Chapter 5. The World of Humans

Tom tried to sniff around. He really couldn't sniff out the forest scent that was familiar to him all his life. It's as if he is in a completely different world. Staring at the luminous membrane, a mysterious smile tugged at his lips. If what he smells is true, it means that the other side or let's call it a werewolf from Megana Kingdom who is looking for him definitely can't smell his scent either! This is a fortune for him.

Turning around, Tom immediately moved forward through a forest that was so foreign to him, farther and farther away from the glowing membrane. With Tom's speed as a flexible werewolf, it didn't take long for him to reach the end of the forest. He finally left the forest.

A strange sound sounded like a whirring object, Tom saw something like a train but covered and colored passing through the paved road. Some bicycles and bicycles are not pedaled. Wow, that's amazing. Although werewolves do not need these tools, because they have a natural speed of movement. Following the paved road, Tom again stepped aimlessly.

The road led him to a market. Tom stared in amazement at the sight in front of him. There are many stalls with various kinds of things on display, such as vegetables, fruit, and clothes. Meanwhile, to get these items, other people have to exchange them for a colorful paper called money. With his senses of sight and hearing, Tom can learn new environments more quickly. He also knew they weren't werewolves, but, rather, humans.

"Madam, can you give me a pound of turnips and a whole chicken?" A woman's voice came into Tom's ear along with a jumble of other voices. The word 'chicken' intrigued Tom more than anything else.

Unknowingly Tom's eyes were directed to the woman's voice, even though he felt that his head was about to split open because of the many voices that entered his head. His two eyes shone when he stared at the array of fresh chicken meat at a stall that the woman visited. His stomach growled with hunger. His supplies had run out some time ago. Understandably, at a young age like him, werewolves tend to consume more and need a lot of nutrients to grow.

Tom stepped closer. Not only chicken, but the kiosk also sells various kinds of vegetables, which for him are unattractive. At this time all of Tom's senses seemed to be filled with fresh chicken meat because of the hunger that was tormenting him. Luckily, he still has common sense left. Restraining his desire for food, Tom stared at the seller who was now staring at him in confusion.

"What is it? Do you want to buy something? What are you going to buy?” The seller, a middle-aged woman, asked the strange young man who kept staring blankly at her wares. Is this child lost? Or maybe stupid? What a pity this handsome face, the woman thought to herself.

Tom immediately averted his eyes with all his might from the pile of chicken meat that almost made him salivate. He gulped. “Can I work here? I can do anything. I can lift twenty kilos of turnips alone without difficulty," said him with the most serious face he's ever made.

"Why suddenly?" The middle-aged woman was taken aback by the sudden change in the situation. "Where is your house? Your parents?"

Tom was silent for a moment. "I don't have a home, no parents. I also don't have any money at all.” he was trying to describe himself at this time. Indeed, in this strange world, he is alone. He has a house and parents in another world, but, if the woman doesn't understand and draws different conclusions then it's not Tom's fault.

"Oh, poor child!" The compassionate gaze of the saleswoman was fixated on Tom's body. "Okay, you can help me get rid of the rotten vegetables and help pick up the vegetables that will be arriving any minute!"

"Thank you." Tom immediately found an empty basket and found rotten vegetables hidden in the pile with his sharp eyesight. He combed through piles of radishes, tomatoes, potatoes, and some vegetables he had never seen before. Even in the Megana Kingdom, Tom didn't pay much attention to the names of any vegetables or plants. They all taste bad, so what does He know?

Some time passed when a strange and cheerful tone sounded from something flat Rectangle, the peddler even spoke to someone through him. Is it magic? asked Tom in his heart. Not, it's called a cell phone.

After hanging up the phone, the woman motioned for Tom to help pick up the vegetables that had just arrived at the market entrance. he didn't ask about the location, just nodded and immediately went to the location. Tom heard her before she even finished her call. He also heard a man's voice on the other end not far from their stall. He already knows his location with certainty.

A black pick-up truck carries baskets full of various types of vegetables. Tom immediately approached a man who looked frivolous and was playing with his cell phone while leaning against the car door. “I picked up Karen's order,” he said, who also knew the sales woman's name from a phone call made some time ago.

The man looked at Tom curiously. He just saw this handsome young man this time. Usually, Karen hires her nephews to transport the vegetables. But, she's sure this young man whose face looks like a chisel is not Karen's nephew, because he doesn't look like him. "Are you new here?" It's been a long time He's been a supplier of vegetables in this market, and this is the first time He's seen a face as handsome as this, He's sure.

Tom stared back at the man, indifferent. "Yes." he turned his gaze to the pile of baskets. "So which one is Karen's?" asked him in a voice without any ups and downs of emotion in it, his feet stepping closer to the basket.

“Five baskets on the right. Be careful that ...” The man didn't finish his exclamation when his mouth dropped open, looking at Tom in disbelief.

Tom grabbed one basket and stacked it on top of the others very easily. One pile contains two baskets full of vegetables he carries with his right hand. While his left hand was carrying three stacks of baskets full of the remaining vegetables. Then he walked into the market unencumbered as if all he was carrying was a pile of cotton. Immediately he became the focus of people's attention. The saleswoman, Karen, who heard the whispers also turned her head and saw the stunning sight of the young man who had been working with her just a few hours ago.

The attention-grabbing episode is only temporary. Soon everyone was back to their routines and work. As the day wore on and the market began to be empty of consumers, Karen immediately handed an envelope to Tom who was still staring blankly at his wares, after finishing arranging the vegetables. "This is your payment. Thank you for today. You are awesome!” Especially the tens of kilos attraction in his arm earlier.

Tom immediately shook his head. “I don't need money. I want chicken meat, "he said straightforwardly.

"Is that true?"

"Yes. I don't need money.”

Karen frowned at him. But, because Tom was adamant about his desire, she finally wrapped two whole chickens for the young man. Tom thanked him before hurrying off.

Finding an alley empty of people passing by, Tom immediately entered it. He took two chickens out of the wrapper and devoured them with gusto. Until only scattered bones remained, he sighed with satisfaction. Although as a result his mouth was full of blood and smelled fishy. After doing a short cleaning, Tom immediately continued his journey.
