Chapter 3

The sun was high in the sky, but I couldn’t feel it because this place is completely shuttered. Even though it was daylight outside, the room was still dark. I had no idea how well I had slept.

I simply observed someone standing not far away when I sat down. My eyes were at first blurry, but when I rubbed them, I saw a man with two women who appeared to be waiting for me to wake up.

“What’s up?” I said, my voice indicating that I was still sleepy.

“Lord Riskel wishes to see you when you get dressed,” the man said, turning his focus to the women accompanying him. “Are you capable of doing that?” You’ll look after her,” he continued. He didn’t linger long in the room before leaving.

“You can stand now, lady,” one woman offered as she extended her hand to assist me.

“How shall we proceed?” I inquired. I’m at a loss for what to do. Because they are vampires, these two women have lovely complexions. They appear to be 17 years old; yet, I have no idea what their true age is because vampires do not age.

“We need to fix you, to be pleasant in the presence of Lord Riskel,” replied one of the women. I asked what their name was, but they refused to tell me, the woman with short hair said and commanded them that nothing could be said to me. They could not answer any questions I would throw at them. So even though I still want to know a lot, I didn’t ask it, I also don’t want them to ruin what I do and what I know.

At first, I wondered what they would do to me, just as they would fix me up and put me in an outfit they believed Riskel would find attractive. They put make-up on me and the shiny red satin straps slit dress they put on me moments later after they combed my hair.

“You are so lovely. Of all the women from wealthy families I’ve seen, you’re the only one that fits that kind of outfit. You’re like a goddess descending from heaven.” I can only see the woman with the mole on her forehead face in awe.

“Thank you,” is all I have to say to them. I honestly believe I could be their buddy, yet they continue to ignore me.

They instantly accompanied me out of my room after that. This is the first time I’ve seen this location, and it’s as dark as my room, with guards walking around. When they saw me, everyone stopped and it was as if they gazed at me, I was the first lady they saw wearing this kind of dress. I simply ignored them till we arrived at a room where they only allowed me to enter.

From where I was standing, I noticed a man who turned his back on me while holding a glass in his hand. He was dressed in a black suit jacket. I took a deep breath and attempted to talk to him, but he turned around before I could open my mouth. My world appeared to come to a halt this time, and my heartbeat raced as if I had finally seen the man I thought was meant for me. But it’s unlikely to happen because a wolf and a vampire can’t love each other.

“I may claim that the clothing you’re wearing fits for you if I’m not furious with your race,” he stated. I can hear his voice wonderfully no matter what he does. His blank expression caught my attention, but why did seeing his face makes my heart race? Does it seem like he hugs me every moment?

“Sit down. Do you want to eat human flesh?”

I said, “We eat vegetables and fruits, not humans,” and sat down instantly.

“Is this what you do to the wolves you take? Dressed in a stunning red cloth? Then eat breakfast together?” I asked him. Before he could respond, he took a wine glass filled with what I believe was human blood.

He turned his cold gaze sharply on me. “When I see a wolf, they don’t reach this place. Because they are dying, right away,” he replied and his smirk was shown to me before he drank the blood. He slowly closed his eyes as if the blood had satiated his need.

When he ran out of blood, he stated, “It’s incredibly nice to drink human blood, especially when you think of how afraid they were when they spotted us.”

“Can’t you just drink the blood of animals? Why do you want to run out of people?” I asked him.

“Blood from animals?” Is it the blood of wolves? Will you risk your entire race to save us?” I’m not sure why every word he says gives me butterflies. Although these phrases are not lovely, they provide energy to my body. I was so taken aback by his appearance that I lost track of time. Am I this crazy to be with this man?

I said, as if I was losing myself, “I guess I love you.”

“Did you say something?”

“Risk, change your attitude and lifestyle. I like you; I want to be with you for the rest of my life.” I know it’s impossible, but this is how my heart truly feels.

“Do you think you’re crazy? Someone like you will never appeal to a vampire like me. You are Alpha’s daughter, and. . . ”

“And you don’t even explain why you feel this way?” I cut to what he had to tell me and looked at him deeply.

“Shut up! Stop talking, because I don’t care what you say.” Even though I felt anger at his scream, I still felt more dominant. I can’t explain why I seem to have known him since then. Have we ever met before? Did he know who I was before? Because I know, some connections bind our souls.
