Chapter 02

“Mrs. Samara...”

“...Samara...?”

The voice sounded distant but yet closed, I flapped my eyes open and I felt excruciating pain at the back of my head and squinted my eyes at the bright light.

“You’re awake, thank goodness. Can you see me?” The woman in uniform asked, she was holding a note and a pen.

I sat up properly, with my back against the bed, and held my head with my free hand.

Damn, it hurts.

“Samara?”

I blinked my eyes and then exhaled, and slowly looked around, I was in a single bed among several others separated from others with the help of white curtains and white walls.

Hospital?

I stared at the IV in my hand and exhaled taking my gaze back to the lady.

Who could have brought me here? The only time I was here was when I had my sons.

“Do you remember what happened, can you tell me? You called last night. That your house was under attack, do you remember?” The lady leaned forward and takes note.

“Oh I’m Detective Claire, this is my ID.”

“I called you last night?” I furrowed my brows at her with a puzzled frown.

I never did.

I never put a call through the cops.

Who could have done that?

Who called them? Because it wasn’t me.

“You said your name was Samara over the phone, ain’t you the one who called?” The detective looked a bit confused as well.

“My babies...” I murmured and cut her off from what she was saying. I gripped her collar and pulled her to me fiercely.

“Where are they? Did you get them? Where are they!” I growled in her face and she shuddered lightly at my deafening growl.

“Calm down, Mrs. Samara.” She tried to soothe me but my wolf wasn’t getting any of that.

“Calm down?!” I shouted at her.

“When we came, there was nobody in the mansion. We found you on the ground, you collapse and the other woman with gray hair was...” she swallowed constantly.

Nanny Yuri.

I pushed her away from me.

“Where is Lex? Where are my children?”

“I’m sorry, Mrs. Samara. We couldn’t find them, so I want you to tell me...” I shoved her away from my side, pulled the IV off my hand, and didn’t care about the blood that came off it was gonna heal soon anyway since my wolf was awakened.

I ran out of the room.

Nanny Yuri.

She must know where they are.

I need to meet her, she needs to tell me what she saw.

“Oh, Doc Mark.” I stopped him.

“Where’s my nanny Yuri?” I queried immediately I saw him strolling towards me.

“I was coming to meet you, Samara, I was worried when you were brought in here. Why are you...?”

“Tell me!” I shouted at him and he flinched.

“Erm,” He itched his neck and steadied his feet. “...She’s in a coma, and we can’t tell if she will live or not. Right now she’s in the ICU but will do our best to keep her.” I pushed him aside and ran to her ward.

I saw Nanny Yuri with the oxygen mask on her face, her face was pale as white. There was no sign of her being alive.

“Nanny Yuri.” I approached the bed.

“You’ve to tell me, who took them, you saw them didn’t you? You’re the only one who could tell me what happened! So wake up!” I screamed and held her hands and was shaking her vigorously.

“Wake up, Yuri. Tell me who took my babies! Wake up!” I shrieked and shoved her, trying to wake her up, I hit her arm and pushed her.

“Tell me!” I cried.

“You’ve to tell me what you saw! You’ve to tell me who took them! Tell me Yuri, who hurt you, who made you this way! Tell me!” I screamed my lungs out, crying as I held onto her.

“Take her away from her!” Mark yelled as the beeping machine began to drop.

I gripped her tightly and wasn’t ready to let go.

“Samara! You shouldn’t do that to a patient!” He scolded me. But I ignored him.

“You can hear me, can’t you Yuri? You’ve to tell me, say something! You can’t just lay here when I’ve no idea where my children are!” Tears streamed off my face and I didn’t attempt to wipe them off. Two nurses grabbed me and dragged me out of the room.

“Charge!” I heard Mark says when I was thrown outside and the door shut against me. I fell to the ground.

“Charge to 100.”

“Pull!”

“Joules, charge.”

“Pull!”

I buried my hands in my face and cried and run my hands through my hair aggressively.

What am I gonna do?

I couldn’t go a day without them neither could they live without me being by their side. I was bawling and I didn’t care about the attention I was getting to myself.

Behaving like I’ve lost it.

Literally, I have.

“...they should know that their father is alive.” I stood up and glanced over at the door. Yuri had said that to me two days ago.

“Their father?” I mouthed.

Nanny Yuri had been with me for a long time she was the human who saved me from committing suicide and promised to be a nanny for my babies when I have them.

I run away from Crimson Pack years ago, the pack where their father is and I came to the human world to forget my past and I went through everything to be successful because of the babies in my womb.

I never wanted them to go through went I suffered as a child even without their father at their side, I was ready to give them my best as a mother.

I started to work at the hospital and this was where I worked as a doctor.

I wiped my eyes and placed my hands over the door.

“...you’ve to survive. That’s the only way I will forgive you.”

I couldn’t sense them last night if they were humans or werewolves. They used a spell, probably dark magic.

And the only way to find out was to go back to Crimson Pack.

I must find their father, he was the only one who could help me.

My father of my babies must know that his children have been kidnapped.

I must find Vlad Hayes.
