Chapter 4 She is much better than that village girl!

Anne gritted her teeth secretly and became even more repulsed by Monica.

Gavin was very busy at work and went back to the office after explaining everything.

Nancy pulled Monica into a sunroom on the second floor. Monica felt speechless when she saw the room because everything inside was pink and very girlish.

"We didn't know your preferences, but thinking that Anne is your age, we asked her opinion, and many things here were chosen by Anne." Nancy's eyes were soft when she talked about Anne.

"Nancy ..." Jeffrey worried that Monica would be upset and reminded Nancy hurriedly.

Nancy realized it and asked Monica cautiously, "Do you like it?"

Monica never minded these things, and she just thought the decoration of her room was a bit exaggerated. She accepted her parents' kindness and said, "Thank you."

Nancy breathed a sigh of relief; it seems that Monica liked her room. Nancy followed Monica into the room and continued, 'Gifts from your brothers are on the table. Some of them have to work and some have to go to school, and they come back rarely. So, they left their gifts here in advance."

Monica didn't expect her brothers to be so attentive, and she felt very warm.

Nancy was afraid that Monica didn't know how to use the facilities in the room, so she introduced them to her carefully. After the introduction, Nancy pulled Monica to sit down on the bed and said lovingly, "This is your home, don't need to feel uncomfortable. If there is anything you need, just tell me, okay?"

Monica's hand was held by Nancy. She felt uncomfortable but warm when she experienced the strange and intimate blood ties again. She nodded uneasily, "I got it, mom and dad, thank you."

Jeffrey never said a word, but he immediately smiled brightly when he heard Monica call him dad.

Nancy and Jeffery said some words of concern to Monica. After they left, Monica went to the bathroom. When she lay in the bathtub, she felt very comfortable and relaxed.

Monica always wanted to install a bathtub in her grandmother's house, but she couldn't explain to her grandmother where the money for the bathtub came from. She had to give up.

After coming to the imperial capital, Monica was unable to take care of her grandmother, but at the same time, she didn't have to hide her identity anymore.

After showering, it was not yet time for dinner, so Monica intended to walk around to familiarize herself with the environment so that she could handle affairs more comfortably in the future.

But she had just left her room when a servant came toward her and invited Monica into the living room.

As soon as Monica came downstairs to the living room, she saw the old man sitting on the couch.

Jeffrey saw Monica and beckoned her to come and sit down, "Monica, this is your grandfather, Henry."

Although Monica seemed to have been living in a small town, she had been in contact with a lot of people, especially those of high status.

The old man on the couch looked more than 70 years old, but he was still hale and hearty. He sat there, and looked unruffled and powerful, just like the head of the family.

Monica nodded slightly and greeted the old man respectfully, "Grandfather, I am Monica. Nice to meet you."

Henry Moore nodded gently and took a careful look at Monica before turning his gaze.

"She does look alike her brothers. I had told you to take a DNA test, but you guys didn't listen to me." Henry did not say Anna's name, but it was no different from targeting Anna directly. While Henry did not care at all, and he continued, "Since the real granddaughter is back, when will the fake one be sent away?"

Monica lowered her eyes to hide the slight change of emotion in her eyes. She felt as if Henry didn't like Anne.

"Anne will be sad to hear these ......" Nancy couldn't bear it and said.

Henry didn't even look at Nancy and said, 'If it weren't because of her, how could my own granddaughter not have been able to come home for so many years? The Moores have raised Anne for so many years. We didn't even let her return our favor, and why should she be upset?"

Henry's words were so calm and sober that Monica couldn't help but gain respect for this old man.

Seeing Anne's embarrassment, Jeffrey said resignedly, "Anne, could you please go to your room?"

"Okay." Anne was reluctant, but she didn't want to stay here and continue to be embarrassed as well, so she hurried back.

"Dad, Gavin is already looking for Anne's parents. and he'll return Anne to her parents as soon as he finds out." Jeffrey reassured Henry.

Henry, however, frowned and said, "If you never find her parents, you'll keep her living at home?"

Nancy froze a moment, and said with difficulty, "Henry, I know you mean well, but Anna has lived with us for so many years. I don't want to see her leave without a home."

Monica looked at Nancy. Her expression was so sincere that Monica could know that she was kind and soft-hearted.

Hearing Nancy's words, Henry also hesitated, but he still said decisively, "Three months. She must be sent away at most in three months. I don't want others to laugh at the Moores for raising other people's child for so many years."

Jeffrey understood Henry's concern and said, "Dad, don't worry, I will find Anne's parents as soon as possible."

Henry finally nodded his head.

But neither of them noticed Anne, standing upstairs in the shadows in the corner, staring indignantly at Monica.

Henry didn't like her before. Now Monica was back, and she became a joke!

She would let Henry know that she is much better than that village girl!

Henry turned back to Monica, and the more he looked, the more he liked her. He thought, 'It's great to have my own granddaughter! When those old fellows discuss their granddaughter again in the future, I can also participate!"

"I heard that your previous high school was in a small town. How was your academic performance?"

"Dad, the quality of teaching in the small town's high school is not as good as in the imperial capital. Please don't ask such questions that will put pressure on Monica." Henry always directly said things. Nancy was afraid that Monica would be embarrassed to hear his words, so she defended her.
