2. Unexpected Encounters

Leo's POV

I took the woman I hit to my mansion. Though I didn't remember the accident, I couldn't leave her injured and alone on a forest road.

"How is she? She's been unconscious until now," I wondered, standing by her bedside.

"Should I call the doctor again, sir?" Rocky, my beta, asked.

"No need. The doctor has already treated her wounds. Maybe she'll wake up soon," I replied, refusing to bring in another doctor.

"Just take care of the pack's borders. Slaughter anyone suspicious. We need to be vigilant. I don't understand how this woman managed to enter the untouched forest area. Hurry and tighten the guard at the border," I ordered Rocky.

After he left, I sat next to the woman and observed her closely.

"I'm sure she's human. How did she end up stranded here?" I asked myself in confusion.

"Is she some creature disguised as a human?" I wondered, unsure.

"But she feels human. Am I wrong, or is this some kind of trick?" I questioned, suspicious.

I approached her face, trying to discern more information.

"I'm sure she's human," I concluded, still trying to analyze her scent.

"AAAAAAAAAA!!!!" Suddenly, the woman woke up and shouted loudly, startling me.

"What do you want? Don't mess with me! If you dare mess with me, you'll die by my hand!" she threatened.

I was annoyed. "I just wanted to make sure you were human or not!" I retorted.

"I'm human! Do you think I'm a demon? There's no demon as beautiful as me!" she snorted.

"How confident you are!" I replied with a smirk.

She tried to stand up, wincing in pain. "Arghh!!! It hurts," she groaned, holding her bandaged head.

"Are you crazy? I just want to make sure you're safe," I said, somewhat exasperated.

"I'm leaving. I don't know who you are. You could be a demon. I don't want to put myself in danger," she insisted, attempting to walk away.

"Hey! Do you think this vast forest guarantees your safety? If you get eaten by a wolf, you'll end up as a meal for a large animal," I pointed out, unable to understand her reasoning.

"And do you think you'll be safe wandering alone? No one knows if you're a demon or a human. That's even more dangerous," she retorted stubbornly, hobbling along.

"HEY! OF COURSE, I'M HUMAN!" I shouted, feeling the need to assert my identity.

She stopped in her tracks, startled by my loud outburst.

I moved closer, our distance becoming very close.

Her heart raced, clearly frightened.

"Do you think I'm a demon, huh?! Is there a demon who breathes?" I asked, pressing the back of her hand against my nose, playfully pretending to kiss it.

She tensed up, visibly scared.

"Do you think demons can be as handsome as me?" I continued, jumping up and down while striking a handsome pose.

"Can a devil change his face this quickly?" I then made an ugly face pose, showing off my versatility.

The woman burst out laughing at my antics.

"Why are you laughing? You think I'm a comedian?! Stop laughing!" I feigned annoyance.

"Hahaha... your face is so ugly. It makes me laugh. Hahaha...." she said, still chuckling.

"Shut up!" I jokingly silenced her with a serious face.

She froze in shock.

"Oh, I really don't like seeing that look of fear! I'm just kidding; don't take it too seriously," I said, removing my hand from her mouth.

"I'll take you home tomorrow. Tonight, you can stay in this room," I offered, taking out some clothes for her. I opened the wardrobe, he took out a new oversize shirt and jeans, then gave them to the woman.

"This is my room. I'll sleep in the other room. Then, take a shower. Put on this shirt and pants. There are no women here, so there are no women's clothes. My Omegas are women, but how could I give their clothes to you? Just wear these."

"Then, you must not have eaten yet. Let's eat. I'm hungry too." I invited her to join me.

I was known for being friendly and caring towards everyone.

"You're not going to poison me, are you?" she asked teasingly.

I leaned in and whispered, "If you want, I can eat you right now."

She took a few steps back, frightened.

"Hahaha... I'm just kidding. I like eating meat, but not human meat. Besides, I'm sure you're all bones," I laughed, enjoying scaring people.

"What's your name, by the way?" I asked. I just remembered that we hadn't been introduced yet.

"Ana," she replied.

"And you? What's your name?" she inquired.

"Leo. It's a handsome name, just like my face," I replied with a smug smile.

"I think you should look in the mirror more often. Your confidence level is already at its peak," she said, shaking her head in disbelief.

While we were talking, my wolf, Jack, suddenly mind-linked me and scolded me for taking care of a woman I didn't know.

"HEY STUPID LEO!!! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU? WHY ARE YOU TAKING CARE OF A WOMAN YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW!!! YOU IDIOT!!! YOUR JOB IS TO FIND OUR MATE, YOU IDIOT!!!"

"Shut up, Jack. Who do you think you are, calling me stupid?!" I retorted, breaking the mind-link.

"In fact, you are stupid!!! You are 27 years old, when are you going to find our mate?! Hurry up and find our mate!!" Jack continued to scold.

Ana asked what was wrong.

"Um, it's okay. I'm just hungry. I can no longer bear the worms that have been demoing in my stomach." I smiled forcefully. Of course, I answered with a lie.

As we continued walking, she quickened her pace, leaving me behind.

I laughed and ran to catch up with her.
