Stepsister?
Dayle
Sunday!
04:15 am,
Should I say that Amber and I had the entire night to ourselves? Damn yeah, we did. We had a lot to drink and more time to just fuck.
My friends and I haven't even met since the last discussion, no one texted or called like we always do and no one had the time to do so. Perhaps.
The security guard automated the gate open for me to pass through, he gave me that 'little brat' look; he can only look and do nothing.
I pulled over at the parking space and lazily found my way into the house. My father's hand man, Dom, started asking me so many questions and I simply fell on deaf ears.
"...I'm talking to you, young man. Where are you coming from?" his hand caught my arm.
"Get your hands off me, prick!" I barked.
"Don't talk to me that way bro, I'm not your son!" he scolded, letting my hand fall. I huffed angrily in an attempt to walk away.
"You better not do this same shit again, Dayle. You can't always leave your father worried all through the night. Don't let it happen again!" he raised his voice a bit.
"I fucking heard Dom, happy now!" I snapped at him and walked away.
Honestly, he is someone I fear a lot, I mean he's very huge, he could crush me despite being tall, he's literally taller. My father hired him two years ago and ever since he's been living with us, Dad lets him handle a few businesses when he is unable to. There was this time Dad let him beat my ass because I took his credit card to spend on a girl, I hated my life, and my body ached for two weeks. I had to lie to my friends and schoolmates that I flew out of the country for a family vacation. Pathological lie.
As soon as I entered my bedroom, I fell flat on my belly on the bed and that was it. I slept off.
~
01:40 pm,
"Dayle, it's time for lunch. You need to take a shower and join your father and Dom at the table!" I heard our chief maid’s voice. Nina.
"Fuck! Dom's there? I thought he leaves every Sunday?!" I mumbled with sleepy eyes while Nina unfurls the blinds and shoves the blanket off me. "Nina you can't keep doing this, what if you saw my dick or something you are not supposed to see?”
"Tell that to your countless girlfriends!" she casually snapped, standing over me.
"How would you know?!" I said and stepped out of bed with a warm smirk.
"I follow you on Insta, all notifications are turned on, so I know." she snapped. Why on earth is she following me for? She's a stalker.
"I'm one step away from blocking you!" I snapped.
"Rude! How would you know what I look like?" she asked and shrugged while I stared at her; amused. "Your bathing water is set, pick from the variety of clothes and shoes, and don't forget your skincare routine then come down to eat. Your father says in twenty minutes!" she added before leaving. I knew that I had a lot to talk about with my father.
He will be pissed.
I reached for my cell phone and the first thing I saw was Amber's texts.
Hey D, I had fun last night.
Was awesome! We are trending???
*Wasn't it our secret?
The next text is spaced between ten to fifteen minutes.
Oh my bad, I actually went live while we were drunk! And please reply to me soon! Luv
I took a moment to process the texts that felt irrelevant at the moment.
Okay!
I hit send and tossed my phone on the sheets before heading to the bathroom, I honestly feel nauseous right now.
~
I saw Dad and Dom talking over the meal. I inhaled and exhaled before coming into light.
"Morning, Dad! Hi, Dom!" I knew that I was acting up; I haven't greeted my father or Dom in the past weeks.
"Last time that you said hi was last two weeks. Fucking Dayle, very irresponsible!" Dad snapped angrily at me while I maintained my silence. "Where have you been all night?" he asked, his gaze sharper than knife.
"I told you about Max's party—"
"You promised to return by 11,"
"But Dad, I felt it was too late and that's why—"
"Since when did you start making decisions or feeling LATE?" he started to scold me. Yeah, I already prepared for this. "You can't flock in and out of MY house without caution little guy, there are certain things that you can't do," his stated, his voice firm.
"Fuck!" I whisperrd under my breath. "Dad I'm 18! Jeez!" I retorted.
"Really? You could as well work your ass out there and start paying rent because as far as I can remember, you live rent-free. What else are you seeking that's better than listening to simple basic instructions?! I give you cars, good life, comfort, money, and excess money. What the fuck do you want, Dayle?" he scolded. The disappointment in his tone was palpable and it kinda broke a part of me.
I remained silent. Damn! I've heard these same lines for the past years now. He's misunderstanding the whole thing; I thought that after hearing Max, he would be a lesser problem. I was wrong. Still wrong.
"My bad," I snapped. "It's not gonna happen again, happy?!" I turned to my food while he scoffed.
"You think this is a favor? You better fix that tone, because I'm one step away from seizing your cars, the money, and restricting your movement. One more mistake and it's a round-up for you!" he added firmly.
"Sir Owen, please calm down!" Dom calmly interrupted.
"I can't breed a fucking blockheaded person instead of a son!" Dad added and left the table angrily.
"Dayle?" Dom called but I ignored. And then he called again. "Dayle?" raising his voice.
"What? What the fuck is wrong with you? You're not my dad!" I said to him nonchalantly.
"Don't even pray for that because I hate sons like you! Now, you better go up there and apologize to your father or I'll make you do so!" he stated angrily, his vein sprouting like a shrub.
"I ain't saying shit to him or you! Do the fuck you want!" I rose to leave as he blurted out again.
"Your father is sick and this is the shit you are best at? Triggering hos health? If you can't apologize, I would make that happen. Trust me, I have your father's consent!" he warned and it sounded like the last.
"Honestly, fuck you. Like, a million times over! Fuck you!" I scowled at him, taking my food along heading for the stairs; I just wantsd to be in my room already.
~
It has been two hours since the argument, Dom had ordered the security to lock up the gate, and he took my car keys, credit cards, and cell phones. He said that I had to apologize to Dad first.
I hated the fact that Dad gave him so power much over me, it kills me. I didn't know that Dad has been sick.
I mean, how would I notice when I practically don't stay home? Most times I skip school except for this semester; it's only been four weeks anyways.
I put aside my fucking pride to finally see my dad, I couldn't live without money or the cars or even my phones, I needed them all.
I took a deep breath and knocked on the door before stepping inside. I saw him talking to Dom and Nina, and they were laughing until I cleared my throat.
"Dad! I wanna have a word with you,"
"We are talking! It's either you join in or leave!" Dad nonchalantly stated as my face dropped.
"Please!" I added. I could hear how pathetic already and they are all enjoying it, it was on their faces. Dad gestured at Dom and Nina to leave, she took along the tray that had a glass of half-taken water and Dad's medicines. Fuck, I didn't know that it was this serious.
"Behave, bro!" Dom said to me and I felt like punching him in the face. Respectfully.
I walked over to my dad, who was sitting on the edge of the bed while I dragged a seat and sat in front of him.
"Dad,"
"Yes, rebel?!”
Really? I scoff lightly and continued.
"I'm sorry about everything! I shoulda—"
"What exactly did you do at that party?"
"But dad," my voice dropped.
"Just answer. It's either you were drinking or driving 220 degrees or fucking girls or something!" he listed, a veil of embarrassment slightly covered my face.
I was guilty as charged.
"Dad chill, I was at Max's party. You can ask him, I promise. And I'm sorry about the way I spoke to you and Dom, I got carried away!" I calmly said, practically being in my best behavior.
"I want to believe that, but it's obvious you want your cell phones or cards or keys back, the one that I used my hard earned money to provide—"
"Dad, I promise that I am not gonna do anything like that again. No coming home by 4 am. I swear on Mom," I vowed on my late mother as his face loosened a little.
"Enough! You really know how to get me, but it won't always work!" he sternly said although his face softened. "I had wanted us to talk last night not until Dom told me that you weren't home. It's really important!" he looked serious and it piqued my interest.
"I'm all ears. And again, I'm sorry!"
"Okay! Err... You know that I'm seeing someone, don't you?" he began as I lightly nodded.
"Yeah?" I started thinking about a lot of things, like remarrying.
"The same lady you bump into most times—"
"Even that time in your room?" I interrupted softly and now I was being sarcastic and a tiltal asshole. I saw him kissing the lady the other day.
"Yes, even that!" his face tightened a little, yet he tried to keep it straight. "We are getting married soon, in a month!"
I grew confused and super mad. He's already replacing Mom?
"You are replacing Mom?" I asked out loud, my mood instantly changing.
"Dayle? Calm down," he tried to coax, but I was adamant.
"No fucking way you are gonna get married to another woman, like the hell!" I blurted.
He rubbed his eyes under the reading glasses and turned to me again.
"Would you rather I sleep with countless women? Like, you do?"
"Dad it's not about me, it's about Mom!" I retorted firmly, why was he putting it up on me now?!
"Vee is dead, okay?” he almost yelled. “And I hate that she left us and I still love her to this day, but I also found another woman like your Vee. I promise that she is very nice, sensible and decent. Like your mom!" his voice lowered.
The look in his eyes were desperate about my consent and I couldn't bring myself to agree just yet. Mom was everything to us and replacing her would be unforgivable.
"She can never be mom,"
"No one mentioned that she is or would be!" he adjusted in his seat, taking off his glasses. "You are smart and reasonable, but you should also see reasons. I'm a man, and you know what that means don't you?"
Fucking yeah, I do. I'm just concerned, deliriously.
"Lena is nice and a great woman, she will be your new mother even if you don't accept it right away, someday you will learn to get to know her better. I have never asked you for anything Dayle, so this is my request... That you understand that life must go on!" he calmly said.
Swelling in my thoughts, I asked. "You say she's got children..."
I'm not too good with kids.
"A daughter about your age!”
A stepsister? About my age? Nah, I don't think I want to hear that.
