Chapter 12 Emily's POV
Emily's POV
"Are you sure?" Owen asked, and chuckled.
Obviously, he didn't take what I said seriously.
When he reached out his hand to me, I took a step back and asserted, "I'll tell you again our relationship is over."
I turned around and was about to leave when Owen caught up with me and blocked my way. He asked sternly, "Do you mean it?"
I tried my best to calm down. "Of course. I mean every word I said. It's absolutely true."
"Why?" Owen was clearly not in a good mood now, as if he was about to get angry.
I couldn't understand him. What was there to be angry about? I should be the one who was angry at being deceived by him.
"No reason!" I turned to leave once more. The image of him accompanying his wife surfaced in my mind and aroused an inexplicable feeling in my heart.
Owen retorted mockingly from behind, "Sorry for disturbing your date with some other man, then!"
"Or maybe you're tired of me and want to spend time with someone else instead!"
Even though Owen's words were so harsh, I couldn't be bothered to explain myself. I decided to leave without saying anything else. Owen didn't chase after me or pester me otherwise.
Nora wasn't done having fun, so I just left her a message saying that I had to go back first.
By the time I was home, it was already midnight.
I was lying in bed and couldn't fall asleep. My mind was filled with thoughts about Owen.
"Something's not quite right with you," Nina pointed out. "Be honest. You don't want to end your relationship with Owen, do you?"
"I want to," I immediately refuted her.
"Really?" Nina definitely didn't believe what I said.
There was a pause before I said, "Fine. I'll admit I didn't want to break up with Owen."
"He's the first man I slept with. He is the only man I've had sex with so far. When I'm alone, he's the only one I can remember."
"Besides, no one would want to give up a man who's so handsome, flawless and amazing in bed. At the very least, he can satisfy my basic needs. But... if he really has a wife, and a pregnant one at that, I would definitely end it all with him."
Nina said, "Dearest, this is the right way of going about this. Why don't you find something to distract yourself?"
"Yeah, I should." I took my phone and began to browse the Internet. Soon, I saw Jeremy sharing something on social media.
He shared a total of two photos. One was of Beef Wellington, and the other a bunch of roses.
I zoomed in on the photos and a piece of clothing was peeking out next to the roses.
I recalled seeing it in that crazy private room. It was Blake's.
The caption under the photos read, "Thank you for the dinner, my beloved. I love you so."
I couldn't help but sigh. "Blake must have all the stamina in the world to spend two hours alone with 10 human men."
"And he still has time and energy to go home and appease his lover."
Now, I wasn't sad or hurt at all about Blake's private life. In fact, I didn't care about him anymore.
I only felt that it was simply ridiculous.
I felt I was a ridiculous person too. Why did I give up all my love for a scumbag like him? Was the Moon Goddess' blessing just as ridiculous? Why did she want to pair me with someone who only liked men? It didn't make sense.
Anyway, the listening device on Blake's phone was still functional.
I turned on the audio of what it was currently recording, only to be greeted by the sound of Jeremy moaning.
I couldn't continue listening and turned off my phone immediately, but I made sure to save the recording.
It had been a rough day. I immediately closed my eyes and was ready to sleep.
Just as darkness was about to overcome my consciousness, I heard something move near my window. I was too tired to investigate.
But soon I felt a gust of cold wind blow into my quilt and lift it up. A pair of arms were surrounding my body.
I immediately opened my eyes. "Who is it?"
I squirmed around out of reflex. I felt someone's head pressed against my chest.
Once a familiar breath filled up my nostrils, I knew who the intruder was.
"What are you doing here?! Get out!" I tried to push Owen's body away.
He ignored me and tightened his embrace. "Keep it down, Emily."
I didn't listen to him and continued struggling against his grip.
It was easy for the man to roll over and bury me under his body. As an alpha, he was much stronger than me. I was no match for him at all.
Since I couldn't break free, I gave up on resisting him.
"Didn't we already agree to end our relationship?" I said.
"The end of our relationship is up to me to decide," Owen said with an insufferable tone.
I was incredulous. "On what grounds?!"
Owen let out a dastardly smile. "You can't break free from my grip now. It only takes one lift of my finger to control you. So all the other men you like will have to wait for their turn."
"The day I hate you so much will be their time to shine."
"You're so shameless," I chided.
Owen wasn't upset. Instead, he went up to my ear and said, "I can be more shameless."
He restrained my arms with one hand and went under my pajamas with the other. My body was electrified as soon as his slender fingers pinched my bosom.
He kissed my earlobe and collarbone, leaving me in a confused state once more.
My body didn't resist. I was actually longing for his passion.
He whispered into my ear, "It's so wet. Your mouth says you're resisting me, but your body begs to differ." His fingers were trampling on the most sensitive part of my groin.
The intense stimulation of that area brought me to my senses. I immediately shouted at him, "Stop right now!"
Owen didn't listen to me at all. His fingers were moving faster and faster.
"Stop, please…" I pleaded, but it was too late. "Mm…"
I was in a state of quasi-euphoria as a white light flashed across my brain.
