CHAPTER 3

Mira had been feeling tired of the distance that Gorden had been giving her for a while now. She had been trying to talk to him about it, but he always seemed too busy or too tired to give her the attention she needed. On top of that, she was angered by the fact that Kaylie forgave Gorden for having a child with her. It didn't seem fair that they could just move on like nothing happened, while Mira was left feeling neglected and forgotten. All she wanted was for them to break up.

Mira decided to confront Kaylie about it. She knew it wasn't fair to take out her frustrations on Kaylie, but she couldn't help feeling angry about the situation. She found Kaylie in the training field, looking at young stars in the park training. Mira walked up to her, and they exchanged a quick nod.

"Hey, Kaylie," Mira said, trying to sound calm and collected.

Kaylie turned to face her. "Hey, Mira. What's up?"

Mira took a deep breath. "I wanted to talk to you about something."

"Okay," Kaylie said, looking a bit confused.

Mira hesitated for a moment before continuing. "I just wanted to say that I don't think it's fair that you forgave Gorden for what he did."

Kaylie's expression hardened. "What do you mean, Mira?"

"You know what I mean. He had a child with me and now you're just acting as if nothing happened. It's not fair to you."

Kaylie's face softened a bit. "Mira, I know it's hard to understand, but I've moved on from that. I forgave Gorden a long time ago. It wasn't easy, but it was the best thing for me."

Mira felt her anger rising. "But how can you just forgive him like that? He hurt you!"

"I know he did," Kaylie said, her voice firm. "But holding onto that hurt isn't going to help me. It's only going to hold me back."

Mira shook her head. "I just don't get it. How can you be so forgiving?"

Kaylie looked at her for a moment before speaking. "Mira, forgiveness isn't about letting someone off the hook for what they did. It's about freeing yourself from the pain and hurt that they caused. It's not easy, but it's worth it."

Mira felt a lump form in her throat. She didn't want to admit it, but Kaylie had a point. She always has a loophole for everything. Why can't she just be angry and leave?

But before she could say anything, Kaylie spoke again. "Look, Mira. I don't know why you're hurting right now. Technically, I am the one who is supposed to be mad but I can't take that out on you. I'm not the one causing your anything that happened. You both were naive."

Mira felt her face grow hot. She knew Kaylie was right. She was taking out her frustrations on the wrong person.

"I'm sorry," she said quietly. "You're right. It's not fair for me to blame you for my problems. I just don't know what to do anymore." Mira tried to hide the anger.

Kaylie put a hand on her shoulder. "It's okay, Mira"

Mira nodded, feeling a bit foolish for her outburst. She turned to walk away, feeling embarrassed and stupid.

As she walked away, she felt tears stinging at the corners of her eyes. She had wanted so badly to confront Kaylie and make her feel the same anger. She wants to make them feel what she feels.

Mira was upset. All this plan she filed out was not something that would work for them. Mira decided to use her powers.

'It is time to go outside the box," she thought while pacing around her room. She closed the door to her room and set up her candles then she sat down showing anger as an emotion.

“With this love spell

Hear my need

For a lover to cherish

And value me”

Mira repeated the spell as her eyes turned plain white. She could feel it moving but also she felt it zapping a lot of energy from herself. No one in the pack could sense the power of dark magic. Soon things began to fall in the room. At this time she knew anyone could troop in. The white light she saw turned black slowly until she fell flat on the floor.

Kayline sprinted into the room and saw Mira laying down on the floor. She was surprised to see the candle but she had to help either way. She called the park doctor to check on her after she had put her safely on the bed.

Mira lay in her bed, staring at the ceiling, her mind racing with thoughts of the dark magic she had used to cast a spell on Gordon. She couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction that she had finally won the battle of love.

Suddenly, she heard a knock on the door, and then it opened to reveal Kayline, looking worried.

"Mira, are you okay? What happened earlier?" Kayline said, sitting down next to her on the bed.

Mira forced a smile. "I'm fine, just a little tired. The pack doctor did a great job."

Kayline still looked concerned. "But what happened? Why did you collapse? And what was with the candles?

Mira hesitated for a moment before deciding to lie. "I was having normal routine prayers but I guess I stayed too long on my knees"

Kayline's eyes widened in shock. "Well, that's not normal but I am happy you are alright."

Gordon had always been distant from Mira but she was surprised to see him rush into her room with a sense of urgency and worry.

Kaylie stood at the entrance of the room, watching as Gordon spoke softly to Mira, his eyes filled with concern. Mira looked up at him, weakly smiling as he took her hand in his. "I'm here, Mira. I'm not going anywhere," he said, his voice gentle and soothing.

Kaylie couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy as she watched the two of them. Seeing him express such strong emotions for someone else made her realise that her feelings for him would never be reciprocated. She was confused. Gordon was acting in love with Mira.

As Gordon continued to talk to Mira, Kaylie slowly backed away from the room, not wanting to intrude on their moment. She felt a sense of loneliness wash over her, wishing she could find someone who loved her as deeply as Gordon loved Mira.

Later that day, Kaylie bumped into Gordon in the park. He looked exhausted, his eyes red from crying. "Hey," she said softly, not wanting to disturb him.

'Was he crying for Mira?' Kaylie thought.

Gordon looked up, surprised to see her. "Oh, hi Kaylie," he said, his voice hoarse. "Sorry, I'm not really in the mood to talk right now," he said and passed.

Kaylie felt a lump form in her throat, feeling the pain of his words. "Are you serious about this," she said, placing her hand on her waist. "I am your wife. I know you are meant to care for people, but you don't care for her so much. Why now?"

Gordon shook his head, his eyes distant. "I don't know. I just feel so helpless, you know?"

Kaylie kept thinking about what she did wrong. What happened to him? What changed in just a day? She was confused, if she decides to talk to him anyhow it could turn into chaos. Now all she has to do is wait.

The next day, Gordon stayed in Mira's room looking after her, making sure she got anything she wanted. Mira was loving this. She felt the victory in anything she tasted.

'Love can't defeat magic' she said to herself.

Kaylie bumped into the room showing that she was fed up with the suspense.

"Gordon, what is all this? You haven't slept in the room since yesterday. I am your soulmate. How do you think I am coping without you," Kaylie said, breathing heavily. She was all pumped up. "I don't know what you did to him but I will find out and when I do you will have yourself to blame," Kaylie threatened.

"Did you just threaten her? I know I am your mate but that doesn't mean anything," Gordon said storming out of the room. Kaylie was angry, but she couldn't do anything.

"You can't do anything, I have him under my hands. He is mine," Mira said, showing that she has recovered fully.

"What did I do to you? I took you in, you and your baby. I didn't get mad for what you did, I made sure I did all I could to help, so what is this about?" Kaylie asked.

"My baby is the first son. The owner of the power your child wants to inherit," Mira explained and said no more.

Kayline left the room in tears. She didn't have to start suffering like this. Why did she allow her in the first place?

"This issue is too massive for me to spill to Linda, '' she thought. This is not right. I own the Alpha, not her.
