Chapter 5

As we continued to walk, our hearts pounding with fear and uncertainty, I knew that our journey was far from over. The Alpha was still out there, lurking in the shadows, waiting to strike.

"Olivia, do you know where we're going?" Jake asked, his voice tense.

I shook my head, "No, I don't. I'm just trying to get as far away from the pack as possible."

"We need a plan," he said, "We can't keep running forever."

"I know," I replied, "But for now, we need to focus on keeping ourselves and the baby safe."

Suddenly, we heard a rustling in the bushes nearby. We both froze, our senses on high alert.

"Who's there?" Jake called out, his voice wavering slightly.

There was no answer. Just silence.

"Let's keep moving," I whispered, my hand on my stomach protectively.

We walked for what felt like hours, our eyes scanning the surrounding area for any signs of danger. As the sun began to rise, we finally stumbled upon a small cabin deep in the woods.

"We can rest here for a while," Jake said, unlocking the door.

Inside, the cabin was sparsely furnished, with a small bed and a table with two chairs. We collapsed onto the bed, exhausted from our long journey.

"We need to figure out a plan," Jake said, his eyes meeting mine.

"I know," I replied, "But what can we do? The Alpha is still out there, and he'll stop at nothing to find us."

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. We both jumped, our hearts racing.

"Who's there?" Jake called out, his hand on the doorknob.

"It's me," a familiar voice replied.

I recognized the voice immediately. It was Sarah, one of my closest friends from the pack.

"Sarah?" I said, rushing to open the door.

"Olivia, thank God you're okay," she said, tears streaming down her face.

"How did you find us?" I asked, puzzled.

"I've been trying to track you down for days," she replied, "I knew you wouldn't last long on your own."

"What do you want?" Jake asked, his voice cold.

"I want to help," Sarah said, "I know a way to take down the Alpha once and for all."

We both looked at her, skeptical.

"What's your plan?" I asked, my eyes narrowing.

Sarah took a deep breath, "There's a powerful witch who lives in the nearby town. She's been at odds with the Alpha for years. I think if we can convince her to help us, we might have a chance."

I looked at Jake, unsure.

"What do you think?" I asked him.

"I don't trust her," he replied, "But we don't have many options."

We agreed to follow Sarah's lead and set out for the town. As we walked, my mind raced with thoughts of what could go wrong. But I knew that we had to do something to protect our family.

Little did we know, our journey was about to take a shocking turn. As we approached the town, we spotted a figure in the distance. It was the Alpha, and he was headed straight for us.

Meanwhile, Olivia's former pack were gathered in a dimly lit cabin deep in the woods, huddled around a table strewn with maps and papers. They had heard of the rejection, but they couldn't let one of their own carry a descendant and be lost to them forever.

"We have to bring her back," the Alpha growled, his eyes blazing with determination. "No matter what it takes."

"But how?" one of the pack members piped up. "Jake is a strong lone wolf. We can't just go charging in there."

"We don't have to," the Alpha replied, a sly grin spreading across his face. "We have an advantage. Jake is one of us."

"What? How?" another member asked, clearly confused.

The Alpha leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper. "He was exiled years ago because of his fornication with a human. But he's still a part of our pack, and he owes us for taking him in when he had nowhere else to go."

The pack members murmured their agreement, but one spoke up hesitantly. "But what about Olivia's rejection? If Jake couldn't protect her then, how can he protect her now?"

The Alpha's grin widened. "Because this time, we'll be helping him. We'll go in together, and with the element of surprise on our side, we'll overpower Jake and take Olivia back where she belongs."

The pack members nodded, excitement and fear mingling in their eyes.

"But what if Jake fights back?" someone asked.

The Alpha's smile turned deadly. "Then we'll show him that he can't mess with our pack and get away with it."

Suddenly, the door to the cabin burst open, and a young wolf ran in, panting heavily.

"Alpha, we found him," he gasped.

The Alpha had his plans.

As they made their way to the clearing, the pack members could feel the tension building inside them. They knew they were about to face a lone wolf, but they also knew that the stakes were high. Olivia's baby was one of their own, and they couldn't let her be lost to them forever.

As they reached the clearing, they saw Jake standing protectively over Olivia and the baby, his eyes flashing with defiance.

"Jake," the Alpha called out, his voice booming across the clearing. "We've come to take Olivia back where she belongs."

Jake's eyes narrowed, and he bared his teeth in a snarl. "Over my dead body," he growled.

The pack members stepped forward, their eyes glowing with a fierce determination. They knew they were stronger in numbers, and they were ready to do whatever it took to bring Olivia back.

Suddenly, one of the pack members let out a cry of recognition. "Wait," she called out. "Jake... he's one of us. He was exiled because of fornication, but he's still a part of the pack."

The Alpha's expression softened slightly, but he held his ground. "That may be true," he said. "But Olivia has my unborn child."

Jake's eyes flickered with uncertainty, and for a moment, it seemed like he might back down. But then he stood taller, his voice ringing out with a fierce determination.

"I won't let you take her," he said. "I'll fight you all if I have to."

The pack members braced themselves, ready for a fight. But then, something unexpected happened. Olivia stepped forward, her eyes shining with a fierce determination.

"I won't go back," she said. "I chose Jake, and I stand by that choice. If you want to fight him, you'll have to go through me first."

The pack members exchanged a look of surprise, but then their expressions hardened once again. They knew what they had to do.

Who did Jake fornicate with? Olivia became curious. He was once a member of the pack?
