Chapter 6. Meeting Robert
Cynthia was dressed neatly when she was going to work, she then left her house and walked away while praying that her work would run smoothly and there would be no obstacles.
Cynthia cheerfully walks without realizing that she will bump into Robert who is known to be arrogant and likes to show off what he has.
Coinciding with that, Robert and Cynthia looked at each other making the woman immediately want to turn around and find another way, but the result? Robert instead said something that annoyed Cynthia.
"You want to go to work, huh?" Robert's voice started to sound, causing Cynthia, who previously didn't want to pay attention to Robert, to end up having to argue with the man.
She didn't like it at all when she had to argue with Robert because she preferred to go to work rather than having to argue with the man especially since it wasn't really important to do that.
"Can't you see for yourself if I'm going to work? You should know that, instead of inviting me to argue like this." Cynthia tried to be patient, she didn't want to be provoked by what Robert said, especially since she was going to work, Cynthia didn't want her mood to get bad.
"You have no shame? Do you even have children without a husband? Is it possible that your job is to be a cheap woman for hire and then you get pregnant and give birth to those children?" Robert berated Cynthia and ridiculed the woman for having children without a husband to accompany her. Of course, at first, Cynthia was annoyed but once again she didn't want to get emotional just because of Robert's words, which hurt her heart.
"I don't want to argue with you anymore, I don't want to be late for work so step aside because I want to pass." Cynthia was still able to control her emotions because after all she couldn't get provoked just because of Robert's words.
"Oh, so you feel like you lost arguing with me? Tell me how much your body is worth, Cynthia. I'll pay whatever it is as long as I can touch it.
Plaque!
A slap landed on Robert's cheek, Cynthia was already really annoyed with the man in front of her, her pride seemed to be trampled making her inevitably have to act.
"What are you doing, you slut! You slapped me with your rotten hand."
"You started the argument with me, Robert. I told you I wouldn't respond to you but you still forced me to act like this, you should have thought that if I wasn't as cheap as you said I was, I could have done something more." from this if you're still bothering me." Cynthia was annoyed with Robert because the man casually said something that hurt her heart, Cynthia was not the type of person who would remain silent when being humiliated like that, she would continue to fight in any way possible.
"You are a woman who has no shame, Cynthia. You are a cheap woman who has no self-esteem, what man would want a woman like you, huh? You better sell your body to me and I'll give it to you at a high price.
"That's enough, Robert. It's enough for you to make fun of me like that, just so you know that if I wasn't the kind of woman you say I was, I wouldn't sell my body to someone like you."
Cynthia wanted to get out of there but Robert kept forcing her to stay, confusing the woman, there was no other way to run away and leave the man in front of her.
"What else do you want? I already told you that I want to go to work right now, if you make a fuss out of me then now isn't the time."
"You reject me? I'm a handsome rich man but you're rejecting me instead? You ungrateful woman, no man wants to be with you, you can't be enjoyed anymore. That's why you better sell your body to me and I'll give you a lot of money." Cynthia was speechless anymore, she was confused about what to say when Robert continued to insult her and made her unable to hold back her emotions.
Cynthia was forced to step on the man's feet and just ran away leaving Robert alone, that was the only way for her to be free from the annoying Robert.
Finally, Cynthia was able to continue her journey to her workplace, but when she was walking she felt someone following her making Cynthia immediately turn around and pay attention to her surroundings, she didn't feel that someone was following but on the one hand, she felt someone was watching her from afar.
"Could it just be my hunch?" Cynthia finally continued on her way without paying attention to someone who might be following her. However, she didn't have time to think about that.
Arriving at work, she met Hana who was preparing the tables, Cynthia apologized for coming late and Hana didn't scold her at all.
Cynthia quickly went straight into her workplace to put her bag and jacket on.
"Did something happen, Cynthia? Why do you look like you're thinking about something?" The question from Hana suddenly made Cynthia shake her head. She didn't want to talk to Hana about what she was going through, especially about Robert who insulted her and made her feel selfless.
"I'm fine, there was just a small accident when I wanted to come here so I apologize to you once again."
"Gosh, but you're all right, aren't you? Are you okay?"
"No, I'm fine, you don't have to worry about this anymore, forget it, it's not important after all."
"But I'm really worried, if anything happens don't forget to tell me, okay? I'll always help you." Cynthia nodded her head, a sign that she understood what Hana was saying. They finally got back to work, but Hana said goodbye briefly to take out the trash last night that she forgot to take out.
Cynthia nodded her head and allowed Hana to take out the trash. However, when she followed Hana's body that was getting further away, Cynthia felt she saw a man standing near Hana and chatting with the man, but her face was very familiar at the same time even though the man was wearing a mask and also a thick jacket.
Cynthia frowned, she thought that the man was Hana's boyfriend because so far it was as if Hana had never chatted with a man intimately. Inwardly Cynthia smiled and immediately continued her work without thinking too much, especially when she felt that this man was Hana's business and Cynthia was not allowed to interfere in their affairs.
