6. The New Boss
Happy Reading . . .
The sound of applause could be heard from the employees who were inside in the meeting room, ushering in the figure of Jamie McCarter who walked up to the podium at the front of the room.
“It’s been thirty years, this company has been established and will continue increase in size year after year. There have been many changes big thing also happened, while I was a leader. Thirty years is not a little time. And right now, it’s time for me to surrender my trust, to someone who really believes also, and ready to jump directly in a leadership. After just finished his education and earned a master’s degree with grades the best, I am very proud of my son. And now, you can meet your new leader. With great pride I am introduce, Duke McCarter.”
Jamie, the owner of McCarter & co., who will step down from his throne as a leader and also the owner of the company towards the child beloved, Duke McCarter. And Jamie’s position behind the podium too immediately replaced by the figure of the child. A figure since that man stepped foot into the meeting room, already gives a sense of arrogance, so rigid towards employees who was there.
Including with Savannah who can really feel clear against such an atmosphere. Such a clear attitude conveyed by her new boss, made Savannah keep thinking about what to do next fate would work for such a man. The man who’s been seen does not have that friendly nature, she will meet every day.
“I don’t have much to tell you. Just one thing, do your best if you don’t want the career you have it ends here.”
What a very arrogant leader, the one thing Savannah values and know that she really does not like a man who has a character like that. And after a while the short message delivered by Duke, a welcoming event as well as the introduction of company leaders that simple nature has ended. Also seen a few employees who attended the welcoming approached the leader the new one is for congratulating.
But not with Savannah. She prefers to rush out from the room and immediately approached the figure of Dylan who had he saw earlier in the meeting room but quickly direct comes back out when Jamie proudly calls Duke a son which he is proud of and loves so much. And while Savannah clearly immediately rushed out from the room, duke could see clearly that his assistant chose to leave for some reason. But Duke knows that his assistant prioritizes something that doesn’t related to himself and his work.
And with that, the man immediately raised the torture flag which he will give to the assistant while she is working for him, for having dared Savannah to do anything else that wasn’t related to his work. And it’s very clear here that Duke really doesn’t like it when one of his employees doesn’t such a professional. Especially now that Savannah’s status is one his closest employee, who is none other than his assistant.
“Dylan...” Called Savannah from a distance when she found the existence of the man she had been looking for.
Savannah already knew he was in a bad mood, then the one place that sure guy only goes. Namely, rooftops which is on the top floor of the office building. But call all that woman gave was taken for granted, because of Dylan seen only leaning his hands on the guardrail on the edge the rooftop. Seeing Dylan being like that made Savannah stepped his foot toward the whereabouts of the man and he immediately Hugging Dylan from behind and tightening the hug on the man’s waist.
“Are you okay?” Asked Savannah who was trying to invite spoke Dylan.
“What do you think?”
“Hmm..., I think..., your feelings are not clear, can’t be pictured, and not well.”
“I hate my life.”
“Dy…, don’t talk like that. I don’t like hearing that.”
“I really don’t even want to think about it. But, listen those words just now, somehow my heart still hurts.”
“I understand.”
Not long after hearing the woman’s reply, Dylan turned around body and returned to hug her body tightly around his waist.
“What do you think? He’s so annoying, right? Haughty, arrogant, he is a dictator.”
“Yes. And I will work for someone like that.”
“Will you stand it?”
“I don’t know yet, because I haven’t lived it.”
“From your point of view. What can you see?”
“Looks like I’m going to enter the gate of his torture. But what can I do, Dy? I still want to keep thinking about my career. I’ve only been building it for two years, and I know it’s not easy. I’ve worked hard on all of that.”
“Even if there is a big problem in front of you, you will still defend it?”
“I will try to keep it up.”
“You’re really stubborn, you know?”
“But you really love me, don’t you?”
“Really loving you. Can I kiss you?”
“Since when did you start asking permission like this, huh?” Ask Savannah with a hint of satire in it.
A smile appeared on both lips that accompanied the start of a small kiss which started with a kiss, and gradually changed more and more being crushed until both of them began to forget a little where at this time they are.
