Chapter 01

~Samara Pov~

Knock!

“Open the door! you little cunt!” He growled at the door, the intimidating sound that came out of his throat.

“I’m gonna tear you apart, how dare you snitch on me, you ungrateful child!” He snarled.

The bang on the door was heavy and persistent, I could feel it in my head. It won’t stop, I tossed and turned on the bed, clawed tight to the bedsheets with my eyes shut.

My face and neck were dampened with perspiration and my teeth clenched, I was panting for breath.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

The door was flung open and he was standing with a sly smile on his lips and his glare was menacing.

“You can’t hide from me, Samara, Daddy is here!” He chuckled evilly. “I will make it painful for being a snitch you brat!”

“No!” I shouted.

I gasped out, jumping up from the bed, and quickly flicked the light on with my shaking hands, and a sigh of relief washed over my face.

I opened the drawers and took out the anxiety drugs and swallowed them down my throat. I uncapped the water on the table and drank from them.

It was just a dream.

It was the same dream, it was already seven years ago but yet, but my foster father choose to torment me in my dreams so that I could barely sleep at night.

It was a few minutes before the alarm rang, I pushed the covers off and combed my hair with my fingers.

Opened the door of my room and walked downstairs to the kitchen to brew myself some coffee. I need to get the kids ready for school.

I walked gently down the stairs, I don’t want the kids to wake up yet they were quite sensitive to sound.

“Why is the kitchen such a mess?!” I huffed with my hands planted on my hips.

Those little peanuts!

They didn’t sneak out, did they?!

I warned them not to eat late-night snacks, I’m not gonna let them off this time.

Look at what they did! I closed the fridge and squat to take the ketchup from the ground and some broken plates, hissing through my teeth.

“Ah!” A loud thud made me freeze, I turned and looked around me, wondering where the sound came from and slowly rise to my feet.

“Please, no!” A scream followed the voice which I knew too well. My heart pound heavily in my chest, what is happening, that scream was of so much pain.

“Ah!” She screeched in agony.

What was going on?!

That was Nanny Yuri’s voice.

I hurled everything that was on my hands away, running back upstairs, which was clearly where the sound came from.

“Nanny, Yuri?” I called as I ran, as fast as I could.

“Nanny Yuri!” I called but there was no answer, the house suddenly felt so quiet as if not even a soul lived there.

What was this awful feeling?

“Yuri Makerle!” I shouted her name.

I pushed the door open, the door of my kid’s room.  The room was dark and I couldn’t see anything for a while and was trying to let my gaze settle in, and looked for the switch.

I turned on the light.

My knees immediately went faltered, my breath got caught up in my throat, I hit my fist on my chest, and it was getting difficult for me to breathe.

“Nanny, Yuri?” My voice came out weakly, I looked over her to the bed, it was empty.

Then I took my gaze back to Yuri, she was in the pool of her blood.

I ran to the bed, and take off the bedsheets.

“Where are they?” I asked no one in particular.

“Where is my son!” I screamed and then I heard a low whimper but I didn’t know where.

“Lex!” I shouted, my hair sprawled over my face.

They were still in the room, I looked around slowly and wiped the tears off with the back of my hand.

I saw the small feet behind the curtains, this wasn’t some prank was it?

If this was a dream, I had to wake up.

“Lois...” My voice quavered. “...Lex, Lincoln? Are you there, come on, talk to momma, if you’re there.” I sniffed and wiped my tears because the tears keep pouring out.

“Mmm...” It was a muffled sound, I reached to the curtains with a hand over it.

The wolf was snarling, it has been a long time since I sensed her ever since I choose to abandon my identity as a werewolf.

I growled, and my wolf was about to lunge forward, claws were crawling out of my hands and my eyes were starting to change to yellow with a glint of fire in them.

I don’t want her to take charge of me; I had to control her, the kids don’t know I’m a werewolf and I don’t want to scare them when they see my wolf form.

I don’t want them traumatized and getting scared of me. Seeing Maya, my wolf would only frighten them.

“You don’t have to be scared, I’m right here.” I sniffed and blinked my eyes to clear the tears.

My wolf withdrew and I was about to draw the curtains open when something whacked against the back of my head.

“Mom!” They cried.

“My babies,” I muttered and tried to reach out to them, even though I couldn’t see them.

“Momma!” They unison, but my body already hits the ground, my hands falling to the side.

With a fluttering gaze, I could see nothing and my sight was blurry.

It couldn’t be real, right?

I was in another nightmare, and I’m not about to lose my babies.

They said there was no word for a mother who lost their child, I was not ready to lose mine.

No, I cannot lose my babies!

Not my triplets!

But then all I could see was darkness and a tear that slide out of the corner of my eyes.
