"I am the next king of Waylen Kingdom and when I become one, I'll have power and dominion over every creature in this world. It is your duty to obey my orders and follow them without questioning my duty. Slave trade has to stop and I won't let it breed under my nose."

"But the king didn't do anything to stop it."

"I am not my father." The crown prince replied with an air of finality as Amali bowed his head in respect and turned to leave, followed by the crown prince.

Marian is chained to the deck as she is being transferred from the boat to a ship which was waiting for them in the middle of the river. They abandoned their boat and entered the ship. There, Marian is cuffed with other captives as they all look dirty, tired and hungry. They lock them up in one of the rooms in the basement.

Marian can't keep her legs closed nor walk properly when she is brought into the room.

"Was it your first time?" One of the captives asked her after she got seated.

Marian ignored the question neither did she look at the person who asked.

"You dare not ignore our president when she speaks to you!" Another lady spoke up. Marian turned to look at them and that was when she discovered that they were all females.

After her observation, she turned her face away.

"You are very rude and disrespectful!" The girl close to Marian slapped her across the face as Marian hit her head on an iron bucket close to her which gave her a cut on the forehead.

Marian turned to look at the older lady who asked the question then turned to the other lady who spoke to her about not disrespecting the president of the cell.

Still having her eyes fixed on the two of them, Marian used her elbow to hit the girl who slapped her and they broke into a fight.

"Stop! Stop it now!" The president screamed at them.

"Little girl behave yourself or you get thrown into the river! You don't have to tell me if you just lost your virginity but I won't let you bully anyone here! We have been in this shop for forty days and you can't treat any of us here as equals to you!"

The whole room became quiet once again.

"Where are they taking us to?" Marian asked no one in particular after she turned her face away from them.

"The slave establishment in Slorian." A young girl of about the age of Marian replied.

"What next?" She asked further, still not looking at them.

"They will put us up for an auction and sell the youngest and beautiful one of us to a higher bidder." The president replied.

"To?" Marian asked again.

The young girl who spoke earlier looked at the president as she nodded her head, giving her the go ahead to reply to Marian.

"Anyone, but their major customers are the Portugueses or the duke himself."

"What is your name?" The president asked her.

"Marian." She replied to her.

"How did you get into the dungeon?" The president asked her again.

"My father sold me."

"You must be quite a stubborn child." The president remarked as others looked at her with angry eyes.

"Hey, how old are you? I'm twenty." The young girl who was kind to her earlier whispered to her but Marian just looked at her and turned her gaze away.

The guards came in to unchain them and transfer them on another ship again. As they were taking turns to get locked up, Marian spoke to the girl who was beside her.

"Nineteen." Marian replied as the girl smiled at her.

"You are too young to be here. I'm sorry Marian." The girl replied as she was taken away. Marian wondered why the girl apologized as she was the next to be taken away. They locked them all up in another room on another ship but they didn't stay for as long as they could remember.

Awoken by the sound of thunder and rain, Marian tried her best to see past her heavy eyelids until she could barely make out the shape of metal bars in front of her. She blinked once, then pushed her torso up from the wet floor. The little window in the wall allowed the rain to pass through and form a puddle in the room.

Still trying to figure out where she was, she stood up and looked around. She was in an enclosed room with three walls made of stone, metal bars for the fourth wall and a single - window with metal bars that prevented anyone from coming in or going out.

There was no light source in the room but ahead of her, light spilling through the bars from a lantern that must have been placed on the ground.

Going to the railing while trying her best to walk properly z she searched for a way out. When she found a door, she pulled and pushed as hard as she could but the iron gate was locked.

"Is anyone there? Let me out now!" She screamed effortlessly when an annoyed voice Dane from behind the dark which startled her.

"Sit quietly Marian." A feminine voice spoke.

Jumping up in surprise as she was not expecting another person would be here and also how this strange person got to know her name.

"Who are you?" Marian asked as her head jerked to a corner of the room where the frame of a woman emerged from the shadows.

The woman had fiery, red hair that had been tied into a braid which looked familiar to Amdian but she couldn't recognize her because she bent her head on her knee.

"Do I know you?" Marian asked again as the woman raised up her head for Marian to see her.

"Oh! You." Marian spoke as she got relieved and sat down. Relieved that she recognized the woman but not not happy to be in that place.
