**Requiem POV: **

As we drove up to my building, I got aggravated. I would rather be home doing Alpha work. I need to train for the fight. My driver opens the floor and I make my way to the boardroom. Sometimes I hate doing business with humans. They never see the bigger picture; they only see dollars. As soon as I got off the elevator, the hallway smelled like dark chocolate and orange. Echo is going nuts in my head. He is telling me to follow the scent. Rolling my eyes, I follow the scent and it leads me to the board room. In front of the boardroom stands Lished. He is the head of my finance department and is waiting for me. Out of all the humans that work for me, I like him the most.

We walked into the boardroom and the board members were waiting for me as well. I was shocked that the boardroom looked clean and that the scent I smelled earlier is all over the place. Pushing the smell to the side, I started the meeting. Lished went first. He showed that the company would save money and decrease its carbon footprint by using recycled items. Items such as recycled cork panels and flooring, recycled glass tile, recycled steel, and recycled plastic building blocks.

Using recycled products will pay the company over one and a half billion dollars on the construction contract, which pleases the board. However, getting such products will take time, and the longer it takes to build this apartment complex the less money the company makes. That’s when all hell broke loose. The board wants to make money faster than saving money. I guess these humans have to keep their wives and side chicks financially happy. I wish I could just use my Alpha tone on them to get my way.

“Look, gentlemen, the bigger picture is not just profit, it is to lower our carbon footprint as we continue to build buildings”, I said as I stood up.

“What is exactly the profit once the project is complete and all the units are sold”, said John, the treasurer of the board.

“The project will be three hundred waterfront townhouses all on the waterfront. One hundred and two bedrooms, one hundred three bedrooms, one hundred four bedrooms. The two bedrooms will be sold at $250,000 each; the three-bedroom houses will be sold at 350,000 each; the four-bedroom homes will be sold at 500,000 each”, Lished.

“And for those of you that don’t know how to count, the total is $110,000,000. The cost of construction is 25 million dollars. The profit of $85,000,000”, I said as some of the men whistled.

“And how long would it take for us to see the profit”, Luke says.

“Over the course of five years, so $17,000,000 every year”, Lished said.

“How long would construction take”, Dan asked.

“It has been decided that we will build the four-bedroom house first and all one hundred units should be done by December if we start construction next month. I estimate six months for each section”, Lished said.

“I don’t like the fact that it will take six months for every section, so we are looking at full completion in a year and a half. And there is no guarantee they will sell right away”, Luke says. Everyone is pissing me off and Echo is not making it any better. He wants to find the source of the scent he smells.

“I can’t agree with this, there is no guarantee that we will see a profit in five years”, John said.

“Whether we agree or not, I am still going on with the project. I won’t use a dime of the company money I will use my own. And I can assure you all of you will regret us not agreeing on this. Right now, the waiting list for all units is full. Which person on the waiting list put down a non-refundable deposit of 10% of the unit's purchase price to be on the waiting list”, I said with a smirk.

“What does the waiting list look like?”, Sam asked.

“One hundred people on the list. Thirty-three for the three bedrooms, thirty-four for the two bead rooms and thirty-three for the four bedrooms”, I said.

“And how much is was deposit all ready?”, Lucke asked.

“110 million dollars”, Lished said, and I smiled looking at the shocked faces of the board.

Everyone started talking at once. I just sat there and watched them take another look at the printed presentation. I looked at Sam, then Lished smirked at me, knowing damn well that I would get my way one way or the other. I lean against the wall and just watch them like prey. John cleared his throat.

“Are you really willing to take your own money to fund this construction plan”, John asked.

“I sure am willing to use my personal funds to make this project happen”, I say as I make a cup of coffee. I don’t know who did this set up. They put out raw sugar, my favorite.

“Bullshit you don’t have that type of capital”, Luke says.

“That’s where you are wrong, Luke our CEO here comes from old money, like older than each and every one of yours”, Lished said. Lished is a part of my pack. Yes, he is human, but his mate is my Beta.

“Gentleman, I would rather use company resources so that this project can build up the company portfolio”, I said.

When the men finally made their minds up, they all agreed on the project. Goddess, I hate having to deal with the board. I have half a mind to get rid of them all and put my pack members on the board. I watched as they each signed the contracts and one by one left. Taking a seat in my chair, I ate the leftover pastries, and I must say they were great. I wonder who brought these in.

“Good, aren’t they?”, Lished asked.

“Yes, they are who brought these in?”, I asked.

“My executive assistant set the whole room up”, he said.

“Really what is her name”, I said curiously, she might be the one whose scent got my wolf going crazy.

“I am not telling you; you won’t steal my assistant. She is the best one I ever had”, he says with a smile.

I leave the office smiling ear to ear. If Lished doesn’t tell me information about his assistant, I will find out from human resources. I called the head of Human Resources and asked her for Lished assistant, and I wanted it in fifteen minutes. In fourteen minutes, her file was delivered to me. The file had basic information. Her name and address were missing. I require all employees’ files to have their pictures in them. Their picture should have been added to her file when she took her picture for her ID.
