3.

Monday came, and it was the first day of school for Letty. Well, more like the first day of school in this city since it was actually the middle of the semester, and the girl couldn't be more bummed out. She was already tired of this. Of constantly being the new girl, always having to be sociable and meet new people. She was just tired of it. And the fact that her parents were still not talking to her, even after an entire weekend was making her feel more down than ever.

She sighed, checking herself out in the mirror for a last time before she grabbed her bag and went downstairs, where her mom was already preparing a few bites for breakfast.

"Hi mom," She looked at her, gauging her reaction before reaching to grab a scone and munch on it.

Of course she wouldn't answer.

Angry and hurt, she placed the scone back down on the table and clutched onto the strap of her bag, ready to get out of the house as quick as possible when the front door opened and closed, the girl shocked to see her dad and officer Evans again.

She still felt a little wary of him after whatever that was on friday night, consciously avoiding to look directly in his eyes as she meekly greeted them.

"Hi officer, hi dad,"

"Listen, Luke's gonna drive you to school for today and the rest of these four months as well," Her dad immediately cut to the chase, using a somber tone.

"What? Why?" Her eyes widened, too shocked to even try and hide her displeasure of having to ride with him everyday as she stared at her dad in disbelief.

Why was he doing this? Was he going crazy? She was eighteen, for the love of God, not five! She could definitely handle herself!

"For security reasons. And that's all you are allowed to know," He answered in an autoritative tone, leaving no room for arguments.

"What? But-"

"No buts. You are going with him, end of story!"

The girl flinched at her father's harsh tone, knowing that there was nothing she could say or do to change his mind. Not to mention that there was probably a serious matter going on at work for him to appeal to such drastic measures, but for the life of her, she just couldn't willingly accept such thing.

She was going to take a ride to school with officer Evans everyday, until the school ended? That was just too much!

She felt like crying as she dragged her gaze from her father to officer Evans, thinking about how she was possibly about to be made fun of by her new classmates and maybe even the entire school. Not to mention that she wasn't exactly fond of having to be alone in a car with him, everyday for a certain amount of time. She still hadn't figured out what that thing with his eyes was. Maybe it was a trick of the light, maybe the supernatural world was actually real, who the hell knew!

She let out a small and angered grunt, tightly clutching onto that poor strap of her bag and stormed out of the house, not even bothering to check if officer Wolfy-Eyes was following her or not.

He could've gotten lost, for all she cared.

Throwing a look at the sleek black SUV awaiting in the driveway, she debated for a second whether to climb in the front passenger seat or in the back, lastly deciding to just ignore her wariness of him and ride in the front as she was usually getting sick whenever she was riding in the back -depending on the driver's skills- and she didn't even know yet if he was actually a good driver or not.

She opened the car door, throwing herself in the seat before rather loudly slamming the poor door, buckling her seatbelt and then laying back in her seat whilst deliberately refusing to even acknowledge him as he climbed in as well and turned on the engine, smoothly exiting the driveway.

"He has a good reason, you know. For doing this," She heard him speak after a little while, his words making her turn her head to face him with a look that said, "are you for real?".

Wait, what am I thinking? Of course he would side with him.

She thought as she continued to glare at him.

"Look, I'm not supposed to tell you this but because of your dad's last mission, your family has recently became a target for some very dangerous people. We have to do this. We have to protect you, and your mom," He sincerely said, momentarily turning to give her a quick glance.

Letty's facial expression morphed, feeling a little bit stupid now and embarrassed as well for her rather childish reactions as she lastly realized that her father was only trying to protect her. Even if it actually included taking rather drastic measures.

"I'm...sorry..." She mumbled under her breath after a small sigh, averting her gaze back to the windshield to wallow in her sad and dejected misery as he continued to drive her to school.

Neither of them said anything more, falling into a deep silence, the girl lost into her own thoughts whilst Lukas threw her side glances from time to time, constantly checking her state.

He couldn't help himself.

She was his, after all.

His destined one.

He had known it from the very first second he laid eyes on her. He could feel it within. That pull, that excruciating and heart-wrenching desire, beside the constant need to know her safe.

He could feel that she was also attracted to him, and that it scared her so much.

Oh, and she had every right to be scared.

It was her natural instinct after all, screaming from within, warning her of the unseen danger.

Of the monster hidden beneath those alluring features and kind smile.

That same monster that wanted to devour her with every fiber of his being, everytime he was around her.

His hand gripped a little tighter around the steering wheel, inhaling her unique scent with every breath as every corner of the car was already filled with it, adjusting his position every now and then as their proximity in such small and confined space was already starting to bother him, and the monster as well.

It wanted to do things to her. It wanted to take over and stop the car somewhere, lock the doors so she couldn't escape him and take her in his lap, tasting her sweet skin and blood as he impaled her with his throbbing member and made her ride him until exhaustion.

It wanted to hear her cries, her heavy breaths as he gave it to her hard and fast until completion, making her his in every way.

Sadly, that can't happen, his own consciousness reminded him.

Not only she was much younger, but she also happened to be his friend's daughter.

He wouldn't dare betray him like this.

Not to mention that he could actually hurt her too, seeing as that she was only human, whereas he was a powerful and vicious creature.

He could hurt her so easily in the process, possibly even kill her by accident.

She was so fragile and small, compared to a female creature of his own kind.

It was pretty obvious that she couldn't handle a beast like him. It could actually rip her apart and he definitely wouldn't want that.

He'd barely known her yet his very being was already calling out to her, forcing him to care for her and protect her with everything he had.

She was his and he had to protect what belonged to him, at every cost. Even if it slowly killed him to be around her and not be able to even touch her like he so badly wished to.

Oh and how he wanted to.

He tiredly exhaled, passing another glance at the object of his desires, watching her casually tap and scroll away at her phone as he finally pulled the car in her new school's parking lot, effectively drawing her attention as she lastly noticed that they had arrived at their destination.

Her beautiful green eyes remained trained on the sea of strangers occupying the front area of the school for a few moments as she simply sat there in silence, inadvertently sending Lukas her anxious and conflicted emotions through that special bond they were already sharing ever since they'd laid eyes on each other.

"It's gonna be okay, don't worry," He was the first one to speak, quickly drawing her attention to him.

"Text me if anything happens, okay?" He told her, earning himself a completely confused stare right before he swiftly snatched the phone from her hands and tapped his number in, giving it a short call before ending it and saving it in her contacts as Luke.

He didn't want to act too formal and cold with her yet he didn't want her to get too comfortable with him either as they could only be friends, at best.

So he gave her a warm and reassuring smile, coaxing her to get out of the car and get on with her first day of school after he'd given her the phone back, amusedly watching her fluster and stumble around the whole time whilst throwing him confused glances, surely affected by him and what he just did.
