Marry Me!

"Naina, don't cry again," he said as he hugged me, his voice trembling. He continued to gently pat my back to calm me down.

I was surprised when Ray did that. But I couldn't resist his embrace either. It felt warm and comforting.

In his arms, I lamented the pain in my heart. "Why did you betray me like this, huh! Redrick... it's so painful!" I sobbed. I felt so overwhelmed. The good and bad memories I had with Redrick mixed together and kept resurfacing. Those memories felt so painful.

I never expected that, in the most sorrowful moment of my life, it wasn't Redrick who comforted me, nor my parents, nor my friends, but this stranger.

But why is his embrace so warm? I really don't understand.

His embrace was so warm that it made me forget for a moment that the man I was hugging was a stranger I had just met two days ago.

Hey Naina! Are you going crazy? I scolded myself inwardly.

But I truly felt comfortable in his embrace.

"I-I'm sorry," I said, feeling slightly uncomfortable.

Slowly, I loosened my grip and wiped away the remaining tears on my cheeks. Ray released his embrace, but his eyes were still fixed on me with concern.

"Why are you crying?" he asked softly.

I smiled at him, trying to suppress the turmoil within me. "I... I'm just going through a difficult time, Ray. But I feel better now, thank you for helping me once again."

He looked at me with sad eyes. I didn't understand why he had that expression.

"Naina," he called me in a gentle voice, "Redrick? Is he the one, the one who hurt you?" Ray asked while looking at me.

My heart skipped a beat. I wiped away the tears on my face again and shook my head, "No, it's nothing, it's just the past," I replied, trying to smile. I tried to remain strong in front of him.

As I lifted my head and looked at Ray, I saw his face change to anger. I could clearly see his anger. "Ray...," I called out softly. I didn't understand why he was angry.

As I called out to Ray, his angry expression immediately changed. "Yes, Naina. What's wrong?" he asked as if nothing had happened, as if his emotions hadn't been stirred.

"Nothing, Ray. I just saw you looked angry earlier," I said.

"Huh? Angry? Why should I be angry? Oh, right! Of course, I'm angry! Why should you shed tears for a man who hurt and betrayed you like that? He doesn't deserve to be the cause of your precious tears, Naina," Ray replied while gently wiping my cheek.

"You need to start a new life, forget about him, just leave him!" Ray added.

Ray was trying to convince me to start a new life without being constantly tied to Redrick. He saw how difficult it was for me to forget Redrick, but he wanted to provide support and encouragement to me.

"It's hard, Ray, hmph! To leave him behind! If only I could do it!"

"Naina! Even though it's difficult, I believe you can do it. He's already married to someone else, Naina, could you possibly be the third person in their marriage? I know you're not like that!"

I stood up spontaneously, "No! I'm not that kind of woman, Ray!" I immediately replied.

At that moment, Ray looked at me with a gentle gaze. I whispered to myself again, what does this gaze mean? What does he see in me?

Why, Ray, why are you looking at me like this? This gaze feels familiar to me.

At that moment, Ray suddenly knelt in front of me and said something I never expected at all.

"Beautiful girl, what if you marry me?" he asked while holding my hand.

"Huh?"

I was so shocked to hear the surprising words from Ray. I furrowed my brow with doubt, trying to understand what I had just heard. I had only met this man twice, and now he was offering me marriage. It felt too fast and too sudden.

"You?" I murmured with a bewildered expression. I was still trying to process what had just happened.

Ray continued to hold my hand gently, his eyes full of certainty.

"Do you understand what you just said, Ray? Are you proposing to me?"

"Ray! Please don't joke around!" I said with a hint of anger. To me, marriage was not a joke.

Especially since I was heartbroken because of Redrick, and Ray was playing with me like this.

I felt incredibly angry. Strangely, I saw honesty in Ray's eyes that I couldn't understand. And it instantly made my anger disappear.

Why do I feel like he's not joking! Aish! What am I thinking! It's impossible! But his eyes...

I struggled in my own mind. Somehow, I felt from Ray's gaze that his words were genuine. But my logic couldn't accept it, it doesn't make sense for Ray, whom I had just met twice, to have feelings for me.

As he looked at me, with that sincere gaze, Ray answered his earlier question. "Do you think I'm that kind of man, Naina? I'm not joking," he said.

"I don't understand, Ray, why are you proposing to me when being involved with me could be dangerous for you? Redrick is not an ordinary person, he might hurt you," I sincerely advised him.

Redrick could do anything. He might even harm Ray. I didn't want Ray to get hurt because of me.

At that moment, Ray laughed softly, "You can relax, Naina, no one in this world can hurt me," he replied casually.

"What do you mean, Ray?"

"Naina, let me introduce myself again, you might have heard this name before, I am Ray Anderson!"

"Hah!" That name, I definitely knew it.

Ray's face was full of charisma at that moment, "I wonder how Redrick would touch me?" he said confidently.

"What! You! Ray Anderson!" My eyes widened instantly. I never expected that I had been talking to Ray Anderson all this time.

He was a legend in everyone's eyes. A successful young man who became the head of the largest company in Asia. Even other large companies would bow down to him. And compared to him, Redrick and I were nothing more than ants. He was like an ocean, and we were just dust in that ocean.
