CHAPTER FOUR

Alpha Julian's pov

It was surely a hectic day for me and to think I was just getting started. I just wanted to go back to my bed and sleep for the whole day but I'm the Alpha, I couldn't do that, I had duties to fulfill for the pack's sake or we'll probably collapse due to my incompetence and I didn't want that to happen so I had to always be at my best all the time. My father had always pressed words of wisdom into my head and I know I learned well from him. It could be seen in my pack and our rapid progress ever since I became Alpha of my pack, the Green moss pack. I sighed as I took off my gloves and gave them to the errand boy beside me. He took it with a bow and went to place it where it's meant to be in the gym.

We were at the training ground and today I was training in my human form, perfecting my boxing skills even though I was perfect at it years ago, it wouldn't hurt to keep in shape and not lose such a potential skill though so I didn't mind training every single morning. Another quality of a good leader, according to my father, was always following the rules, even though you could break them if you wish to and I did just that most of the time. I followed the rules to maintain my boundaries and be the good man I always wanted to be. Following the rules was always going to keep me on track, the right part.

My father was dead, he died two years ago but his words still ring in my head every time and day, his word pushed me to move on despite the hardship when I thought it would be best to give up, his words and actions that I emulated made me who I am today, a very good Alpha and leader that makes his pack and subjects his priority.

I was sweaty, and little droplets fell from my face as I breathed hard and longed to get some air in my lungs while walking over to my gym bag to get a bottle of water so I could quench my thirst. "Crazy game yeah?" I asked my beta, Greyson, referring to the boxing match we just had. His cheek was swollen and that was my handwork, he refused to tap out so I took my chances, and well, I won in the end and it was satisfying… I always love to win all the time. Greyson looked at me with a frown etched on his face before he took his towel and left for the bathroom ignoring me. I chuckled and grabbed my towel before going after him. It always happens this way… most times though, not all the time. I win and he'll be pissed at me then I'll apologize and offer him something he can't reject if I can put it that way, and then bam! We're good like he was never pissed at me, it works all the darn time.

I smiled to myself as I walked into the bathroom and prepared to have my bath. Minutes later, I was out and so was Greyson, still with a frown "you're pissed?" I teased him and heard him grunt at me but I just laughed "come on man, you just had a bath. You're meant to be calm by now" I tell him but he gives me a quick glance and ignores me before he makes to head out of the bathroom

"Okay fine, no training tomorrow. We'll go clubbing at night and you can have all the girls you want" I offer and he stops before turning to face me with a sly smile on his face "you always fall for my act, don't you?" He says and I roll my eyes.

"Of course Greyson, you're an extremely good actor," I say sarcastically and his smile grows wider? "don't break your promise dude, we're still going to go clubbing okay," he tells me and I nod before walking out of the bathroom… he always gets me all the damn time with his perfectly fake pissed off face.

We finish dressing up into a fresh set of pants and zip up our bags when Scarlet, my zeta comes in with an angry look. She's always angry though; she's always been that way ever since I met her in college and I liked her immediately even though she scared most guys, including Greyson and Ryder, my childhood friends and now my confidants. She didn't like me at first but I didn't stop pestering her until we became friends. She was trustworthy and really loyal to us during our college days so I knew I had to keep her by my side and I never regretted it ever since I made her my zeta.

She got to where we stood and bowed before me before she placed her hands on both sides of her waist with a scowl on her face. She looked at me "have you heard the latest news about your annoying brother?" She asked and I groaned while massaging my temples "oh dear lord, what did he do this time?" I asked her and she pressed her lips hard together first before replying

"I'm not sure how authentic the news is yet but a source says he's planning to take over the werewolf realm with the help of the witches. Julian that's clearly breaking the spirit code, we can't let him do that. People will die" she said and I sighed.?

My brother, Kane, Alpha Kane of the Brown moss pack was always a nuisance since he could talk or move. He became worse when we became teenagers and were about to graduate from high school. I know every family is meant to have only one Alpha but oh well, the moon goddess decided to bless my mother with twins; I and Kane but it seemed that only one of us was blessed with common sense and a sense of conduct.

My parents died not long after I and Kane clicked twenty years of age and we were in college. Things became really hard and unbearable, especially the fact that we were to take over the pack when we weren't even prepared… but I know I was more prepared than Kane, he was clearly the unserious and unambitious black sheep of our family so he never tasked himself with learning anything while I always listened to our father's words of wisdom until he died.

I had people to help me though. The pack was shared into equal parts for us to rule and that was the last I saw of Kane five years ago when he became an Alpha. We never got along from the start so there was no reason to keep in touch with each other. Clara was there, Greyson and Ryder, my childhood friends were there for me too and in the end, I learned to be the perfect leader for my pack after devoting myself to learning and becoming better.

I only got reports of Kane's misconduct ever since we went our separate ways and one time, I tried interfering but it didn't end well. The Lycan king had to interfere and Kane was adequately punished which brought the peace back, until now, that last action of his broke the last straw and I vowed to never have anything to do with him again.

I couldn't have him breaking the spirit code though, that was sacred and had been in existence for years before we were born. The spirit code was what kept the witches and werewolves in order and I couldn't risk letting Kane go back on the words our forefathers made for our sakes to protect us. I knew I vowed to never speak to him again but I had to do something this time.

The news could be fake, so I couldn't jump to conclusions yet. I had to be sure and the only way to do that was to go to the Brown moss pack and check all recent activities of Kane. I knew he would welcome me into his pack but we were probably going to have a fight before I would leave.

I was hoping the news wouldn't be true because he was probably going to get banished if the Lycan king found out about his intentions for the Werewolf realm.

"This is extreme, what are we going to do?" Greyson said and I groaned 'I'll go to the Brown moss pack, to confirm if it's true or not" I declared and Greyson shook his head "remember what happened the last time you both had a fight?" He said clearly discouraging me from leaving the Green moss pack. I looked at him and smiled

"No worries mate, he can't kill me. He's not that crazy. We're just going to have a nice talk" I told him and he gulped because he knew I was definitely not going to have a civil conversation with Kane if he angered me, it always ended in fights but this time, I had to stop him if he was up to anything.

"I'll go with you," Clara said but I shook my head immediately "you should stay here, if I take you with me, he'll feel threatened," I told her and she went silent, understanding my point because she was the best female fighter I had in the whole of my pack and I knew she could beat Kane in her human form if she wanted to so taking her with me was definitely going to scare him a bit and I knew he wouldn't like it, it could put him on edge and he won't welcome me.

"When do you leave?" Greyson asked me as we left the gym "tomorrow" I replied and he nodded

"Anything you'll need?" He asks again and I shake my head "don't worry about me Greyson, just get your things while I'll go pack up my things now" I told him and we shared a quick hug before I rushed over to my room to prepare to leave for Brown moss pack.?

What was Kane thinking? If this news was confirmed to be true after my visit, he may get banished because he was breaking one of the spirit code rules and he shouldn't do that, he shouldn't even think about it. We never saw eye to eye but I couldn't let him give his pack a bad reputation. They were already treated poorly by him, doing this would just make people hate him more and his subjects would get affected, it would be bad.

I knew I had to do something quickly, to at least protect his subjects.?

I walked into my closet once I got to my room and took a bag to put my things into it. I took a pair of suits, two pairs of shirts, two denim, and two briefs with the necessary footwear I'd need once I got there.

Immediately after I finished packing up my luggage, I took my phone and called Ryder. He picked on the second ring "hey man, I heard about what's going on with Kane. So you're leaving tomorrow?" He said and I placed my hand on my forehead due to an incoming headache?

"Yeah, I guess Kane messed up again. I have to go there this time even though I vowed never to, it's serious this time and I really have to keep him in check" I replied and I heard Ryder sigh on the other side

"Good luck man, you'll need it considering how Kane can get," he told me and I nodded even though he couldn't see me "thanks Ryder, I really need that," I said back to him and went straight for the reason why I called him "so I need you to call my assistant Cecelia and tell her to get a car ready for me and Greyson. We're leaving now, not tomorrow anymore"

"Isn't that way too hasty?"

"Not when your brother is likely planning to kill every Werewolf and give authority to the witches" I retorted and Ryder went silent for a while "fine then, I'll tell her. Bye," he said and ended the call. 'Plus it's Friday night. And I've been informed my brother's pack has the wildest club and strip club"

'And now I want to come too"…..

'Don't worry. I'll save you a slut"
