Chapter 1
The bright blue sky, the gentle breeze, the wonderful twitting of birds, light shining into my eyes.
Just another morning from dreaming about the Prince my mom had always told me about. His blonde hair, his dazzling eyes just like a shining mirage. His masculine hands firmly holding his father's sword, as his lips called for me. But sometimes, i dream about someone else. Someone entirely different. He looks more handsome and alot more dreamy.
Normally, in our village "Ti-Anjorea", our destiny is in our dreams. That's our belief. But why do i have two young men in my life?
Fear always seems to take over whenever I'm about to tell my mom about it. Not letting words out of my mouth.
But no. I won't let all this taught in my head ruin the wonderful day ahead of me. Another day to dance around at the edge of the stream, enjoying the flow of the river.
Another day to play with the birds and make new hats and also new dresses. Another day for my beauty to get hailed as usual. Another day hoping to meet my prince.
I jumped out of bed and washed my face into the little moulded pot in my room. Walking out of my room to wish my mother a good morning.
The moment she set her eyes on me, the brightness in her face had just increased by a thousand times. Holding a little piece of cloth in her hands, as she dusted the plates and pots next to her.
"Should i help?" I asked as she rolled the little piece of cloth around her wrist starring at me.
"No. Why don't you just get some tomatoes from the garden instead" Mom responded.
I grabbed a basket and walked outside our wooden hut as i could feel her eyes on me. She gave a sharp smile as she breath out so loud.
I walked straight into the garden, with the green plants and rosy petals shinning as bright as the sun. I sighed in content and walked up to the tomatoes and bent next to the thorns pointing their sharp edges at me.
I could feel the pain of the tomatoes stem as i plucked off it's fruits. I knew i shouldn't have stayed next to those thorns. I could have stayed behind the red roses mom fills the vase with. My dress had already got stuck to the thons. Then i forcefully tried to pull it out of frustration. Not caring about what could happen to the dress mom made.
My dress tore into shreds as the thorns was planted with extra potions amd spells making the thorns edge as sharp as a knife. Like it was getting stuck to every other part of the dress as i pulled it out.
I was busy battling with my dress and the thorns when i heard approaching steps of horses. Running as fast as they could. At first, i ignored thinking they were just trying to pass by, but they seemed to have slowed down as they approached my hut.
I raised my head to stare at who it could have been, cause we hardly have horses here at "Ti-Anjorea" . Surprisingly, he looked exactly like my prince. The one mom told me about.
I was startled and totally amazed. My looks were as tattered and less attractive enough to make him dislike me. I tried to get my dress off the thorn spot but i just seemed to be making things worse. I had to pull it off at once , not caring if it was going to rip off me or not. Successfully i did, but the lower part of my dress had already fallen off. Leaving me with just the upper part and my underwear.
What a shame.and a high level of embarrassment.
I ran out of the garden straight to the line where mom and i spread our clothes for sun drying after washing it at noon. I grabbed an old wrapper and covered my self with it. Not being able to look at the prince and his guards in the eyes. I could feel the sharpness in their stares as it pierced through my skin.
I was left with no other option than to turn around and go in through the door, cause mom's heart would be filled with bruises and wounds knowing that i have already embarrassed myself in the presence of my forever prince.
I sneaked in as she turned her back against me, not realising i had already stepped in. I pulled off my half damaged dress and wore a better one, hoping that it would impress my prince. But come to think of it, it's all useless . There's nothing i can do to impress him anymore. Even his guards had already set their eyes on what i call my pride.
"Sofie! Mom called, interrupting my taught. Her voice sounded so calm and exciting, like the prince had not seen her or told her about what je had witnessed.
"Where have you been?" She asked, then realised she was alone.
"Did the prince return home?" I taught as my heart broke into a thousand pieces.
"The tomatoes?" She asked as she starred at me. I'm sure she must have been wondering why i had changed my dress.
"It's in the farm" i said as i turned around to get them from the garden, then my heart skipped.
