Part two- Chapter 9
“I wanted to eat her pain, take it into me and make it my own.”
― Ann Patchett, The Patron Saint of Liars

I ran as fast as my feet could take me. Sel was hurt and I knew she needed me. I just wanted to see her and make sure she is okay.
I am going to hunt and kill the person who hurt her but first I needed to make sure she was okay.
I met Vernon who was standing outside the club. “Where is she?” I asked him growling and he immediately took a step back.
“Alpha Granel has arrived and he is taking her to the doctor in his car”. Another thunderous growl escaped from my chest. I didn’t want anyone harming her. I needed to see her.
I ran ahead and Granel was carrying a very faint and unconscious Sel in his arms. “Give her to me” I growled and immediately took Sel from Granel holding her in my arms. “Call the doctor” I yelled and got inside the car placing Sel in my lap with her head resting against my chest.
She was stabbed in the chest, her heart missing by a few inches. Someone had already removed the knife but her blue dress was covered with her blood and she was bleeding continuously. I swear, I will fucking kill the person who dared to hurt her.
“Who removed her knife?” I asked with a growl.
“I did” Granel whispered and I growled. Didn’t the guy know the first aid treatment when you are stabbed?
“Why isn’t she healing?” I asked Granel who was driving the car. Raven and Tyson were also there in the car. Tyson repeatedly kept looking back at Sel while Raven was weeping silently beside me. Granel was driving beyond the speed limit holding the steering wheel tightly.
“Take this” Raven said handing me a small towel which I pressed against her wound. Within seconds the towel was covered with blood.
“Come on baby, wake up” I whispered to her and pushed a strand of her hair behind her ears after kissing her temples. She was sweating and it had me anxious.
“Did you call the doctor?” Tyson asked Granel.
“Yes. He is waiting for us in the house” he replied.
“Then drive faster” I snapped at Granel. I looked down at Sel whose breathing was very slow. “Please stay with me” I whispered to her and nestled my nose against her cheeks. “Please baby” I said again. My heart was beating rapidly in my chest and my wolf was pacing inside me. He wanted to kill the one who hurt her.
Her lips were pale and her hands were cold. I didn’t want to lose her. I was scared. “Sel” I called and repeatedly patted her cheeks.
My eyes were getting glassy and I tried my best to stay composed. I had to be strong for us.
“What? What is happening to Sel?” Tyson asked with concern.
“We are here” Granel said opening the driver seat door. He got out, rushed and opened the passenger door for me. Holding Sel in my arms, I rushed inside Granel’s house where a doctor was already there.
“Take her to that room” he said pointing to at the first room to his right and I nodded. I placed her gently on the bed and stood next to the bed.
“Duncan, you have to go out” Raven told me and I growled at her. I will not leave Sel here alone. “I will be here with her. Please just wait outside” she said in a hurry but I shook my head.
“I am staying here” I said firmly and held Sel’s cold hands. “She needs me”. I couldn’t leave her. I will not leave her.
“Duncan, if you stay here your wolf will not appreciate the doctor touching her and we need to tend her injuries soon, so please” Raven begged and I looked at Sel once.
“Duncan, we will be right outside the door” Granel assured me.
“Fine” I agreed. “If anything happens to my mate then I am going to kill you” I threatened the doctor and left the room. Raven quickly closed the room door.
Twenty minutes later, I was pacing outside the room continuously waiting for the doctor to come out. My patience was wearing out and every second felt like an hour. I knew I would break that door soon if they wouldn’t come out. I was repeatedly running my hands in my hair to calm myself.
I wanted Sel to just open her eyes and smile at me once so that I could see those beautiful dimples. I knew I will never be able to forgive myself, if anything happens to her today. I promise I would do everything to keep her safe in the future, but just I wanted my mate back.
I was gulping and blinking repeatedly to stop my tears.
Granel was sitting in the couch with his face covered in his palms while Tyson was in a call talking with Sel’s parents. Both looked like they had passed through a storm. My pack members were outside in the porch. I had asked them to go but they still followed me here.
I knew that Seline was stabbed because of me and whoever did this was involved with the guy and the she-wolf who has escaped. Hurting my mate just to stop me is cruel and something which will never be forgiven.
The room door opened and the doctor came out. I looked at him eagerly waiting for him to assure to me that Seline was okay. “She is fine” he said and I relaxed. I was breathing again and felt relieved to hear those words. “The cut wasn’t very deep but since she lost a lot of blood, she fell unconscious and hence her wolf refused to heal itself but now she is fine and taking rest. You can take her to your home after she gets up” he told me. I nodded and rushed inside the room.
Seline was sleeping in the bed and Raven was sitting right beside her. There was a huge bandage over her wound. I walked and sat on the other side pulling a chair closer to the bed while Raven left the room to see Granel. I held her hands and kissed her knuckles.
“You are fine” I said and rubbed my hands softly on her dark hair. She stirred a little but didn’t open her eyes. My wolf calmed down a bit and sighed inside me. “I love you” I told her and kissed her forehead.
Just then Tyson walked in and he stared at her intently. There was genuine worry in his face and he almost looked pale. “Her parents will be here as soon as possible” he said and walked towards Sel.
I nodded and held Sel’s hand softly.
“She is okay right?” he asked in a whisper as if he needed to be assured that she is okay.
“Yes” I replied and he sighed.
“I thought I lost her” he whispered and gulped. I didn’t miss a drop of tear that escaped from his eye. Just then Raven came to the room holding a clean shirt in her hands.
“Duncan, you need to change” she told me looking at my black shirt that had Sel’s blood everywhere. I hesitated in taking the shirt since I didn’t want to leave Sel. “I will be here” she told smiling softly and I nodded.
Two hours later, we decided to shift Seline to her apartment. I wanted her with me but her sentinel of a brother, Tyson, wasn’t okay with it. I glared harshly, but agreed to it because Darya will be alone in the apartment if I take Sel with me. Her wounds were healed and doctor said that she is going to wake up in a few hours.
I stayed in her room and slept on the couch in her room, while the Sentinel slept in the living room couch. Darya never came out of her room regardless of Tyson knocking her room door. I didn’t appreciate her behavior, but let it slip because my first worry was Sel.
My pack members were waiting for me in my apartment but I didn’t want to leave Sel.
Around one in the morning, I went to meet my pack after assigning two members of my pack to guard her which Tyson openly frowned upon.
“O isn’t alone” I said harshly. We were in my apartment sitting in the dining table and some guys were in the couch.
“What?” Vernon asked me shocked. “How do you know it is O?”
“The rogues are murdered in the same way as my dad was” I clarified.
“Plus I found this” Nick said and showed a silver coin with Executioners written in it. He handed me the coin and I looked at it. There was no doubt that this was O.
“The bastard isn’t alone. It’s a group” I said.
“Possible” Nick agreed.
“How many do you think are there?” Fox asked me.
“Right now I am sure of three” I said growling. “One is the guy that I chased, another one came to help him and the third one stabbed Seline” I said holding the glass table in a tight grip. “There is a girl among them” I said and they all looked at me in disbelief.
I can never forget the black wolf that I had seen today or also the way she responded to the guys whistle.
“Do you have any footage of today?” Vernon asked Fox.
“It was controlled through computer. I think someone might have inserted some chip in the main plug and that was how they were able to control the lights of the whole area. Everything was planned” Fox replied with a growl.
“The bastards are good” Jackson spat.
“Then we have to be the best” I said.
