Chapter 6. The Night Market

Tom looked at the street crowded with humans around him then remembered his first experience interacting with them today, he felt it wasn't bad. There may be many good humans like Karen. But, he also believed that there were a lot of bad humans.

Human work turns out to be not difficult at all. Tom only needed to lift the baskets full of light greens and Karen would give him two fresh chickens. Maybe because today he was very hungry, so, the two chickens tasted like the tastiest meal he had in the past year.

Of course, for a young werewolf who was as active and growing as Tom, it wasn't enough to eat just two chickens a day. He needs to eat more. Even though the chicken he had eaten earlier tasted really good, to be honest, he preferred deer with lots of meat. But, relying on his hearing, Tom knew venison wasn't easy to find here. None of the people at the market spoke of venison. It seems humans don't like to eat venison.

Two chickens gave Tom a lot of power. He walked far enough that the sky turned dark. The crowd sounds similar to the morning market caught his attention. His feet took a step closer subconsciously. He could also smell a lot of unique food aromas that he knew for the first time.

"Woi, if you walk, look around!" Someone hit Tom's arm hard and then fell to the ground. He looked at Tom and cursed angrily. He did not know how such a thin-looking young man could have such a rock-solid body. At first, she was looking at her cell phone and accidentally bumped into the young man. But, the pain he felt made his emotions rise. He blamed the young man for causing his pain.

Tom just glanced down at the person, his eyes looked indifferent and uncaring. He was too lazy to even speak up and respond to the unreasonable human in front of him. His feet stepped forward immediately, past him. But, that person didn't want to let go just like that.

The fallen man immediately got up and gripped Tom's shoulder tightly. "Where are you going? You must apologize!” He raised his voice, not to be outdone. How could the young man who caused him to pain just walk away? Even though he was the one who hit first, but, still, it was the young man's fault for causing him pain.

Tom slowly turned his head, showing eyes full of menace, as if he was glaring at the prey fiercely. The man immediately startled and fell again, staring back in horror and terror.

“Monsters!” shouted the man when he saw Tom's eyes flash abnormally.

“Stop you! It was clear that it was not this young man who bumped into you! Don't be crazy!” An old lady who happened to be passing by and saw her finally spoke up.

The man paid no attention at all and immediately got up to run. Moving away from Tom she was looking at him with eyes full of fear.

"Strange people. Do not listen to him! Are you ok?" The grandmother watched Tom with concern.

Tom immediately changed his expression and the look in his eyes returned to normal. "It doesn't matter. Thank you very much, madam,” he replied in a polite voice. Sure enough, although many humans are bad, humans are also not inferior. Even though he could solve the problem on his own without the help of the old woman in front of him, he still thanked him sincerely.

"Yes, you're welcome. What are you doing here alone?" asked the grandmother in surprise, before a few seconds later she smiled seductively. “So you're going to meet your girlfriend at the night market? You guys went here secretly?”

Tom frowned, not knowing how to respond. "I'm alone here."

“All right, all right. I know young people nowadays are shy.” The grandmother nodded her head in understanding. "Then I'll go first. Enjoy your date!”

Tom stared at the back of the old woman who was moving away in silence. What lover? During life. He had never thought of the concept before. All he did was eat, sleep, hunt, and play with his friends.

Turning around, Tom can see colorful lights and many sounds such as bells, children's music, and happy cries. So, this is the night market? He looked around him, not only at adult humans but also at many children. They all laugh happily.

Tom approached the toy like a horse that was set up and then turned around with lots of twinkling lights around it. It did look like a horse, however, had strange colors, was small, and was too cute. Looking at it in detail, he felt that the toy looked nothing like a horse at all. More like soy maybe. He heard the people around him and then knew that the soy-like toy was called a merry-go-round. It is indeed suitable for children to play.

The windmill is a toy that sits next to the carousel. It looks like colorful drums rotating up and down. Most of those riding on the toy were a pair of men and women or what could be called lovers, as the old lady had said. Tom turned his face with an unnatural expression when he saw one of the couples at the top of the pinwheel kissing passionately. Sometimes having keen senses is not a good thing.

There are more toys there. Most of them are adapted for children, such as mini trains that rotate on oval rails and mini planes that move like a merry-go-round. What children don't often visit is probably just a haunted house. Tom could hear screams coming from inside.

After observing the sight that was so new to him, Tom was both amazed and amazed. There are many insignificant things that humans do and they can be happy because of things that are completely useless to them. To be honest, he also often played with his friends. However, most of his time is spent learning how to hunt and fight with his friends. Happiness is when he can beat his friend during practice against his friend.
