the interrogation

“why?” Dev asked as he and Aleyna got back on their feet, they looked at her with a frown.

“Are you serious Ali?” Nayera asked as she held ALeyna’s hand and pulled her to her side. Dev fisted his hands as he looked at Nayera, he did not like she pulled Aleyna away from him.

Aleyna shook her head at him, if he showed an ounce of his anger in front of Nayera she will never let her marry Dev.

“I am,” Aleyna said as she faced Nayera.

“First he cheated on you and now like an idiot you are believing every word he said and saying yes to marrying him when he already has two wives?” Nayera asked not believing how much of a fool her friend was becoming in the name of love.

“Era—“ Aleyna tried to explain what the concept was but she was not even ready to listen.

“Don’t Era me, right now,” Nayera warned her.

“what do you think a person who is giving divorce to his wife, no wives actually—“ she threw a disgusted look at Dev as he stared back at her with a hard look on his face. He was irritated.

“He will stay with you forever? What is the probability that he will even stick to you for a whole damn year?” Nayera accused him as she held Aleyna by her shoulders.

“Era you are misunderstanding him,” Aleyna tried to make her understand her point of view, the man in front of her loved her to death.

“You are misunderstanding him!” Nayera argued as she threw her hands in the air dramatically.

“You are not understanding at all,” Aleyna commented.

“Yes I am not,” Nayera said, she did not want her friend to marry a guy who is already married twice.

“People do not stay loyal Aleyna, I learned it way too soon for my innocence to be crumbled by people I used to call my own—“ Kush’s eyes were staring at hers for a second as she said all that in her moment of weakness.

“Nayera,” Nihalika stopped her before she could reveal much of her past. This was neither the right place nor the right time.

“I don’t understand how the fuck you fell in love with a guy who already has two wives?” Nayera asked shifting the topic back to Aleyna.

“Before you put another allegation on him, we should head to a room and discuss this out,” Kush intervented as Nayera glared at him, how dare he stop her in between a nice argument.

“He is right,” Nihalika agreed.

“But—“ Nayera wanted to argue but the wondering eyes of people in the group did not seem comfortable now when they are acknowledged.

“Era, trust me,” Aleyna said as Nayera nodded.

“Fine,” She said. All of them walked towards the room where Nayera did Kush’s bandage previously.

“Explain,” Nayera demanded.

“Why is he here first?” Dev asked pointing at Kush.

“Because I punished him by mistake for his doing,” Nayera said as her eyes rested on Kush.

“Good god you are still alive,” Dev said astonished by the revelation.

“Don’t you see the bandage? If this confusion had been going on for a few more days, you could visit my grave,” Kush said pointing at the bandage of his head.

“You people don’t do grave, but turn into ashes,” Nayera corrected his statement.

“I said the words in flow, geez forgive me already,” Kush said wiping fake sweat off his head.

“We need to meet your wives, call them here right now,” Nayera demanded.

“I can’t,” Dev said. his face turning a little red by the interrogation.

“why?” Nihalika demanded this time if he was clean with his intention why do he need to hide away his wives?

“I just can't— they… are not… moveable,” Dev tried to explain.

“What?” This time Kush as well was surprised.

“He is right Era,” Aleyna said as she stood by Dev’s side.

“This is getting way more confusing than my math examination,” Nihalika said, she hated math.

“And you said he loves you,” Nayera said.

“I do!” Dev exclaimed.

“Doesn’t seem like it,” NIhalika commented

“Bro, call the wives here otherwise this girl won’t let you marry her,” Kush said, even though he was curious this time.

“Correct,” Aleyna said nodding her head.

“How am I supposed to call my office building here?” Dev said.

“WHAT?” all of them said at the same time aside from ALeyna, she knew all this.

“Yes,” Alyena said holding his arm this time.

“He is married to his work, I am jealous, ok,” ALeyna said as Dev kissed her cheek.

“You call his work his first wife?” Nayera asked Aleyna.

“yep,” Aleyna said.

“weird as fuck,” NAyera said under her breath but Aleyna heard it.

“Love you too,” Aleyna said sarcastically.

“oh umm-hmm okay,” Nayera said.

“second wife?” NAyera asked again.

“She is standing outside the doors of the mansion,” Dev said.

“Came to pick you up?” Nihalika asked.

“No, she is the one I drive into,” Dev said.

“His car Era,” Aleyna explained.

“His second wife is his car?” Kush asked this time.

“He is glued to it 24*7,” Aleyna said.

“Do you have a living human female as your wife?” Nayera asked. all of this was too confusing.

“No,” Dev said.

“Well then coming to the next point, you deserve a kick for making her cry,” Nayera said as she took a breath of relief.

“You already ruined my suit,” Dev argued.

“Should have done more,” Nayera replied.

“Who was the girl you were proposing to that day?” Nihalika asked. she wanted to be a part of the introgation as well now as it is happening.

“For a hundred times, that was a random stranger in that shop, I was practicing,” Dev said as he looked at Nayera frustrated by her questions.

“So you go on practicing propose-propose to strangers?” Nayera asked.

“Era, leave it na,” Nihalika said.

“How can I? She is my friend,” Nayera said.

“Alright, I can get you the CCTV footage of that store where I convinced the girl for 2 minutes before I said those words,” Kush said as it was an easy task for him.

“Can be promising evidence right?” Dev said.

“yeah whatever,” Nayera said.

“Give the details to me, I will handle the rest,” Kush said as Dev nodded.

Dev gave the details of the shop he was in and the estimated time, Kush gave the details to his security chief and asked him to get the footage as soon as possible.

“Coffee anyone?” Ksuh asked.

“You want coffee in this kind of situation?” Nayera said giving him the look of you-are impossible

“You want stress wrinkles on your face? Nope right, stop thinking then,” Kush said to make her divert her mind a little bit; he could see the tension she was taking for the well-being of her friend.

“Order a mango milkshake with vanilla ice cream and cherry on the top for me,” Nayera ordered.

“vanilla huh?” Kush said.

“so cheap,” Nayera whispered under her breath.

“you said something?” Kush asked, he seemed to hear that.

“nope,” Nayera replied, others were silently watching this interaction between them.

“Black coffee for both of us,” Aleyna said to herself and Dev.

“match made in heaven,” Kush commented.

“just water,” nihalika said as she got busy in her phone.

An antendee got orders for them as Nayera quickly picked her glass up with a big smile on her face. Nihalika and Aleyna shook their head at her childishness as they picked their coffees.

Nayera was fisting on her ice cream in such bliss that all eyes were on her eyes, “what?” she asked after gulping the rest of the milkshake.

“Umm… nothing,” Kush replied as he passed her a tissue which she gladly took, she was a messy eater.

Kush’s phone pinged as he looked at it, he got the video clip. He played it for everyone to see Dev was in real convincing the girl a few moments ago before he went on proposing to her.

And then the girl hugged him all of a sudden.

“She will be saying yes, trust me,” The girl said to Dev before she walked off somewhere and Dev walked out of the store not having any idea Aleyna was there just a few moments ago.

“Now does that finishes your concerns?” Dev asked Nayera said as she nodded, as long as he do not hurt her she does not need to go all tiger on him.

“Don’t make her cry anymore,” Nayera said.

“Thanks, dude, if it was not for you she’d made me leave Aleyna,”

“She made my life a living hell for the last few days, I am glad you did not have to go through her warth,”

“We should leave as well,” Nihalika and Aleyna said, it was already 12, it will take another half an hour for them to reach back at their apartment.

Dev held Aleyna’s hand and kissed it, “Ping me once you back safely,” He said as Aleyna blushed, Nihalika left them alone as Kush too got busy with some work.

Nayera was sitting alone in the car thinking of the whole scenario of the last few days, Aleyna was so hurt when she called Nayera that day.

“Era, you left us alone there,” Nihalika said as she opened the door for passanger side.

“Yeah thought to give you guys some privacy,” Nayera said before she drove off not giving the girls a single chance to question her anymore.
