The Escape Plan
"I'm sorry Arcyl, Tom indeed. well, I hope you'll understand for once." Regina was a little embarrassed to say this because everyone knew that this would not be the last time Arcyl had to put up with the behavior of her son, Tom. "I'll scold him later, so.."
“Mom!” Tom growled. In front of Arcyl, if his mother said something like that, wouldn't his pride fall free and become a mockery for men in front of him?
Arcyl smiled at Regina. "Okay, forget it! I hope this won't happen again, Regina. See you, Tom," he said in a pretty good mood when he saw Tom angry. "I will go. I don't think there's much time left for tonight's lunar eclipse." he stepped away towards the forest courtyard after nodding at Regina, followed by the two guards who had been standing behind him.
After Arcyl disappeared, a strange silence occurred between Tom and his mother. Trying to lighten the mood, Regina asked his son, "Are you hurt anywhere?'' He scanned Tom's entire body. Of course, he has to worry, it can be said Arcyl is currently the strongest werewolf in the kingdom so he can hold the current leadership milestone. he still remembers how fierce he was fighting Arcyl with his challengers at that time.
Regina's eyes widened when she saw Tom's wrist stained with dried blood. He immediately grabbed the son's hand with worry. "What happened?" Even though it doesn't look like it's a serious wound and when hunting it's not uncommon for Tom to get injured, still he can't help but worry. Tom is her only son, even though in the last few years it's hard for her to understand his thoughts, but for Regina Tom is like her life, like everything.
"It is nothing." Tom immediately pulled him. hand, hiding behind his back. “Mom's hands are cold. Why not use the gloves I gave you yesterday?” he frowned at him with distaste. Initially, he also wanted to persuade his mother not to participate in useless activities tonight, but he knew it would be like bending a tree trunk for hundreds of years, too impossible. So, he just gave me gloves and reminded her to wear a jacket tonight. But, has his mother even forgotten the gift that he searched so hard for her?
"No, I just don't want to use it," Regina replied, holding both of her hands feeling a little guilty. When he saw Tom's expression getting darker, he immediately said the real reason, "Actually, I don't want to wear this because I'm afraid it will break. It was a gift from you, Mom didn't want to wear him too often and ruin it."
"I'll get you another glove, so put that on, Mom!" cried Tom rather emotionally. Is there a more outlandish reason than that? he couldn't understand the reason given by Regina at all. He didn't give gloves to his mother just to be stored like ancestral relics.
"Okay." Regina laughed. Son Him's emotions are bad. “In that case, would you like to follow Mom into the forest with the other werewolves? We may be late, but it's possible that the lunar eclipse is still here and we can get some light," she said carefully. Even though she knew that this would make Tom angry again, Regina still couldn't help herself. For some reason, her son is so against all existing royal regulations.
“Stop it, Mom! Don't say that shit in front of me again!” Tom recalled the conversation he had with Arcyl a while ago, and the emotions that had subsided increased again. he looked at his mother, Regina, who stood and stared at him with heart, several times his mouth opened but finally Tom closed his lips tightly.
Regina let out a tired breath. Her fault indeed keeps making her son angry, even though she already knows his character. "Okay. Rest and treat your injuries well!”
Tom stared at Regina's back which was about to move away, he finally couldn't hold back from saying it. His hand reached out and caught his mother's arm. As Regina turned around, Tom said slowly, "Mom, I'm leaving the kingdom."
Regina frowned. She felt that she had heard something impossible, so she was sure she must have misheard what Tom had just said. "What?"
"I will leave the kingdom," Tom said, emphasizing every word while looking Regina's eyes right into her beads. "I will leave the Megana Kingdom," he repeated with determination evident in his tone of voice.
When Regina finally could hear clearly what her son was saying, as if someone was squeezing her heart, something also erupted in her head. He knew from the moment he saw Tom's eyes that the boy couldn't and wouldn't want to be stopped. Tom was determined. “But, but, why? You're just going to leave your mother like that?" asked Regina stung. She couldn't hold back the endless stream of tears. "You want to leave me alone?" If in this way she can restrain Tom, she won't be ashamed to do it. But, he knows it's just wishful thinking.
"Mom." Tom stepped forward, taking her mother in his arms tightly. He could not hold back the sadness that crept in little by little when he saw his mother's tears. "I'm sorry, but I'm still going." One of his hands was raised, wiping away the tears that pooled on Regina's cheeks.
"Why? What is the reason? It's dangerous out there! Are you even sure you can live alone out there?” For the first time, Regina lost her temper, and she asked her son, Tom, aggressively. The wildlife outside the kingdom was not something that a young werewolf like Him who was still stubborn could endure. Imagining the dangers that might happen to Tom, Regina's tears fell even more.
"I can, Mom!" answered Tom loudly. “Wherever I go is better than here, having to obey that arbitrary Arcyl! I don't want it, Mom!” Every word Tom said with great emotion. He's not lying. Even better, he died than having to live under Arcyl all the time, but he couldn't possibly say that in front of his mother.
“What are you saying, Tom? Do not speak carelessly!” Panicked Regina immediately looked left and right, afraid that someone might hear and then nothing good would happen to the two of them.
"I'm serious, Mom. See how he takes every good hunting result for himself even though other people get it. And there's so much more! he is such a shameless bastard!” Tom isn't afraid of anyone hearing what he said. According to him, he is telling the truth. After all, he also said that in front of Arcyl directly.
"Tom, stop!" Regina stared angrily at her stubborn son. She wiped the tears off her face roughly. "You look tired. Better think about it tomorrow. Mom hopes you're just kidding," she said and immediately turned and left Tom's room without looking back.
