Chapter 6

Athena's Point of View

I could feel my throat dry, my eyes widened and my mouth wide open as I saw Arius in front of me. I turned my head back and saw the other Arius.

Damn.

“What is going on?”

I couldn't stop myself from asking those words as I saw two Arius. The man knocking on our door was also Arius. This seemed to be impossible!

“Damn. Do not play with her, Warlock!”

The real Arius screamed and which made the man in front of me smirked. He stretched his head and shifted back into another form that widened my eyes. I couldn't even believe what I was seeing.

“Relax, Arius. I came here to visit you, and I heard that you have a visitor…”

The warlock that Arius called earlier narrowed his eyes on my body. He stared at me from head to toe, and I wasn't sure what's in his mind at that moment.

“You shouldn't use my face, you idiot!”

Arius went in our direction. I was shocked because he pulled me away from the warlock. Yes, I know what a warlock is. It makes sense to me now, and I couldn't even believe that vampires had a warlock ally.

“I just wanted to tease you. That's how I miss you. Well…”

The warlock walked inside the room. He even felt comfortable as he sat down on Arius' couch. I still couldn't believe what I witnessed earlier. It's not clear to me yet. It looks like I was dreaming.

“I never expected that you would love a hunter, huh. When did your taste change, Arius?” The warlock asked, so I gritted my teeth.

“I am not his woman. He brought me here.” I responded and the warlock laughed. It looks like he didn't care about what I uttered.

“What do you want? I don't remember calling you, Warlock.” Arius queried, and the warlock sighed.

“I just came here to visit a friend. Is it wrong to visit you, or do I come at the wrong time?”

I could feel my face flushed from what the warlock had inquired about. I looked at the demon vampire, and he's smirking.

Damn.

“Yes, you did. So, go away. Athena needs some rest. I rescued her because a witch tried to kill her, and it's my fault.” Arius responded to his friend. The warlock got up from sitting, and it looks like he will leave after what Arius had told him to do. However, I didn't want him to leave because I sensed something if ever that this warlock left me alone with the demon vampire king.

“No, please don't. You stay until I feel better. Did you get it?”

Arius looked at me with a disbelief reaction from his face. He couldn't believe what I uttered, and I don't even give a damn about it. I didn't want the warlock to leave us because I sensed something.

What if the demon vampire king would take advantage of me when I am still weak? What should I do now?

“What can you say about this, Arius?”

Just because of what the warlock inquired of Arius, the demon vampire king glared at me. It seems like he wanted to kill me with his stares, but I wasn't scared of that. He can't startle the hell out of me.

“Shut up! Please get out of here, Warlock. I will talk to you later.” Arius uttered, so I looked at him.

“Why are you sending him away, Arius? I still have so many questions to ask him.”

Arius was still looking at me with his dangerous stare. I know he's mad, but I don't even give a damn. I won't let this demon vampire king be with me inside a room.

He saved my life, but my perception toward him will never change. He was a demon vampire king and if I just don't have a plan, maybe I killed him the first time I saw him.

However, I want all my plans to work. I shouldn't make a decision that would put my life in danger. I was in the vampire's territory and instead of getting angry, I should spend my time on investigating here. There are things I should need to know about. It turned out that vampires have so many allies, such as warlocks.

“He shouldn't be here. You need to rest because your wound hasn't recovered yet.” Arius explained and I let out a sigh.

“Maybe Arius is right, Miss Athena. You had to rest and maybe… I have to go?”

I just sigh from what the warlock had told me. I nodded my head, so he left. I was still standing here in my direction and when I turned my gaze to the demon vampire king, I found him staring at me.

“I still can't believe that you brought me here, King of the vampires. What's your next plan, huh?” I asked and he just smirked.

“I saved your life, Athena, and you had to pay me with that.”

I gritted my teeth when I heard those words from him.

“I was right. You are such a demon vampire king. You are expecting a return for saving my life. How dare you!” I exclaimed, but Arius' face became serious.

“All I want to ask you is to stay in my life. I want you beside me. I don't care if you're a hunter. All I wanted is you, Athena. You are special to me, and I don't even understand why this is happening.”

I was stunned by what the demon vampire king had told me. It seems like I couldn't open my mouth in shock. The words that he mentioned were still ringing into my mind.

“What… The… The hell are you saying, Arius? Are you out of your mind?” I asked in my surprise reaction.

“That's what I want, Athena. I want you to be by my side. I don't care if you're a hunter. Just please stay beside me…” He uttered, which made me bite my upper lips.

I don't know what to say from what Arius had told me. All I could hear at this moment was the fast beat of my heart.

“So, please stay beside me…”
