Chapter 2

"Abella, I'll hold off Mom for you, just go!" Isla acted like she was blocking Skylar.

Abella's lips curled up a bit, and her mesmerizing eyes seemed to see right through everything.

Isla felt a bit intimidated. Abella had this casual yet commanding vibe, like a queen on her throne.

It made people uneasy and a bit guilty.

Abella took the necklace, her lips curling slightly. Such a cheap sapphire, she really didn't care for it.

The necklace was not to her liking, not in its color, clarity, nor cut. What kind of workshop could have produced something so subpar? How was this worth a hundred thousand dollars? To her, it was worthless.

Just when everyone thought Abella would take the necklace, she tossed it straight into the trash can.

Her movements were quick and decisive, without a second of hesitation.

Everyone was dumbfounded, even Skylar was stunned for a moment, angrily saying, "Abella, what are you doing! This is Isla's favorite necklace, she kindly gave it to you, but you threw it away!"

"She gave it to me, so I have the right to do whatever I want with it." Abella raised an eyebrow and said indifferently, "Over the years, I haven't taken anything you bought for me."

A mere necklace wouldn't catch her eye.

"The clothes I'm wearing and the things in my backpack, I bought them myself," she continued.

Abella's words made one of the maids sneer, "You bought them yourself? Isn't your money given by Mr. and Mrs. Wilson?"

"Where my money comes from, do I need to report to you?" Abella shot back. "Mind you own business."

The maid's face turned red with anger, but she had no choice but just let out a snort.

"Alright." Jeff sighed, trying to keep the peace, "Abella, it's about time, let me see you out."

"No need, Mr. Wilson, please stay." Abella refused.

This address was intentionally distancing herself from him.

Skylar sneered, Abella had never been to the mountains, she didn't know how hard life was there. Now she was eager to distance herself, but later she'd better not come crying for help!

"Mr. Wilson, aren't you going to check her bag? It seems to me it's packed with a lot of stuff." The maid from earlier reminded Jeff, unwilling to give up.

"Alright." Jeff, being the richest man in Economic City, wouldn't care even if Abella really took something.

He wouldn't stoop to searching her bag!

Abella walked out the door with her backpack, where a black car was parked.

What was different was that this car clearly had signs of being hit, not only was the rear cover lifted, but the body was dented, and the windshield was also cracked.

The driver got out of the car somewhat embarrassed, his glasses crooked, obviously broken.

But when he saw Abella, he was slightly stunned.

Abella had delicate features, a charming nose, and her enchanting appearance was exactly like Mrs. Medici when she was young!

However, Abella had more presence and was more captivating than Mrs. Medici at that time.

"Sorry, Ms. Medici." The driver hurried to Abella, sincerely apologizing, "I was rear-ended by a truck just now, unexpectedly hit the guardrail. Afraid of delaying your precious time, so I didn't go home to change the car, but I checked, the car has no problems, just doesn't look good."

This sentence revealed a lot of information.

Wasn't it said that Abella's home was in a poor mountain area, and yet there was a car?

If Abella wasn't mistaken, this car was a custom Rolls-Royce, the only one in the world, worth over a hundred million dollars.

The driver hurriedly added, "Oh, I forgot to introduce myself, I'm the family driver, you can call me Tom."

She also had a dedicated driver?

It seemed her family wasn't as bad as the Wilson family said.

"Ms. Medici, where's your luggage?" Tom asked, noticing Abella only had a backpack. "Is it inside? I can grab it for you."

"No need, all my stuff is here," Abella replied lazily.

Tom nodded, "Alright, please wait in the car. I'll take the gifts Mr. and Mrs. Medici prepared inside to thank your foster parents, and then we'll head out."

He pulled the handle to open the back door, intending to invite Abella into the car.

But then, the car door fell off with a loud clatter!

The truck had hit the car so hard earlier that it broke the door.

The Wilson family, who had just come out, saw the whole thing.

Isla was amazed!

What kind of junk car was this? Was the door made of paper? How could they even drive it out and embarrass themselves like this?

How poor must this family be? Even such a car had to be brought out to show off.

Skylar couldn't believe Abella's biological family was this bad.

Such a broken car, how could they have the nerve to drive it out? Didn't they feel ashamed?

Wait, Abella's real home was in a poor mountain area, there shouldn't be a car at home!

This car was probably borrowed by this guy from a friend to show off, right?

Unfortunately, he wasn't a good driver and crashed it on the way?

If that was the case, then things would be interesting. When they returned the car, they would have to pay for it!

Jeff looked at the man in front of him, dirty all over, with obvious oil stains on his suit. 'Is this man a car mechanic? He doesn't look like Abella's brother, could he be Abella's father?' he thought.

This man must have rushed over from the repair shop, driving someone else's car to show off.

If that was the case, then this man was very vain.

There was no need to pretend to be rich in front of the richest man in Economic City.

Although there was a Rolls-Royce logo on the hood, Jeff, being a person of high status, could tell that this car didn't look like any model under Rolls-Royce.

Jeff had lived for so many years and had never seen such a Rolls-Royce!

This logo was definitely fake!

Tom, because he had checked the car just now, accidentally got his suit dirty. Seeing the Wilson family come out of the villa, he didn't care much and hurriedly took out a few gift boxes from the trunk.

These gift boxes were specially instructed by Mr. and Mrs. Medici to be delivered to the Wilson family.

Unfortunately, the truck rear-ended just now, and the gift boxes were dented, looking bad.

"You must be Mr. Wilson?" Tom approached Jeff, politely offering the gift boxes. "These are a little token of our appreciation, please accept them."

"How can that be?" Jeff hurriedly declined, "You're too kind! These years we..."

"No need for the gifts! Just take Abella back quickly, don't keep your family waiting!" Skylar interrupted, withdrawing her gaze and heading back inside without even bothering to watch the show.

Such broken gift boxes, they couldn't be anything good. Their family didn't need such things!

Isla held back a sarcastic smile, following Skylar, looking superior, like a victorious winner. She didn't expect Abella's biological family to be so bad, it was really satisfying!

Some of the maids entered with a look of disdain, while others seemed to pity her.

Only Jeff stood there awkwardly, "Then have a safe trip, I'll pass these gifts to Abella's family elders as a token of my appreciation."

"But this..." Tom couldn't make this decision; these gifts were specifically instructed by Mr. and Mrs. Medici to be given to the Wilson family.

"Abella." Jeff's gaze fell on Abella as he was gently saying, "When you get there, be obedient, respect your parents, don't worry about me, prioritize things over there, remember it!"
