Chapter 05

~Samara~

Vlad was an Alpha, now I know why I felt that way about him.

I never knew he was gonna be the Alpha of Crimson Pack and my children never knew their father was an alpha, I had no plan for them to know about it if this hadn’t happened.

To their father was just a one-night stand and nothing more, he never saw me as his mate. Else he would never have treated me the way he did, seven years ago.

“This is impossible!” Vlad ruffled his hair aggressively and paced in front of the couch.

“After seven years, Samara! You’re coming to me that we had babies together. After seven years! I guess you never wanted to tell me about them!” Vlad roared angrily.

“I would never have known that I had children, you were bound to have them kept away from me, if you could have kept them for seven years in secrets, you would have been willing to do that for the rest of your life.” Vlad snarled with spite in his eyes.

“You deprived me of the privilege of knowing my sons!”

“I never knew I was pregnant and what should I have done?!” I flared up, standing up on my feet.

“You were the one who run away!” He glared and stood pacing, with his burning gaze on my face.

“Because you never wanted me! Nobody wanted me. Vlad, I was neglected. Are you gonna act like you do not remember what happened and what you did? What right do you have to blame me for it!” I shouted and I couldn’t hold back the tears that streamed out of my eyes.

“Why are you acting like it was all my fault, if you’d accepted me as your mate none of this would have happened!” I blinked my eyes, it all didn’t matter anymore, It was all in the past.

“Then why did you come back?” His cold voice asked calmly.

I exhaled deeply and dabbed my eyes with my hands.

“My children are gone.” I bite my lower lips until it was able to draw out some blood, that I couldn’t do anything that hurts me. I heard their voices when they were being taken away but I was not able to do anything.

They are innocent, they don’t deserve to be in any uncomfortable place at all and with strangers.

I don’t know if they were fine or if something had happened.

I’m so scared for my babies.

“What do you mean gone?” Vlad glowered and took a long stride toward me. He probably hasn’t been listening to what I’ve been telling him.

“They are kidnapped, I thought they were gonna call for ransom like most kidnappers do but they didn’t but that wasn’t it. I couldn’t sense the people who came to my house and attacked me. I couldn’t tell if they were humans or werewolves and...” I was rasping on and on and Vlad furrowed his brows at me.

“Calm down and tell me what happened.”

I swept my hair off my face.

“I woke up quite early, I think I was being stalked. They knew the exact time I woke up and that day, I woke up earlier than my usual time and I heard my nanny scream...” and I went on and explained everything that happened to him.

“...and my nanny who could have helped me was in a coma and there’s a slight chance of her recovering.” I stared down at my hands when I was done talking.

“Then you remembered the father of the kids, isn’t that it, Samara?” Vlad questioned with his eyes fixed on me, his voice lowered and he was staring at me keenly.

I took my lips in. “Yes.”

“I don’t care about anything else, just help me find my children, help me find them. Alpha Vlad.”

“Just call me Vlad.” He smirked and went back to take his seat I nodded and held my handbag to myself.

“If you couldn’t sense them, probably they used black magic, Xylan would find everything he can on anyone who practices black magic in the pack. We might get a lead from there.” He said quietly, staring at the photo of the triplet, I saw a tainted smile on his lips and it faded immediately he caught me staring at him.

“I’ll help you find them.”

He tossed my phone over to me.

“Xylan would show you to the guest room or if you have somewhere else you want to stay, you can leave now.”

He stood up and went the other way, leaving me and Xylan in the living room.

I glanced around the big mansion, wondering if he was the only one who lived there.

“I’m sorry about what happened to your children, and Vlad is erm...once you start living together you’ll get to understand him more,” Xylan muttered and moved closer to me.

“I don’t have any intentions of living with him,” I started and stuffed my phone into my bag, and zipped them.

“I’m leaving.”

“What?” Xylan jumped up from the chair.

“It’s late, Samara. You can’t just leave, where would you go?” Xylan stopped me with a hand holding my shoulders.

“I can find a hotel and stay for the night.” I shrugged my shoulders so his hands could come off.

“And then what?” He planted his hands on his hips.

“Find an apartment afterward. I’ll find an estate agent for an apartment, I’ll get one in two days.” I replied with my croaked voice.

“The pack isn’t as it was seven years ago and you do not want to drag attention to yourself. You should stay here for the meanwhile than everyone finding out you’re in the pack even before we find your children.” He told me standing in front of me.

“Vlad won’t mind you staying here, and this is the best place for you to stay, Samara. If you need a house, you can’t get one without meeting Vlad.” He pointed to the direction Vlad had disappeared into.

“He’s a CEO of the estate management in the pack and has branches on other packs as well.” He whispered to my ears with a slight chuckle.

“I’ll get your luggage from the car. Seat and wait.”

Xylan scurried out of my sight and I slumped down on the couch with my hands clasped over my head.

I was tired and I never planned for any of this to happen. I don’t want anyone to recognize me in the pack, that I was back here again.

I want to keep it a secret if I must.

“Come with me.” Xylan's voice jolted me out of my thoughts, I grabbed my handbag and followed him upstairs.

We stopped in front of a door Xylan unlocked them and lead me into the room.

He turned on the light.

“You should rest for the night.” He dropped my bags beside me. I nodded at him, I wanted to thank him but decided against him.

“Goodnight, Samara.”

I half smiled at him and he turned and walked away, shutting the door behind him.

I sat down on the luxurious bed, the room was painted white and neatly decorated. Taking off my shoes, I lay on the bed and closed my eyes, and drifted off to sleep.

I woke up with a soft knock on the door, I flapped my eyes open to the bright light that was coming from the window.

“Come downstairs for breakfast.” I heard Vlad toneless from the door. I rubbed my eyes wearily and stood up from the bed, I combed my hair with my fingers and walked into the bathroom to wash my face.

I looked so pale in just a few days.

I splash the water over them and sighed, wiped my face with the hand towel, and strolled out of the bathroom. I opened the door and saw Vlad leaning causally over the wall with his hands folded.

He stared at me and twitched his face.

“You didn’t eat last night, you must be very hungry.”

I rolled my lazy eyes at him.

“I’m not hungry.” My stomach growls even before I could complete the words.

It sure has a habit of embarrassing someone.

“Is that so?” He knitted his brows and chuckled softly, he stepped closer, and my back hits the door. He brought his head lower to my face and stared intently at me, his eyes leaving my face down to my lips.

Then he placed a hand over my head and trapped me in front of me.

I swallowed.

“What—“ I mouthed and looked up at him from my lashes. His hands sneak around me and grip my waist and pulled me close to him.

My body pressed against his slightly, my eyes widened and a gasp escaped my mouth.

What the hell was he doing to me?

His lips brush the side of my cheeks and then he down to my ears.

“I will never fall for you, Samara.”

“Never, so do not test me.” He pulled away from me and pretended as if nothing ever happened with a scowl on his face.

What an asshole!

Then I looked over at my dress, and two buttons were undone and my cleavages were exposed to him.

“I’m so stupid!”
