CHAPTER 6 Justin Stephen's Fiancée
"Miss, the car has arrived. Let's go."
The housekeeper was the only one who accompanied her to the party today. The two of them got into the luxury car and slowly rode to the Stephen family mansion. Along the way, the housekeeper didn't forget to remind Amanda about what she had to do at the party. Actually, not much, just a few rules on the table.
When the two arrived, the other ladies had also arrived. Compared to the day of the party, it was much less. They were all well-dressed, holding letters of invitation to enter the mansion. The old butler couldn't get inside, he just told Amanda to be careful and then went back to the car.
The scene before her made Amanda a little breathless. Although it is said that the scale of this party is not equal to the previous night's gala, it is still very formal. Sure enough, the Stephen family grew up in the upper class. Just one party but they can do just like that. A servant saw Amanda from the outside, and he quickly came over, guiding her inside. To tell the truth, Amanda was still not used to this kind of party. In her mind, a blind - date is simply two people who don't know each other, talking, learning, and eating together. She never thought that she would attend a party with so many other girls. Amanda, who was never confident in herself, now feels even more like she has no chance at all.
Inside the hall, the rich ladies began to talk to each other again. Amanda's appearance made them suspicious, how the hell would someone like Amanda show up at this important party?
"Hey, how did you get here? Can't only those who are invited come here today? Don't tell me you were invited by Justin himself."
Amanda was sitting on a chair, heard someone ask her a question, and looked up. Another group of rich ladies came to bother her. Amanda didn't answer, didn't even want to look at those ladies' faces. She stood up, grabbed a glass of white wine, and leaned away.
"Hey, don't go so early. Show us your invitation. Didn't you have the invitation to come here?"
A hand grasped Amanda's. It seems that these ladies have no intention of letting her leave. The real trouble, she told herself. Amanda was tired of the ladies who only put others down. Maybe they don't have something better to do?
"What's wrong? Or is it that you don't have an invitation but still come here? A monster like you, come here to make fun of us? I think it's more suitable for the Mohini family to sell you to the circus. Especially with this scary face of yours."
The words that those ladies said, became more and more bitter. Amanda jerked her hand back, ignoring her mother's threat. She wants to get out of here. But suddenly, an arm wrapped around her waist, preventing Amanda from leaving. Warm, hard arms, like a wall protecting Amanda.
"Why did you leave so early? The party hasn't even started yet."
The low, raspy sound made Amanda turn her head to look. The rich ladies also took a few steps back in fear. Somehow, Justin was standing behind them. He heard everything the other ladies had to say and saw Amanda's anger but helplessness. It's interesting! He also thought that this girl could only endure silently. Turns out he knew how to resist like this.
"Looks like these ladies are unfit to be the daughters-in-law of the Stephen family."
Justin looked at the rich ladies, his face showing regret. But looking closely, Justin's cold eyes seemed to radiate a murderous aura that could kill someone. The ladies who had laughed at Amanda a while ago were now afraid to step back. Why didn't they know that Amanda and Justin were so close? The two of them had only met once on prom night.
[Thank you. Once again you helped me out of the siege.]
Amanda wrote each word on Justin's palm. He laughed loudly, using sign language to talk to her so that she does not have to be so polite. Amanda stared blankly at the handsome man standing in front of her, she didn't think Justin would learn sign language just to talk to her. This made Amanda feel warm. Turns out, in addition to the people who were close to her, there was also a sign language learner to talk to Amanda.
[Why did you learn sign language?]
"Anyway, we will live in the same house. I learned sign language just to facilitate communication with you."
[Living in the same house?]
Amanda didn't quite understand what Justin meant. He said she and he would live in the same house. So what does that mean?
"Didn't you read my invitation? I invited you to the party today, as Justin Stephen's fiancée."
After hearing this, Amanda's body stiffened, unable to move. When her mother gave her the invitation, Amanda didn't open it either. The invitation is still sealed with the family seal of Stephen. At this point, Amanda stiffly took the invitation she had brought, and slowly opened it to read. Seeing her movements, Justin just stood beside her, trying not to laugh. Amanda opened the seal, and she only now noticed that her invitation seal was different from the others. What's the matter with this? She still couldn't take in what Justin said. Even when she read the invitation carefully, she could not accept the fact that she was Justin Stephen's fiancée.
"You see? I made it very clear in the letter that I invited you to come as my fiancee. I don't think you wouldn't even read this letter."
Justin narrowed his eyes and stroked Amanda's cheek. But she felt that there was something wrong with this man's eyes. The way he looked at her, there was no emotion at all.
