Chapter 2

A man said, “Take remove her blindfold.” His voice was calmer than the one I had previously encountered.

I was immediately seated on a nice bed once someone took the blindfold off my eyes. Other vampires’ features came in front of me as well.

I notice a lady and two males inside the large dim room. Even though I looked for Riskel, I was disappointed when I didn’t find him.

“Can you tell me why you brought her here? Why don’t we murder her right now?” a lady stated. I didn’t say anything and simply stared at her. She’s dressed seductively in a crimson outfit that reveals her cleavage. Her hair is curly, which makes me feel uneasy.

“Allow me to kill her,” she said, flashing her teeth merely to scare me. What happened to me, though? Even when our opponents were right in front of me, I felt no fear. Even if they were able to kill me.

The lady attempted to approach me but was stopped by the voice that spoke. I recognized Riskel by his chilly voice, but I couldn’t find him when I looked for him. I couldn’t find him because the area was completely dark.

“Don’t touch her. No one allowed to touch her,” he promised.

“But why?” the woman asked.

“We can use her as bait for his father. I will not bring her back until they let what I want to happen.”

Does this mean he’s the wolf’s most formidable foe, as my father calls him? Is it true that his ambition is to conquer the world and enslave people? If this man is as deadly and frightening as my father claims, why shouldn’t I be afraid? Is this even possible? That I felt more secure when he was present? This is strange.

“Let her change, I don’t want to see anyone in that fucking bridal gown!” I can sense his rage in his words.

“Where are you? Why didn’t you show your face to me?” I inquired out of curiosity. I even tried to rise, but a man forced me to return to my seat.

“Make sure that she can’t escape,” the woman ordered.

“Lord Riskel has left, won’t you follow him, Suvira?” the man said, but I feel that Riskel is still here.

“I’m leaving now; you’ll take care of that woman first, tie her up so we can make sure she can’t leave,” she added, glaring at me angrily as she spoke, and I just gazed at them as they left the room.

“Don’t you feel scared?” the man with me asked. We are the only ones here; he speaks more calmly than those with him before.

“Should I be afraid?” I asked. My response was quite heartfelt, as I had no idea what to be terrified of in such a situation.

“Seriously? You weren’t scared of us? We can kill you right away.”

“Then why didn’t you do it earlier?” I could see the grin on his lips as a result of what I said. This appears to be the first encounter with a wolf who is not terrified of them.

“I’m not sure what kind of woman you are, but you didn’t seem afraid when Lord Riskel appeared in front of you. Why didn’t you struggle or flee when we picked you up?” His brow remained wrinkled.

I returned the question, “Why aren’t you tying me up yet?” I just heard him take a few deep breaths. He no longer seems to comprehend what I’m saying. I couldn’t respond to his inquiry since I couldn’t explain why I wasn’t terrified of that man.

Silence fell over the entire area for a brief while. Inside the chamber, darkness finally descended. But I get the impression that it’s no longer simply the two of us in the room, and even if Riskel isn’t here right now, I know he’s there.

I inquire, “Why isn’t he showing?”

“Why do you want to see him?” I feel like the two of us will never end the question.

I answered, “Because I want to see his flaming eyes and fangs.”

Is this kind of curse brought by a vampire? That whenever you look into their eyes, they will never let their face out of mind.

The man simply shrugged and walked out of the room. He no longer followed the instruction to bind me. Because, to be honest, I’m not going anywhere. I was torn between marrying the man I don’t love and joining the vampires. And I’d rather be here.

“I know you’re there,” I said, “why don’t you come up to me?” Even though I feel like I’m talking to myself, I’m speaking because I know and believe Riskel is here.

I slowly stood up and looked around. It’s not easy in this area, and I know they see more of this kind of darkness.

“Where are you?”

Even though I have no idea where I’m going, I try to take another step. A few moments later, I walked on something that caused me to lose my balance; as a result, I was on the verge of collapsing, but a hand reached out to catch me. After my face fell, my world slowed even more. It was in his chest, I believe.

He then pushes me back to the bed, screaming, “Get the fuck away from me!”

A sly smile appeared on my lips. “I want to know who you are.”

“I want to kill you.”

“Do it right now.”

I never got a response from him. But I know he’s still around.

“Would you mind allowing me to get to know you?” I inquired. I’m sure this is one of the worst questions I’ve ever asked. Even funnier, I want to be friends with the man who makes my father nervous.

“Why I can’t use my abilities on you? Who are you?” Even though I don’t see his face, I can imagine his cold expression.

“Then ask me about it. Don’t waste your time trying to figure out my personality; I’ll tell you everything.”
