A Week Later

Its Monday morning. I pulled away the duvet from my body, stand up to my feet and went straight to the bathroom. I don’t wanna be late for work even though am the boss I just don’t tolerate indolence.

I brushed my teeth, took a nice bath and wore the black expensive tuxedo which I neatly arranged on my king sized bed.

Gelled back my hair, applied cologne. Am really not used to wearing tie so I let loose of the two upper buttons revealing my bare chest. And whoa! Am the perfect definition of the word ‘Handsome’. I smirked and winked at my reflection in the mirror.

I put on my shoes and carried my briefcase with my car key and walked close to the door, and that was when it hit me I forgot something precious to me.

“Gosh am so silly.” I muttered. I opened the drawer where I kept the amulet and wore it on my neck.

Amara

Its been a week in New York and I haven’t seen any sign of the amulet or my soulmate. I just have to keep trying anyways.

“Good morning Tricia.” I greet, entering the kitchen. She’s busy doing the dishes, she turned around with a smile.

“Morning Amara. How was your night.?” She asks.

“It was good. Let me help you with that. You’re dressed for work so you shouldn’t be late.” I said grabbing the jug she intend in washing. She frowns and nudge my shoulder.

“Alright. I’ll be back by 4pm as usual. Take good care of yourself.” She tells carrying her handbag with her.

“Bye…” I shooed.

“Bye.” She blew me a kiss and left through the door.

I chuckled at her attitude. Ohh Tricia is so nice, I have gotten to know her so well.

She works as a teacher in an elementary school for a living. She’s beautiful and unique, she’s not that tall, has a short blonde hair, green eyes and perfect as a lady. Its weird she allowed me to live with her, yeah she is kindhearted❤. I knew it right from the day I spotted her.

After doing the dishes, I cleaned my hands with a dry towel which was hung on the wall. Ate spaghetti and meatballs prepared by Tricia and took my bath.

I gently pocket my hands in the pink hoodie Tricia gave me. It’s kinda cold out here. Yeah, am taking a long walk around the neighborhood since am home alone and hoping if I could find any traces of the mysterious man.

I was about to cross to the other side of the road when something hit me. Ah jeez!.

I sang along to the music being played on my car radio as I drive to work. My phone beeped, I glimpse at the caller, it’s mom. I intend to answer it but annoyingly someone almost committed suicide.

I parked properly, removed my seat belt and got down to check the person. Its a lady..

“Ouch.” I exclaim getting up to my feet. Who the hell did this?! Is the person blind? Good thing I am a witch

“Hey! What the hell.?” The young man from the car asked getting close to me.

Gosh I can’t believe am saying this but he is handsome. I stared at him as my long hair dances to the wind, he stares back at me with a disgusting look.

“You almost killed me.” I said after refraining myself from staring at him. So tempting..

“It was your stupid fault anyways.” He respond rudely.

“Huh? Are you……” I got interrupted by my sparkling bracelet. Does that mean…??

My eyes viewed his neck, the amulet!.

He is the one??. I can’t believe I found him but he is so rude…..
