Chapter 2 Terrible man

"Mom, is this woman crazy? How can she still laugh like that?" Stella looked at her with disgust. "Hurry up and find a wedding dress for her to send to Nicholas."

"Hey, someone come and give her a bath," Avery frowned. "She looks like a ghost!"

Several maids rushed over and pulled her up from the ground. Caroline numbly closed her eyes and didn't struggle.

Her clothes were stripped off, and cold water was poured on her body, but Caroline only moved her eyes slightly.

Despite it being winter, she was made to wear a thin wedding dress. Caroline trembled with cold, but still didn't resist.

After a while, John brought her a cup of water with "something" added to it and poured it into her mouth without explanation. Caroline still didn't struggle.

However, as she was forcibly dragged out of the door, she suddenly turned back and coldly smiled at Peter and Avery: "You gave me a life, and now I have repaid it. From now on, let's see each other as strangers!"

An hour later, the bodyguard threw the pale Caroline into the Johnson family's house. The servant looked at her expressionlessly, as if evaluating something.

The two bodyguards were very obsequious to her and greeted her: "Hello, this is the daughter of the Collins family, and Mr. Nicholas’s fiancee. As for how to treat her, it depends on Mr. Nicholas's mood."

They sounded as if they were hoping for Caroline to be killed.

"Well, then you can take her to Mr. Nicholas's room," the servant said coldly and stopped looking at the miserable Caroline.

A few minutes later, Caroline was thrown roughly onto a large bed.

The two bodyguards snorted and left without looking back.

Caroline closed her eyes in despair, knowing that she could not escape tonight.

The bedroom had only a small bedside lamp on, which made it somewhat dim. By the faint light, you could tell that the layout and decoration were simple. The sound of running water could be heard from the bathroom. Wait, was that fierce man taking a shower in there?

She was already 23 years old and had never imagined herself marrying a man she had never met before. All she knew was that the man's name was Nicholas and that he had a terrifying personality. Even though he was wealthy, no one wanted to be his wife. Did the five women before her really die at his hands?

Suddenly, the sound of water stopped, and then the man's steady footsteps slowly walked towards the bedroom.Caroline's heart suddenly jumped, and the blood in her body rushed to her head. She opened her eyes wide and tried to look towards the bathroom. From her angle, all she could see was a tall man.

She couldn't see his face clearly, but he could definitely see her. Caroline remembered that her wedding dress was very exposed, so she quickly sat up and clumsily covered her chest.

"If I remember correctly, the woman from the Collins family, Stella Collins, doesn't look like you, does she?" the man said coldly. His voice was surprisingly pleasant, like a cello, and it made people involuntarily intoxicated.

Caroline's heart suddenly trembled, and she was about to speak, but the man suddenly reached over and touched the switch. The room was illuminated by the light.

The crystal lamp emitted a dazzling light, and the strong light made Caroline close her eyes uncomfortably. When she opened her eyes again, she happened to see Nicholas's face.

That was an extremely beautiful face with flawless white skin. The nose was straight and tall, and the eye sockets were deep. The thin lips were curved with a playful smile.

He lifted her delicate chin with one hand and sensually caressed her face with the other. Finally, his gaze rested on her crimson lips. "You look very young, and you're probably still a virgin. Did you accept benefits from the Collins family to come here and replace Stella?"

Suddenly, a hint of anger appeared in the man's eyes. "Well, the Collins family is trying to deceive me. They are fuck interesting!"

"No, no...I'm really the daughter of the Collins family," whispered Caroline with a trembling voice.

But wasn't Mr. Nicholas blind? He seemed to be perfectly fine, with no problems at all. However, the man's dangerous aura made her naturally afraid and eager to escape.

But she couldn't. She didn't have the strength to run away, and she didn't want to be sacrificed in vain since the Collins family had treated her this way. She had to do something.

"Is that so?" The man raised an eyebrow and looked at her suspiciously.

"You're Mr. Nicholas, right? I'm indeed Peter Collins's daughter. My name is Caroline, and I'm...elder sister of Stella. For certain reasons, I just came back to the Collins family," Caroline explained.

It was a bit difficult for her to say this, and she was out of breath when she finished.

"The eldest daughter of the Collins family?" The man stared at her intently.

Caroline couldn't help but tremble, but she tried hard to stay calm and meet his gaze. The atmosphere suddenly became awkward.

However, soon, a layer of fine sweat appeared on Caroline's back. The man's gaze made her feel like she was sitting on pins and needles.

She thought the man wouldn't speak again, but he smiled, "Well, okay."

Suddenly, the handsome face softened, and his smile is like the warm sun that appears in winter, which can dispel all the cold.

"Caroline." The man straightened up and said in a pleasant voice, "From now on, you don't need to call me Mr. Nicholas. You are my wife, Nicholas Johnson's wife, and you don't need to be so submissive. Now, go take a bath, and I'll wait for you here."

Nicholas deliberately emphasized the pronunciation of the words "wait for you," with a teasing tone.

Caroline blinked, quickly understood what he hinted at, and her face turned red involuntarily. She lowered her head and said awkwardly, "I'm sorry...I can't stand up now."

"Well why? Seeing me, you are so scared?" Nicholas's eyes flashed with a playful light as he stared at her, "Or do you want me to help you undress?"

Without waiting for Caroline's answer, he walked up to her, "I won't refuse your offer."

After he finished speaking, he reached out to undress Caroline.

The quality of the cheap wedding dress wasn't very good, and Nicholas's lack of patience, he actually ripped it off.
