Part Three- Chapter 55
"The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown."
-H.P. Lovecraft, Supernatural Horror in Literature.
AT KONRAD'S WAREHOUSE...
At one of his warehouses, Konrad growled repeatedly in rage. Pacing back and forth, he clenched and unclenched his fists, unable to digest what had happened today.
He had it all planned.
Darya would trouble Quillon enough for him to sacrifice his life. He was certain it would work after he had hypnotized the other Alphas'. Everything was almost going fine until somehow Quillon decided his mate wasn't worth saving!
Mates are supposed to love each other or so, Konrad had thought. However, looking at what happened today he wasn't certain about it.
Compressing his mouth into a thin, hard line, he violently upturned a nearest couch.
He knew Quillon was bluffing. He wouldn't actually kill his mate. But if push comes to shove, Quillon might have gone through it and Konrad did not want that. Darya is strong as long as she has Quillon beside her. If he goes out of the picture, then she is nothing but putty in his hands.
Even though his primary enemy was Darya, Konrad couldn't get to her without taking Quillon out of the way!
That's why he had hypnotized those wolves but the bastard had some ridiculous kind of power that saved all their lives. Konrad wanted an internecine today and he got nothing. That felt like a slap to him and unable to take it, he spread apart his hands and snarled in rage.
He couldn't get to those wolves, to Darya as long as Quillon is protecting them. He has to get rid of that bastard first. Konrad was prepared to do anything but only problem, he couldn't kill Quillon, the very same way Quillon cannot kill him.
If Konrad kills Quillon, then all his plans will go kaput. No wolf will willfully surrender to him and his dream of creating his own kind to rule the world will be just a dream!
Curling his fingers to form a fist, he slammed his hand against the wall, which cracked from the force.
Quillon fucking Sanders. His plan to make Quillon sacrifice his life was almost close to success until...
Quinton Sanders!
Konrad's mouth curled upwards nastily when he thought about that wolf. He had always thought the younger one was a useless wimp but that little piece of shit had come to help Quillon today. It is because of his help, Quillon was able to stop Darya.
He wanted to kill that mutt as well!
Turning his head, he looked at Sanity, who was sitting quietly on the stairs and watching him, waiting for him to say something.
In a flash, Konrad moved and stood right in front of her.
With his hand he motioned for Vincent to come forward and Vincent, who was standing in one corner of the room, marched ahead like a robot.
"Tell me, what happens next" Konrad asked, him without taking his eyes off Sanity.
"Death" Vincent replied loudly and Konrad smirked.
"How many?"
"Too many"
"What about Quillon Sanders?" Konrad asked and Vincent closed his eyes to look at Quillon Sanders future.
All he saw was Quillon wounded and swathed in blood, with a defeated expression in his face.
"Surrender or Sacrifice?" Konrad probed shamelessly.
Vincent saw it. A pyre right in front of Quillon who was watching it with anguished eyes as he bowed his head! Vincent saw Darya screaming. Vincent saw a little boy crying. He saw a blinding light. He saw a woman dropping on her knees and sobbing as the mark in her neck disappears. He saw Quillon making a life changing decision.
"Sacrifice" Vincent answered numbly to the question his master asked him.
Konrad smirked in satisfaction when he heard that.
Pleased to hear it as well, Sanity stood on the stairs to be in the same level as him and looked at him expectantly. In her eyes, Konrad saw unquestionable loyalty which made him proud.
"Bring me the brother's head" Konrad commanded to her and one side of Sanity's lips curled upwards. She could easily take down Quinton Sanders.
Ekon, who was standing quietly near the door, paled when he heard that. "Quinton?" he whispered quietly.
"Quillon loves his brother very much. I want to see him break down after the death of his little brother" Konrad hissed. "He took everything from me and now, I will take everything from him" Konrad swore maliciously.
The monster inside him trembled violently.
Injustice has been happening to him from years and now, he wanted justice, Konrad decided furiously. The Alphas' had killed his family and now, he will they will understand what it is like to lose family.
A growl emanated from his throat and Konrad slammed his fist on the rails of the stairs to compose himself. However, he couldn't and so he turned and dropped on his knees.
"Kill everyone from his family. His pack" Konrad snarled furiously and his nails elongated and turned black. He twisted his neck to suppress the beast but found it hard because his wolf wanted out and show these people the true meaning of wrath!
"Maxwell is already out to do that" Sanity replied while watching him control his shift.
She had seen Konrad's wolf. A wolf that was taller, muscular and powerful than any wolf she had seen before. The only problem, the wolf didn't recognize anybody. It just wanted its insatiable blood lust sated.
"What about the boy?" Sanity then asked through gritted teeth. The little boy, who had been crying nonstop and screaming for his parent's, had stopped after she had knocked him out! Sanity hated children, especially the screaming ones!
Konrad's shirt started tearing as his bones cracked and dark, foggy grey fur covered his muscles. His eyes rounded and turned dark as he uttered the next words, looking at Ekon... "Kill her family too."
Ekon closed his eyes in pain and bowing his head in shame, he nodded just before Konrad shifted into his monstrous wolf.
The nine feet tall werewolf stood menacingly and growled rampantly, which caused the bulb in the room to burst. Baring his fangs he snapped his jaws and then ran out breaking through the door.
Ekon gulped when he saw that.
Konrad left loose like that wasn't a good thing because he could kill anybody at the moment. Anybody!
As his heart thudded in fear, he looked away and pressed a fist to his mouth. He didn't know what to do, how to warn Darya. While pondering over that, he decided that he had to warn them somehow that Konrad was out there ready to attack anyone he sees.
While Ekon attempted to sneakily pull out his phone and call Darya, Konrad's clone appeared out of nowhere. His clone who had been invisible so far, appeared from his hiding place. Harshly pulling the phone from Ekon's hands, the clone dropped it to the ground and grinned cruelly after hearing the cracking noise, which made Ekon gulp.
The clone was dangerous too because it is Konrad. The clone was completely in sync with Konrad and often thinks the same thing that Konrad wants to do! It's scary as fuck for others but the demonic creatures enjoy it!
The clone shook his head in warning and pale as milk, Ekon nodded.
Narrowing his eyes in a suspicious way, the clone glared at Ekon before turning to leave... Ekon had no idea where! However, he was glad the clone was out of his sight!
Vincent followed after that creature and Ekon closed his eyes in disbelief! He didn't know what was going to happen next but he did know it is going to change lives of everyone involved.
Including his... his life with Meryl.
She had forgiven him, given him a second chance, but Ekon knew he wasn't worthy of that because despite everything, he returned to the world he desperately wanted to stay away from!
Shaking his head, Ekon wiped that thought from his head and then saw the teenage girl in the room, walking around.
