CHAPTER 6 Mistaken Identity

Back to the present time, Tyler stood up and faced his grandfather,

“It’s been a long day, and I believe you already heard what you wanted right? So Hawkins will show you out, I need to rest for tomorrow,” he coldly said and walked towards his room.

Before he could even get inside, his grandfather spoke as he put on his coat,

“Atta boy! Pretty sure you’ll get over her someday, no matter how long it takes. But I must say, I still need an heir from you. Remember, you won’t be getting a single penny if I hadn’t seen you get married and have a child of your own before I die.”

But he ignored him and went inside his room. But what his grandfather said reminded him of what happened next, something that he deliberately concealed from his grandfather.

“You might not need to worry about it anymore, grandpa! I am a married man after all,” he whispered to himself as he laid down his tired body in bed and reminisced about his wedding night.

Chloe, who was trying to escape her friends’ crazy bet, spent time alone at a bar by the jacuzzi pool.

She couldn’t care about the prize because all she wanted was to celebrate her employment.

After the bartender gave her first Mimosa, she sat in the middle of the jacuzzi and soaked her body to sober up.

“Oh, this feels nice. I think it would be great to distress this way. Vegas is really something else,” mumbling to herself.

“I will bring you here someday, mom,” she looked up, rested her arms and shoulders at the gutter, and drank her Mimosa.

“This is perfect,” she happily exclaimed while getting drunk.

“Where are you from, Miss?” the bartender asked her, “Your accent is intriguing,” he said while mixing another round of Mimosa for her.

“Hmm, well, my mom’s Irish. I stayed there until high school and tried my luck here in the States,” she explained tipsily.

“Well, that explains the hair and your accent. I must say, you are gorgeous, Miss,” he said, trying to make a move on her, then gave her the glass with a little brushing of her fingers.

Because of drunkenness plus innocence, she didn’t notice what the bartender was actually doing. Their little conversation kept on going until all of a sudden, she heard something.

“Hey, did you hear that?” she asked, trying to find the source of the sound.

“Hear what?” the bartender was confused.

“That sound! The sobbing sound! Someone’s crying. I can hear it,” her awareness went back a little.

Getting interrupted with his flirting, he answered disinterestedly, “No, not hear a thing.”

But her attention now was more focused on finding the source, rather than listening to his boring stories. So she roamed at the pool.

With only a few people enjoying it at that time, he saw someone crouching at the corner of the jacuzzi pool, by himself, drunk and wasted.

As she got closer to him, she could hear his sobbing and mumble louder and louder.

She even placed her head on his back to make sure it was him. When he was sure of it, she tapped his shoulder incessantly.

As he turned to her, she said with worry in her eyes, “Hey, Mister! Who made you cry?”

Intoxicated by alcohol, he lifted his head not recognizing the face in front of him, “Y–you came back? Isabella?”

“No–no! My name’s Chloe,” she said.

“Then get the hell out of here,” he rudely pushed her away. But she didn’t budge.

Curiosity and pity struck her, “So, Isabella made you cry, huh?”

He glared at her, “What do you know about Isabella?”

“Nothing, I don’t even know you. So–” she said while shrugging her shoulders.

“What do you exactly need?” he scowled at her.

“Looks like you need company, well never mind if you don–” she got irritated with his rudeness and was about to take her to leave, but that’s when he held her hand and said,

“Promise you’re not a paparazzi?”

She nodded.

“Then stay, and help me curse that evil witch Isabella Winter,” he cussed.

Her name sounded familiar but she just didn’t know where she had heard it from. And her brain isn't functional enough to think either.

The bartender who was flirting with her seemed to be disappointed at the turn of events, yet, knowing who he was, he didn’t mean to interfere any longer. He even brought them drinks and snacks to share.

A drunken conversation just got started.

The answer to every question didn’t actually match. Because they were both drunk, nothing comprehensive came out of their mouth, yet their small talk led to a companionship they needed right at this moment.

In the end, Chloe got Tyler’s attention and he began to tell his tale. While Tyler got Chloe’s sympathy to the point that she even cried,

“That bitch! She didn’t accept your love! Poor you, Ty!” she even cursed and yelled because of frustration.

“She doesn’t deserve your pure love! She doesn’t deserve you at all, Ty! You must find someone who would love and accept you for being you!” she even started speaking up her own piece.

Fascinated by how deeply she was absorbed into his rejection, and having someone who could feel your pain, their little drunk conversation turned into marriage booze.

“So, what do you say Chloe, will you be that someone?” while looking into her eyes and holding both her arms on the side.

Chloe felt the intensity and desperation in his eyes, and she thought no one has ever wanted her like this before. At some point, she felt wanted and needed.

“H–huh? What do you mean?” she even uttered with her lips trembling.

This time, Ty noticed how gorgeous she was up close, so he ended up making two proposals in one night,

“Marry me, Chloe, and be that someone you are talking about. What do you say?”

He slowly came at her, cornered her in the pool, and locked her body in between his arms, then he leaned his face in front of her, with their lips an inch apart,

“That damn expensive ring is in my VIP suite. I could get it, or we could both go there and get married. So what’s your answer?”

Intimidated by his charm and drowned in his madness, she couldn’t say no to this man in front of him, so instead, she clung her arms to his neck, and opened her lips apart inviting him to devour her,

“Take me there and put the ring on me.”
