CHAPTER 7- WICKED SEDUCTION
For a moment, I was dumbfounded by his statement and immediately dismissed him for doing his job. However, his words continued to bother me, even when I was working in front of the computer.
At that time, it appeared as though Lee was excellent, and it made me wonder whether or not he was handsome. It must have occurred to him that I’d been studying him from a distance and had glanced in my direction. Suddenly, I became uncomfortable in my seat. I had to push myself to smile at him, but he had the opposite reaction.
Finally, when our eyes met, I panicked when he stood up and walked towards me. Oh no! I glared at him for a second, but it wasn’t enough to stop him. “So, how’s the job, Lee? Who are we meeting tonight?” I referred to his assignment regarding the issue of my impending marriage. Lee had lowered his head to mine, and his eyes were staring directly at my cleavage. The fact that he had been able to sneak up on me was surprising to me, and I let out a gasp.
“Perhaps you should dress appropriately when you’re working,” he complained about my clothes.
“There’s nothing wrong with my outfit, Lee. Stop being overbearing in my territory!”
“Territory? Are you a mob or something? I’m just saying this because I’m concerned. Look at yourself in the mirror, Miss Montes. Everyone can see how gifted you are in that area,” he said while his eyes never left my cleavages.
“You know what, if you want to keep your job, you should mind your own business,” I reminded him for the nth time.
“Your future husband may not like your outfit if he’s going to see it,” he reasoned.
“Then, I will have to wear this kind of outfit every day!”
“You are crazy, Miss Montes. Or should I add how spoiled you are? You are a brat that needs someone to rear you into the right path,” he added.
“Maybe, however, it’s not part of your job to instill discipline into me. Perhaps, you should read again what was written in your job description,” I said, and the corner of his eyes moved a little. Was he mad? I attempted to seem unconcerned when I was talking to Lee. “By the way, if you have nothing else to do, why don’t you go outside and grab some fresh air? I think you badly needed it,” I suggested.
Lee squinted his eyes at me and remarked in a little offended tone. “Really? Or you’re waiting for someone to come here and scratch your itch,” he stated maliciously.
“How dare you!” I hissed at him.
“As your bodyguard, I have to look after you, and that attire you’re wearing is bothering me! Any man who will see you in that outfit would crave to you have in their bed,” he continued to explain.
“My clothes have nothing to do with that, and please stop talking about another man when it is so obvious that it’s you, and only you, who’s bothered with my outfit. Why? Do you want me in your bed, Lee?”
“Yes, absolutely,” he admitted the truth, and he was never ashamed to do so.
I arched my eyebrows in response and asked, “Really?”
“Yes. I think you’re going to be great in bed, considering how much you love to play with yourself. So, next time, make an effort to wear appropriate clothing when you are outside your sanctuary.” Then, he snorted before getting to his feet and making his way back to the table he occupied temporarily.
His remarks were offensive, so I followed him to his table. “Never forget your place, Lee!” I chastised him for expressing his arrogance inside my office. “I think it’s better for both of us if you will just quit your job.”
“I’m different from your past bodyguards, Selena, and if you believe that your harsh comments may prevent me from completing my duty, I am sorry to be the one to let you down.” He replied with a disapproving expression as if he were a harsh bodyguard who wouldn’t let me get away with anything.
He pronounced my name in a way that annoyed me. “Selena? You dared to call me by my first name?”
“Yes, and you should also do the same. It’s only proper for both of us to be less formal,” he decided.
For a moment, I could stare at him! He was entirely out of his mind! He felt no shame about crossing the threshold of our employer-employee relationship. “Oh, my God! You are truly impossible, Lee! I despise you!”
“Why don’t you focus on your business for the time being and scold me later,” he suggested.
He’s daring for a typical bodyguard, and I wondered what’s gotten into him. “Ah, you must be acting high and mighty around me because of my father or your backer, but let me remind you that I am still your boss!”
“Did I say otherwise?” He asked.
I was about to scold him some more when the door opened, and one of my staff entered with an uncomfortable expression on her face. “What is it, Keira?”
“Good morning, Miss Montes. I received an email from our contractor about some of the boxes,” she replied shyly.
“Come here and give me the details,” I answered. “Hmmm, Mr. Lee? Can you get us some coffee, please?” The man frowned upon my order, but he couldn’t run his filthy mouth when another person was in the office. “So, what is it again?”
“I have forwarded the email and photos to you, Ma’am, but I’m worried it went to your spam folder,” Keira replied.
“When did you sent it to me?”
“Yesterday afternoon.”
“Oh, I see. Wait a minute,” I said while tapping on my computer to check my email. There’s nothing new in the inbox, and Keira’s name was not on yesterday’s mails. So, I went to check the folder for spam messages. “It’s really in the spam messages!”
“I will just wait for your advice about their claims, Miss Montes.”
“Wait. In your opinion, what do you think has happened to the boxes?”
“Well, we have photos before loading the boxes, and the contractor also has photos of when they stripped it from the container. There were no damaged boxes that time, so I think those items were not properly sealed inside the box.”
“And it means we have no liabilities towards the customer,” I stated a fact.
“Yes, Miss Montes, but she was adamant in her claim that we were negligent and our service was lousy.”
“Goodness! Why the hell did she say that? Did she investigate?”
“I don’t think so, Miss Montes. The customer is angry, and she’s been calling us for his refund since yesterday.”
“I understand,” I said, but when I looked around, the bodyguard who fetched our coffee wasn’t back yet. “I will ask him to deliver your cup once he’s back. Inform Juris to order some pizza for the snacks at ten,” I added.
“Noted on that, Miss Montes. I’ve got to go now.”
“Sure. I will send my response in a minute, but if ever the customer will call, pass him to me, and I will talk to him.”
“Thank you, Ma’am,” Keira said before leaving.
When Lee returned, he frowned again when I told him to deliver Keira’s cup to her area. Nevertheless, he went ahead to give it to my staff. I smirked at the possibility that they would be giggling with excitement over the fact that I hired a man to be in the office.
An office romance? No, it wouldn’t be possible in my office because we were all girls. My staff were all women, and it was one of the reasons why we were so dependent on reliable contractors.
“I think you need to hire more staff,” he stated as soon as he returned from delivering Keira’s coffee.
