Chapter 6

Forgetting the troubles of the Lee family, turning to the man Chelsea had just talked about. Now the man is enjoying his coffee after receiving a phone call from Chelsea.

Don't forget his personal secretary, Rico Shine, always faithfully accompanies the Master. "Miss Lee?" asked Shine's secretary.

"You're right. What a woman who has no stand," the man insulted, then set the phone down on the table. He takes some files and signs them.

"I'm done signing it. Now give it to Director Hans and tell him to refuse cooperation with the Scott company."

"But, sir. The Scott company side has been waiting for you for the last two months. You haven't even met Director Scott at all. Sorry if I'm presumptuous, but the company's shares can grow fast if you accept this cooperation."

"Who knows more about Alexa company, me or you, secretary Shine?"

"If it's your decision, I can only obey. I dare not go against your orders, sir." Secretary Shine lowered his head obediently. He takes the folder containing the files that his Master has signed.

"I feel pity because the Scott company has been waiting for over two months without clarity from our side, and you haven't even met Director Scott in person yet."

Secretary Shine gave a long enough reason to his Master so he would not be mistaken for a misunderstanding by the Master.

"Therefore, I feel strange with him. Even though I have never met, he has dared to invite cooperation with me," said the man surnamed Alexander, explaining the reason behind his refusal.

"I know the company is growing very fast overseas. This cooperation can increase shares twice compared to the cooperation with the Railway Group. Still, it is also necessary to be wary of people who have just come to the surface like them," he continued later.

"Like marlins which are very shrewd in the ocean. Their swimming speed is unquestionable, but when marlins rise to the surface of the sea, they are like any other fish to death because they run out of water. I hope you understand what I mean, secretary Shine. Of course, I also don't want my old mistakes to be repeated."

Young Master Alexander explained in detail, making secretary Shine begin to understand his Master's past problems.

It's true. Very important to think before you act. That has always been the principle of Loe Alexander, President and Director owner of the Alexa Group.

Even though the rewards are huge, he does not just directly accept cooperation with just anyone.

After nodding in understanding, secretary Shine was allowed to leave the room to carry out his Master's duties.

Shortly after, Leo Alexander retrieved his cell phone, calling someone he had met just a moment ago.

"Hello, Mr. Smith. Thank you for being so helpful before," he said.

"No, Mr. Alexander. That's nothing. It's just a small matter. Why are you thankful?"

"No, still, if it weren't for your helping, I wouldn't be able to execute the next plan."

"Not really. By the way, what relationship is there between you and the Lee family's daughter?"

"Nothing, only personal matters and nothing to do with the company."

"Oh ... I understand what you mean. Indeed. If people fall in love, it can be crazy, Mr. Alexander."

"Why do you suddenly talk about this, Smith? Okay, I think to get here our conversation. I just want to thank you."

Pip!

Leo Alexander disconnected first without waiting for the person across there to answer his sentence.

"What the hell is that man? Pretentious people know!" he quipped at the man who seemed to have just annoyed himself.

The man was silent for a moment, recalling when he met Mr. Smith.

"Come back, finish my job."

"If you're done with Mr. Smith, you can contact me anytime, sir."

"No need, Mr. Smith will escort me back to the company later."

"All right, sir. I excuse." Secretary Shine turned around, walking out of the corporate lobby.

Meanwhile, Leo Alexander approached the receptionist asking for the whereabouts of the owner of the company.

"Mr. Alexander." The receptionist bowed respectfully, "Can I help you?"

"Can I meet Mr. Smith now?"

"Sorry, Mr. Alexander, Mr. Smith is now meeting the client. If you're willing to wait for him, let me take you to the VVIP room first."

"No need. Please take me to Mr. Smith's room."

"But, Mr. Smith now—" The receptionist's explanation stopped when she saw the sharp spotlight from Leo Alexander's eye.

Feeling the atmosphere becoming uncomfortable and a little afraid of what would happen next, the receptionist ushered Leo Alexander into Mr. Smith's room without a second thought.

"Let's follow me, Mr. Alexander."

Shortly after taking the elevator for a few minutes, the two reached the floor of the company owner's room.

The receptionist immediately knocked on the door to ask permission to enter the room.

"Come in!" She heard an answer from inside the room.

Just as the receptionist opened the door, Mr. Smith already looked annoyed at being disturbed.

"I told you, I'm accepting guests. Can't you do your job properly?"

"Sorry, sir, but Mr. Alexander forced—"

The receptionist had not had time to explain why, but the company owner rushed up from his seat, approached the door, and left the unfinished guest he met.

"Why don't you bring him in?"

Again and again. Worked be receptionist awry, she thought. What she did was always wrong in the boss' eyes. But what can she do? She's just an employee.

Thankfully, she can work in a company with a high enough salary despite facing anger from superiors daily.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Alexander. Indeed the employees here are too spoiled by me. Please come in."

"It's okay. It's normal," Leo said paltrily.

"Sorry, Mr. Jhonson, I'll call you again later to settle the matter." Mr. Smith smiled awkwardly.

"Anna! Bring Mr. Jhonson out," he ordered to the receptionist, who was still standing in the doorway. "Once again, sorry, Mr. Jhonson." Now speak to the man in front of him while bowing.

Mr. Johnson could only shake his head, inexhaustible to thought. Indeed, the highest office always takes precedence.

Whoever is richer will come first. It is no longer an open secret. That is how it is, especially in a business world like this.

"Please come in. What does it take until you bother to come here?" Mr. Smith asked.

"I'll tell you what I came here for. Just straight to the point because I don't like small talk. I want to pay off all of Mr. Christian Lee's debts."

"Mr. Christian Lee, a former board member who has worked in the SC Group?"

"Correct. How much do all the debts total to you?"

"For a moment, this is too sudden. I don't understand what you mean." Mr. Smith seemed confused by Leo's words.

"Do I need to be clear again, Mr. Smith? I don't like to repeat words."

"Well, Mr. Alexander. The total is 234 thousand dollars."

"Give me the check."

Without thinking, Mr. Smith gave Leo Alexander a check. Leo immediately wrote down the money's amount, but more than the nominal that Mr. Smith had mentioned earlier.

After handing the check to Mr. Smith, Leo got up from his seat and immediately left from Mr. Smith's room without saying a word of farewell to the company's owner.

"Mr. Alexander, wait! It's too much." prevented Mr. Smith, who brought Leo's steps to a halt.

Leo turned around, "The rest I give you because you help—"

"Of course, Mr. Alexander. I'm delighted if I can help you. Next time if you need my help, I will be happy to help you" Mr. Smith interjected quickly, without fear that Leo would get angry at having his sentence cut.

"Next time, don't cut my words, Mr. Smith. You know what I don't like," said Leo, who answered with a nod by Mr. Smith.

"Have your men go to Lee's family home to collect the debt when I call you later. And don't say anything if I've paid off all the debts."

A second later, Leo left Mr. Smith's room without waiting for Mr. Smith to reply his sentence.
