Is this destiny? I meet Ray again!
No matter how loud I screamed, this handsome man wouldn't let me go.
I'm sure he was aware of my panic at that moment, yet he still didn't release me. He held me firmly in his arms.
"You!"
I turned my head and accidentally caught a glimpse of his handsome face, which was wearing a serious expression.
I don't know why, but suddenly my heart started pounding, fear and confusion enveloping my thoughts. I don't understand what he's doing.
But as time went on, my fragile body began to calm down in his embrace. His gentle gaze and attentiveness made me feel safe and protected. It was as if all my worries and fears had vanished and transformed into warmth.
"Let me go, please," I pleaded weakly, but he still held onto me.
"No, I won't let go. Am I a man if I let a wounded woman go without helping her?" he said calmly and attentively.
I stared at him and fell silent. Although I was initially shocked and protested, I eventually allowed him to hold me and tried to calm myself.
"He may look strong, but does he really know what he's doing?" I wondered, trying to find a sense of calm. Nevertheless, the pain in my legs made me groan as he walked towards an unknown destination.
After a while, the man finally stopped at a white bench and gently placed me down with care. I tried to look at his face, searching for the reason behind his sudden actions.
"What are you doing?" I asked, my voice calmer this time.
He looked at me with gentle eyes and smiled. "I was worried about you. Your leg is injured and bruised, so I decided to help you. I didn't want you to keep walking with unnecessary pain," he said as he knelt down and examined my leg.
I was once again taken aback by his attentiveness. "W-what are you doing?" I asked nervously.
"Thank you for your concern, but I can handle it myself. I don't want to trouble you," I said softly.
The man shook his head and sighed. His handsome face turned towards me. "Look! Your leg is bruised. Tell me, how would you take care of it?"
He was right, I couldn't do anything with my bruised leg. His words from earlier made me fall silent once again.
Although I was worried at first, his kindness and attentiveness started to make me feel comfortable.
"Thank you," I said softly, touched by his care and kindness.
The man smiled again. "It's nothing major. There's no trouble at all," he replied while examining my leg.
"Your bone is slightly misaligned, but don't worry, I can fix it. It might hurt a little, so brace yourself," he added.
I looked at him with a hesitant gaze. I wasn't sure if I should fully trust him, but there was sincerity in his eyes that made me want to believe him.
Crack!
I heard the sound of bones realigning. It was excruciating, and I instinctively screamed.
"Aaaa!"
"It's done, your bone is back in place," he said calmly.
"Really?" I asked, still somewhat doubtful.
The man smiled upon hearing my question that seemed to doubt him.
"Yes... try moving your leg," he said, sitting next to me.
I looked at him in confusion, but I decided to follow his instructions. Slowly, I tried to move my leg that had been painful before.
"Eh?" I was amazed. My leg felt more comfortable as I started moving it. It still felt a bit stiff and tense, but there was no more pain like before. I was surprised and relieved.
"Eh? It doesn't hurt anymore," I exclaimed, surprised but full of relief.
The man still smiled, nodding his head. "There's nothing to worry about. I'm quite skilled at fixing dislocated or misaligned bones. Everything will be fine now," he answered gently.
I felt a hint of joking in his words, but I didn't mind. It was nice to have someone comforting me when my heart felt suffocated.
"You're amazing!" I praised with a wide smile.
I felt incredibly grateful and relieved that I had found someone who could help in this situation. I asked him, "What's your name? How did you learn to do this?" I was curious.
He replied, "My name is Ray. I've studied the art of healing and body care. It's not too difficult for me to heal your leg."
I was impressed by his abilities. "Thank you so much, Ray. I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't met you. I'm lucky."
He nodded, still smiling. "There's nothing to worry about. I'm here to help. Just make sure to give your body some rest to fully recover."
I nodded happily. "Mhm! Thank you so much again!"
I thanked him once more and decided to follow Ray's advice and instructions.
"I've told you my name and even helped you, but you haven't even told me your name?" Ray asked.
"Oh! I'm sorry! Oh my gosh! How could I forget? My name is Naina! Naina Gersy!" I answered with a hint of confusion.
"Hmm... That's a nice name!" he said with a handsome face and a caring voice.
I couldn't contain the nervousness in my heart. Nevertheless, I tried to find another topic of conversation.
"Oh, by the way, what are you doing here?" I asked curiously. I had no idea that Ray had connections to Redrick.
"Oh, that... I was invited by the Vans family!" Ray replied, showing me his invitation card.
"Oh... I see!"
"And... what are you doing here?" Ray asked back.
I was immediately taken aback by his question. The bad memories that had temporarily faded away now resurfaced in my mind. My eyes filled with tears, and I couldn't bear it when I remembered that painful memory. My beautiful memories with Redrick also came back, intensifying my pain.
It felt as if my heart was being repeatedly stabbed by a sharp knife.
"Naina...!" Ray called out when he saw me crying. Vaguely, I heard Ray's voice trembling with concern.
Tears filled my eyes, and I closed them with my hands. I couldn't see Ray's expression at that moment. But I could tell from his voice that he was worried about me.
But why was he concerned about me? We had only met twice. I thought to myself, puzzled.
Maybe it was just my imagination, as I was so eager to be noticed that it made me hallucinate, I thought again.
However, I couldn't have anticipated that as I cried, Ray hugged me.
