Chapter 5 -The arrival of Diana Harris
Next day.
She was still asleep when the light hit her face. The nanny woke up first and then drew down the curtains to shield her from the light so that she could continue to rest.
Jennifer has been particularly sleepy lately, and always waking up late, as is probably the case with anyone who is pregnant, so she doesn't have to deliberately think about how to kill time.
Simon had read something that pregnant woman should walk around from time to time, so he instructed the nannies to take her for a walk in the back garden, but definitely not leave this villa.
Sometimes Jennifer felt herself like a harem maid, with a few maids everywhere she goes, but she didn't have the leisure to enjoy the flowers.
There was a designer-made swing in the garden, exquisite and detailed. If Jennifer was tired, so she sat on it, the breeze was blowing, the sun was warm, she had a moment to feel that life was so wonderful.
She returned all the money for the abortion to the press, as she couldn't be a book model anyway when she was pregnant, and the editor-in-chief didn't say anything else.
What Jennifer was going to do now was something she hadn't even thought about yet.
Just as she was enjoying the leisurely time, someone she didn't want to meet at all suddenly came in front of her.
" How's it going, Jennifer?" Diana's make-up was as exquisite and pretty as ever, only her fake face always made her stomach-churning.
"I'm fine, thank you."
Jennifer twisted her head away, not wanting to look at her again.
"I've heard that you haven't been very fond of eating lately? Why, is it a bad appetite?"
"What does it matter to you whether I have a good appetite or not, and besides, shouldn't you be the happiest person when I'm dead?"
"Ahem." Diana coughed dryly a few times, and still found a topic, "Look at you, I don't even think about it."
"It has nothing to do with me." Jennifer stood up, looked up and smiled as she catered, "do not say this nonsense, just tell Simon if you want me to leave here. I might even have to be grateful to you if you make it."
Without any interest to enjoy the view, Jennifer turned back and left. Being treated in this way, all the evil thoughts came up, so Diana stretched out her foot, and Jennifer fell down without paying attention.
The moment she fell to the ground, Jennifer subconsciously protected her belly, only to overexert herself and twist her ankle as she roll over.
The nanny was so frightened that she rushed over to help her, and Diana also pretended to be unaware of this and asked if she was all right.
The nannies quickly called the doctor. When Jennifer's foot moved, she felt so pain that cold sweat was fell down. After checking, the doctor said: "The fetus is all right, but the ankle is injured and you need to rest for a while."
Diana was beside herself with hatred when she heard the news, thinking: How can this woman get so lucky every time, but she still had to pretend to look like she was happy and blessed by God outwardly.
Simon heard the news when he returned from the company. When he entered the door, Jennifer had already fallen asleep, Simon unconsciously slowed down his steps and sat down to check her legs.
Jennifer was a light sleeper that the slightest noisy could wake her up. She opened eyes and sat up, asking, "Who is it?"
Simon drunk a little, and he just kissed Jennifer, which scares her a lot.
"What are you doing?"
"Forget about it." Simon let go of her, his heart feeling a sense of disappointment, he didn't say anything, closed the door and went straight back to his room, leaving Jennifer sitting alone. Jennifer was thinking about the kiss
And Simon, he was full of thoughts of why he had just kissed her uncontrollably, angry at why he was being led by her nose again.
Upset, Simon woke himself up with a cold shower and smoked a few cigarettes before going to bed.
In the past two days, his mind was focused on Jennifer's pregnancy, so he did not pay much attention to Diana. Therefore, when Diana took the initiative to say that she would take care of Jennifer, Simon even felt a little bit of relief, at least, Diana did not need any explanation from him, she was generous and understanding.
"Go ahead." Simon rubbed his head, replied to Diana, and continued to work.
After receiving approval, Diana took the bruising medicine and came to visit Jennifer, begging her for forgiveness.
Jennifer knew everything, but she didn't say much, she spoke indifferently, "Just leave it here, I know what you think, you don't need to pretend."
Diana's hand shook a little as she put the medicine on the table, but still pretended not to care and shook her head, "I don't understand much of what you're saying, so you'd better get some rest. I'll come over to see you some other day."
After Diana left, Jennifer looked at the bruising medicine, but had no desire to use it at all.
