Chapter 4

Ryan looked around "There isn't anybody here!"

I shook my head and placed my hands on my hips. "Ryan, I can smell her." I let out a laugh, I should have known better.

"Is this why you called me over here? You didn't want to be with me, you wanted to shove one of your little whores in my face." I started walking back to the door.

"No I do want to be with you, you are the only person that can male me feel...good." I turned around and just looked back at him. He had never admitted it to me but I always knew deep down why he still wanted to keep me around.

Who would have thought that I was apart of a bond and a marrage that was only one sided.

"I'm sorry Ryan. I need to go." I turned around again and went for the door.

Before I opened the apartment door Ryan moved with lightning speed and pushed me against it. "Let me go. I need to leave." I whimpered as he gripped one of my wrists tightly.

"You came here willingly, Brooklyn. And you did it alone." He was right, I did come here willingly, but what he didn't know was that I wasn't alone.

He pulled me roughly away from the door and over to the couch. I no longer wanted to be with him regardless my reasons for showing up.

"Scott!" I hand connecting to my cheek made me realize I had said his name outloud. Ryan's angry eyes looking into my own made me move away from him but he moved with me.

"Who is Scott?" He asked in an angry tone. "And why don't I feel the sparks?" He asked a little softer. I didn't notice that before.

He grabbed my hand again but I flinched because I was positive he had fractured my wrist. "That's your fault, Ryan." I whispered taking my hand from him and holding it with the other.

"I don't understand." He was getting mad again because I wasn't answering his question. I refused to show him what I looked like now.

If he had asked before he had said what he did then I would have told him. Since he and I were with each other last, he hadn't slept with other people but let them pretty much go down on him.

He has ruined my body, I had bruises all over my back and stomach from it, worse since he slept with someone the night before.

Him not noticing the difference in my scent is probably why he didn't know I was pregnant. He was ruining our sacred mate bond and dwindling it to nothing.

I've also noticed his mark on me looked more faint, but I thought that was because of me. Because of how weak my wolf had become.

He grabbed the scarf and pulled me to him. "Let me go, Ryan! I have to go see my dads today, I can't show up with more injuries." I lied to him.

He growled but didn't let me go. He knew my fathers would hurt him if they found out he had physically hurt me.

The Dale family has always hated my family since my mother killed that guy Quentin. My mom and dad had tried to tell me about him after I had found out that Ryan was my mate but I didn't want to know much about it.

I regret that decision now.

Just as Ryan was about to kiss me there was a pounding on his door. He let me go and I took in a breath, if he had kissed me I would have given in.

He stood up and I looked down at my wrist, okay maybe it was just sprained and it looked like it was already bruising. He didn't seem like he was holding it that hard earlier, was I really so weak now? I was pretty much a human with how quickly I bruised.

"What?" I looked up only to see Scott standing there. He pushed Ryan aside and walked in the apartment then over to where I was.

He stood in fromt of me and held out his hand, I looked at Ryan who was seething at the man who had inturupted him from getting his wife in bed.

"Don't look at him" he whispered to me.

I looked back up at Scott. His face always held a cold nature about it and I really wished to see just the faintest of smiles crack on his face. I know I don't really know him but something just drew me in.

I set my hand in his and stood up, I grabbed my bag from the couch and dug into it for the papers that my father gave me last night.

"When I leave. Will you give these to him?" I asked Scott. He walked with me to the door then took the envelope from me.

Once I was secured in the elevator, Ryan must have opened the divorce papers because he began yelling at me through the link.

It was so loud that I had a headache when I got to my car.

If I wasn't pregnant I'd drive to a bar and get drunk flr the rest of today.

I got in and rested my head on the window of the door. How did the mates to the other males in Ryan's family deal with this?

I actually feel like my life has no meaning.

I opened my eyes when the passenger door opened then closed. Scott was sitting there turned to me.

"Hmmm..." He reached over and ran his finger under my nose then showed it to me. Damn it. "That happens sometimes, only when he is really mad at me and won't stop screaming at me." I mumbled digging in my purse for my tissues.

"I don't think that's the reason why." He said. I'm sure he had a theory, Bailey also had one too when she noticed it. I had to make her promise not to tell anybody, but that was after she had told Evan.

"I don't..." I pulled out the small thing of tissues. "It feels like he is killing me. With everything thing he does. He don't want me and yet he don't want me around other men."

"That's the mate bond amoureux! His wolf is possessive over you because you are an Alpha's daughter." I looked over at him. "What is he?" He asked.

"The son of a warrior. His mother I'm not sure, he don't talk about her." He nodded his head. I'm sure if his father did what Ryan is doing now then his mom may not be around or she was stronger than me and rejected his dad.

But I have met Ryan's dad. He was a sweet man, alot sweeter than Ryan himself. Perhaps that was just a show for his son's mate though.

"Can you drive?" I nodded my head but he seemed unsure and didn't seem to want to move from the passenger seat of my car.

"I'm fine, Scott." I gave him a smile, and he gave me a look over before giving me a single nod before getting out and going to his own vehicle.

I didn't go home after we left. I drove right to my parents house, I needed to speak to somebody who had rejected somebody before, someone who wouldn't judge me for how I felt about Ryan no matter what he has done.

When I pulled up grandpa Dan and Samuel were outside gathering logs. I took off my seatbelt and flung my door open.

Ryan was taking his revenge out on me giving him the divorce papers already, I was starting to feel the starting effects of it.

I ran over to my grandpa with tears burning my eyes. He dropped the logs for the fireplace and I crashed into one of them.

I tightened my hold on them as the pain got worse, even my knees were beginning to buckle at how intense it was becoming.

"Let me see if I can heal her?" I was moved from one grandparent to the other one. "It won't work." Poppi whispered with a growl.

"That's because it's her mate that's causing the pain!" I couldn't focus on everybody's voice and where they were coming from.

"I need to talk to mom." I said with a heavy breath. "She isn't here." I felt myself start crying. I came here for advice on what and how I should go about things with Ryan and she isn't here?

"I'll link her Brookie bear." Grandpa Dan stepped away from us, poppie lifted me up into his arms and carried me into the house where it was warm and smelled of cinnamon.

When he walked into the living room mom and my dads had teleported in from who knows where, Jordan was with them too. I didn't like being weak in front of my brothers.

I could handle it with Bailey because she could always tell me to get the hell over it and it would usually work. But not with them, it just made me feel like bursting into tears more.

I was sat down on the couch and Jordan was instantly crouched in front of me holding both of my hands. "I'll take a crowbar to his damn head. You just say the word Brooke."

His emerald green eyes that looked more fierce than my mom's when she was angry. I took in a sharp breath as I fought with myself not to scream, it was more painful today than it was yesterday.

There was more than 1 person with him, perhaps a female and a man this time. "What happened?" Jordan asked me squeezing my hands.

"I gave him the papers." I whispered closing my eyes tightly.

"What else happened? Did you reject him? Is that why this is here?" I opened my eyes to see him lifting up the jacket to reveal my purple wrist.

I took a quick glance at everybody else. "No, I didn't get the chance to. I was only able to give those to him once Scott was able to get into his apartment."

"Wait you didn't go up there with her?" My mother said lookimg at him, he was leaning on the wall tinkering with his phone.

"She left her mind open to me the whole time, when she accidentally said my name aloud I made my way to her." He looked at nobody while he said this, but I'm sure he could hear all of their thoughts because a smirk grew on his face.

I looked back at Jordan who was holding a tissue out for me, I looked at him confused. "Your nose sissy." I took it and wiped away the blood.

"That's it, I'm killing him." My mother ran out of the room after my dad. For the past few years now I'm sure I was their biggest worry since dad told me that mom had told them about her vision with Ryan and another woman.

Going to visit uncle Damien the summer after I turned 18 was the best and worst year of my life.

The burning pain in my chest was starting to make me nauseous, I let go of Jordan's hand and got up covering my mouth. I went right for the bathroom closest to me and let it all out.

But what I seen in the toilet bowl horrified me.

I flushed it down prying that this was just a one time occurrence and got back up rinsing my mouth out with some water.
