Chapter 9

Kelly followed Alan into the restaurant. Kelly seemed to actually resent this man, but for the sake of her career in her job she was willing as long as she didn't get fired. Kelly wanted to live independently after this so she had to have a job or else she would still be dependent on her parents.

"We're outside the office now, why don't you walk side by side with me?"

Kelly heard Alan's question well but she pretended to be deaf and didn't want to hear it. The man claimed to be an Alpha and he did not want to be a Luna, even though he was a Luna but he just wanted to live as an ordinary human in this world. Without getting involved with wars and without getting involved with deaths based on wars.

There are only two kinds of war, winning will still cause casualties, losing will still get casualties. As Luna was needed she knew that her power would definitely be fully utilized in that war, in a war that she had never participated in because she did not live in the wolf world either. Kelly didn't want to be the victim of death for nothing, she had already had a hard time living in the human world and would she have to suffer again with the pain of her wounds and sacrifice to make an independent clan?

No, Kelly hated royal affairs because usually the King would not be enough with one woman. Moreover, the Alpha leading her was Alan, this man was quite handsome and it would put Kelly in danger if it continued. Kelly was sure that Alan would either be duplicitous in the marriage or would add more concubines to his life.

It sucks to think about, so Kelly didn't want to do it.

Alan stopped suddenly and that made Kelly quite wary so she also stopped without bumping into the man's back like she often saw in dramas between bosses and secretaries. Kelly was a Luna and a woman who had the abilities of a Queen, even though she didn't live in a situation that required her to be vigilant but she still had a vigilant nature. So when Alan stopped right in front of her suddenly, she wouldn't bump into him either because she had good focus even when she was daydreaming.

"Please, sir. I have prepared the private room for you that was reserved a few hours ago along with the food inside. If there is anything missing, please let me know..."

Alan just mumbled in reply to the waiter, as he went inside and was followed by Kelly who stayed casually behind him. There was Rocky following them so she was sure that Alan wouldn't do anything outrageous, this man definitely still had etiquette and wouldn't be tyrannical.

"Sit down... The colleague said that they might be a few minutes late." Rocky said looking at Kelly who seemed to stay where she was.

The woman said nothing and just sat down without saying much, while Alan was already looking at Rocky's face seriously.

"You have to keep your manners to Luna, don't talk to her carelessly because she is my mate in the wolf world."

Hearing that Rocky immediately turned his body to face Alan, before he finally looked down and nodded politely.

"Sorry, Alpha..."

Kelly gave them a flat look and then leaned back and snuggled. "Luna is only a title for a woman who will become your wife. When she becomes your wife, she will be called Luna, while I am nothing but a staff secretary. It's like in your clan I'm just a meaningless little omega. Why would you go overboard like that?" she asked flatly making Alan smile a little.

"The only one who refuses that is you, not me. Only you refuse to be recognized as Luna while I still consider you as such. Whether you get married or not will be a matter for later when you change your mind. In my heart you are Luna and that cannot be changed because I have my own heart and thoughts towards you."

Kelly chuckled at that and turned her face away. She was a little annoyed by this man's words but didn't say anything more because she was too lazy to fight him. In this concept Alan was still her boss and Kelly couldn't just reply to this man's words or she would be fired.

"What's wrong with me anyway? I'm a handsome and powerful man, in the human world I'm the heir to a big company and the richest man in town, in the wolf world I'm a respected leader and Alpha. Why wouldn't you want to be with me, Luna?"

Kelly snorted. "If I were with you, I would have to endure the heartache of seeing you making out intimately with hundreds of concubines, wouldn't I?" she said flatly making Alan raise his eyebrows.

"Alpha is loyal, that is a lie, if your own father is a person who is willing to hurt the feelings of your mother who is the original Luna, then you will also more or less imitate his nature. I've also told you that I'm not someone you can just bully.

"In the human world you've been asked to become the husband of one of your father's business partner's daughters, who is wealthy and will probably compete with me in the future if I accept you. I hate competition and I also hate being betrayed. As a king there is only one woman enough to be your wife. I'm not willing to be a woman who sacrifices a lot but also has to endure so much heartache and pain. I decided to never marry at all rather than be a madman in marriage."

Alan was silent while Rocky couldn't say anything because Alan wasn't talking either. The man just kept silent as Kelly spoke so straightforwardly and without beating around the bush. The woman sounded so wise and made Alan admire her even more but he also knew that Kelly's words might be true one day.

His father had the trait of changing women and that of course made him worry about himself. Most traits like that would be contagious especially when they shared the same traits as animals. Although most Wolves would be loyal to one mate, but most were not easy to do that because they would be tempted by something without being able to predict when it would happen.

"Alpha... You are someone who is capable of doing anything on their own. An Alpha is the strongest Wolf who does not need any help to overcome his own clan. Moreover, how could an Alpha ask for help from a weak female wolf like me. That sounds ridiculous because the Alpha was created to be a strong leader and will be unrivaled. If I become the key to solving your war then it will only be a joke because someday people will continue to mock you as incompetent and useless. Does that make sense?"

Alan sighed softly and looked at Kelly's face. "What you say may be true, but I can't say for sure that it will happen. It's probably true that everyone will follow their father's genes if the father is a cheater then most of the children will do the same. I know as a woman you just want the one and only, I can give you my weakness for you to threaten. You know, the only one who holds the weakness of the oldest and strongest leader of the wolf path is Moon Goddess, but I can also give it to you as a guarantee that I will not hurt you. How about it?"

Kelly smiled sarcastically. "What for, just to threaten you not to cheat on me?" she asked, to which Alan nodded in return. "I can't do that. I just want something sincere without any coercion or threats. Why should I be the only one you love? I'll just be a display partner that you'll use for certain things only? I'm not really cared for and wanted?"

Alan was silent again and then looked at Rocky who was also unable to say anything. Most likely what Kelly said was true. If Alan was just using her as a weapon to stop the war then it was quite painful for her unwanted status. But the consequence of living in a royal life was to accept everything that happened in it without exception.

The kingdom and the life in it were not as beautiful as imagined. There are many things that can happen just to maintain the majesty and glory. True love does not necessarily happen in the royal world because it will only create weakness.

Although their system was different in that the eternal spouse was fixed, but it would only be an interlude and not the main impression. How many Alpha's had to marry women other than Luna just to gain an advantage. It all depended on how things were going in the palace.

"You won't be able to leave the power you currently have from the human world. If you refuse your father's orders and requests you will most likely not become the heir and you may be thrown out because you are adopted children. Your father wants you to get a woman who is an equal, not me who is below the standard. You can't afford to lose this power just to live a life with a woman who doesn't have any abilities like me," Kelly interrupted making Alan sigh.

This woman still had a lot of words to say to stifle Alan's intention to have her. There was only one way to convince her, by making her fall in love and by falling in love sincerely.

Alan only had that method because he knew that in the future it would be easier to get Kelly if he was already in love.

To mark her as Luna Alan had already succeeded with the romance last night. Now it was just a matter of bringing her to her knees so he could marry her.
