Chapter 3
Athena's Point of View
When Arius captured my lips so subtly, I couldn't help but let out a scowl. My arms were still pinned above my head, and the body of the vampire king was still pressing against mine. My legs were completely paralyzed. I could feel a numbness spreading throughout my entire body as a result of what he had done. Arius is holding his breath as he waits for me to invite him in my mouth. He requested a response from me, and I concurred with his request. I let him in. I was willing to let this vampire king give me a kiss.
And my mind is not where it should be right now. His kisses were driving me completely insane. The kiss of this vampire king set my entire body on fire, and I couldn't move. I was physically incapacitated. Even after he stopped kissing me, I never tried to force him away from me.
He started making fun of me and then asked, “Hunter, do you like my kiss?” After listening to what he had to say, I felt as though I were having a gallon of ice poured over me.
“What the hell are you talking about, Arius?” Because I didn't have the courage to look him in the eye, I had to turn my face away from him. It seems shame has consumed me at this very moment.
“Athena, you cannot deceive me in any way. Even though I can't read your mind, I could tell what you were feeling just by looking at your expression.“ This man has a haughty attitude. ”Just let me know if you'd like another kiss, because I'm willing to give it to you if that's what you want.“
If I hadn't been focused on my plans at the moment, I might have taken his life. Because of him, my blood is starting to boil. He is indeed the dilemma.
”I'm sorry, Arius, but I just don't have time for small talk right now. I have not yet completed my task, so please do not follow in my tracks.“ When I ran away, I uttered something, but I didn't wait around for his response. Since Arius never followed me again, I can't help but smile every time I think about it. Tonight, I will continue on with my mission without being interrupted by anyone. Once Arius was by my side, all he did was bother me with his queries.
Despite this, I can't stop myself from missing him. I've tried everything, but I just can't stop thinking about Arius. What if he decides not to come through for me once more? What if he stopped trying to keep up with me? What leaps should I take right now?
But damn. Why was I distracting myself with thoughts of that infamous demon vampire king when I should have been focusing on completing my mission? If he wouldn't bother showing his face to me, that would be very kind of him. That would be fantastic, as it would mean that I could no longer continue my plan against each of them individually. On the other hand, I came to the realization that I had failed to remember my main goal because I had been concentrating so much on Arius.
I began to keep doing what I was doing until I came across a group of vampires who were about to prey on a group of humans. I stopped them just in time. I was clenching my teeth in preparation. These scumbags didn't want to put an end to the torture and murder, did they?
“What up, you nasty bloodsuckers!” I screamed at the top of my lungs for as long as I could. When I referred to the vampires as bloodsuckers, their heads turned to look in my direction, and I couldn't help but smirk at the sight. I just couldn't help myself. It appears that they are aware of themselves in the position of bloodsuckers, which is brilliant news because they recognize themselves. I would focus myself again from the vampires. After preparing my weapon, I immediately began killing each of them. Every night, I have the codes for the weapons. This evening, I was killing all sorts of evil creatures with a bow and arrow, but tomorrow I will have bronze guns.
Even though the vampires made an effort to capture me, they were ultimately unsuccessful. I feel bad for them because of this. The reason for this is that the damage done to them by my weapons prevents them from getting close enough to me to strike. Killing my enemies didn't take up much of my time at all. Now that they were all gone, the group of humans turned their attention to me.
When they thanked me for protecting our lives, my heart skipped a beat because of what they said to me. “Thank you for saving our lives.” I simply gave them a friendly smile, and the group of humans quickly ran off. After coming to the realization that I had helped humanity in a number of ways tonight, I heaved a sigh and let it out.
“I should probably go ahead and take a nap right now.” When I said those words, I couldn't help but crack a smile. When I turned around to leave, I didn't expect to see the man who was already standing there, so I was taken aback when I saw him.
He had both of his hands tucked in his pockets, and he was looking in my direction with his smile. After seeing Arius, my face immediately turned red, and I could feel my heart pounding from the excessive amount of shock I was experiencing.
Arius said “Hi,” I curled my lower lip into a tight little ball because I was trying so hard to keep my heart rate in calm.
“What on earth are you still doing in this place, Arius? I had the assumption that you had already left.” When I asked him, he gave me a smirk. My brow furrowed in response to the unexpected reaction he gave.
When I asked him about it, he simply replied “I just forgot something," which caused me to shake my head. I just pretended not to hear him and kept on walking in the straight path of the area where I had parked my motorcycle. I have to get back to the camp as quickly as I can so that I can get some rest. My body is begging for a break, and there will be another day tomorrow. Another day spent looking for a fight in the woods. “Will you not ask me about what it is that I have forgotten?” I continued to shake my head in response to his question.
“Arius, come on now. I'm sorry, but I just don't have the time to chat with you right now.“ I quickly turn around and head back home because I must get going. After answering, I continued on my motorcycle where I had left off. The fact that Arius was already in front of me, however, caused me to let out a sigh.
”Athena, I just want you to know that I will always back you up in whatever endeavor you take on. It makes no sense to me if the people you killed were of my kind. Always keep in mind that I am right here to lend you my support. I'll keep an eye on you.“ Arius had just finished saying something, and I was about to leave, when I suddenly recalled something.
“You forgot to inform me of the reasons why you are still here, Arius,”
Arius came back to talk to me about the question I asked. As a result of what he did, my mouth grew more open in astonishment. It's crazy that he just kissed me, but he did it!
“I'm sorry, I forgot to give you a kiss,”
Arius is prepared to step off his path. On the other hand, I interrupted him by asking a different question.
I confronted him by asking, “Why are you doing this?”
“Because of the importance you attach to my life, Athena. Despite the fact that we are very different, ever since the first time we met, I've proven that you are the one for me.“
And because of that, it leaves me unable to find the words.
