Enthralled
It was Saturday morning, Sophia got off the bed and after completing her morning necessities with having cold shower, she made herself breakfast. Today she had a lay off from center as it was her parent's death anniversary. It's already been two years since she lost them.
She wore a black knee length full sleeved gown and let her chestnut curly locks down with a tint of lip balm. Taking one last glance at mirror she thought she looked perfect to present herself to her parents.
She took bus to the Forest Lawn Cemetery. It was early in the morning so there were not many people, she easily able to find a seat. She sat by the window watching trees passing by thinking about nothing in particular. Her mind was blank, no expression, and no thoughts running through.
Half an hour later she reached the Cemetery. Getting off she went straight to her parent’s grave, stood there for a minute or two.
"I am good Maa Paa. Look at me, I am completely fine." She whispered snuffling a little.
"I am doing great; it's just that if you both would have been here, life would have been different. I would have been happier potentially, a lot better. I miss you so much; all I do is think about the precious time we spent together." She paused as if thinking about something and said again "Though short, but beautiful."
"It's not like I don't have anyone for my own part. Lisa and uncle take very good care of me. They even offered to pay the loan on my behalf and let me continue my studies. But Maa Paa if I take their offer for now, they won't take the money back. They have already done a lot for me."
Suddenly she burst into tears "Why you have to leave so soon?"
She came out of the Cemetery after couple of hours. Sniffing she started walking over orange yellow fallen leaves, covering walking way. She sauntered absent minded towards the bus stand with slow and lazy steps. It was mid October, winter has just started to arrive. Cold breeze fluttered her curly locks. She got on the bus to go to Lisa's mansion unaware of fact how she had already 'enthralled' the devil himself.
With grouchy mode, Noah got in his black Rolls-Royce which immediately cracked up. Stefan had arranged his meeting with Mr. James at Bacchus Whine Bar & Restaurant. But things didn't go as he desired.
Only after a few minutes he spotted a beautiful mesmerizing girl walking on opposite lanes walk way. With petite and vivacious figure, she was dressed completely in black, from black knee length full sleeved gown to black sandals. Her dressing was genteel. Her nose and cheeks were colored in shades of red with her big hazel colored innocent eyes moistened as if she cried few moments back. Her curly chestnut hairs were down, fluttering free with the cold breeze. She took her own time walking lazily. He asked his driver to stop and by the time he can approach her after getting off, she sat in the bus and went off.
He growled loudly and came back to where the car was. Getting in he slammed the door loudly.
"Drive."
"Sir to where?" twitching badly, his driver enquired.
"Of course, to the office. Where else do you think you can take me?"
And with that his driver fired up the engine.
As soon as they entered the building Noah ran off to his cabin. Immediately he called Stefan in, who holding his breath entered the cabin. Noah was calm, but Stefan knew clearly there's always calmness before storm.
"I want every single detail about her by tomorrow's morning on my desk." Noah ordered.
"Sir, who’s?"
"The girl we saw at the bus stop near restaurant." Noah roared.
"Sir I didn't saw her clearly. Moreover, I don't know her name."
"Get out." Noah shouted at Stefan at the top of his lungs. "I – said – out - now." He pronounced every word separately.
With that Stefan came out thinking what a mad-man he is acting like. Why is he so desperate over some random girl?
Noah let his back rest in back post and closing his eyes rubbed his forehead. He knew it was impossible for anyone to find out anything about anyone just by having a mere look over one's face. It's just that Stefan was a pawn of his anger as he didn't have anything to vent his anger on. Poor Stefan he thought.
But universe was aware it was not Stefan to be sympathized on, but Sophia, the innocent lamb.
