Wedding day
The wedding day arrived. Sarah had been preening since the morning. The beautiful wedding dress she bought from her favorite boutique made her look beautiful. The white color with silver beads and a little ribbon accent in one corner made her look like a fairytale princess.
The same goes for Ryan. A black velvet tuxedo with a bow tie made him look like a prince. It was a perfect match with Sarah.
Ryan and Sarah's marriage did not fully receive the blessing of their parents. But they chose to come with a sense of responsibility as parents.
The wedding procession went smoothly, and Ryan very smoothly said his vows to Sarah. How happy Sarah was! From behind the connecting door, she smiled while holding a bouquet of flowers.
"Sarah, the wedding procession is over. You go outside immediately for the family event," Evelyn said with a stern tone and a scary face that she showed.
"Miss Evelyn, why does there have to be a procession like that anyway? This isn't an event to humiliate me, is it?" Sarah argued. She did not want the procession to be carried out, especially when it was done in front of many people. Sarah thought badly; is it possible that the Steward family will humiliate her?
"So what, when Lily married my brother, there was an event like this too?" There's no need to act so much," Evelyn snapped.
"I don't want to. I'll tell Ryan."
Determined, Sarah ran out of the dressing room to the bridal aisle. Sarah rudely opened the door to the room and then ran back to where her husband stood after making his vows. Ryan widened his eyes, shocked by what Sarah had done.
"Why did you run away?" Ryan asked. Sarah rushed into her husband's arms and began to play her part. She cried so hard that the witnesses were confused.
"Sarah, why did you leave the room before the signal came from inside?" asked Evelyn, her breathing still labored from chasing Sarah. Ryan looked between his wife and sister in turn.
"What's wrong with this, sis?" Ryan now asked. Evelyn was about to open her mouth, but Sarah answered first. "Ryan, Evelyn said I'm not like Lily. I'm not a good daughter-in-law. I'm sad, Ryan. That's why I ran from the room to see you."
Evelyn widened her eyes. Her hand waved in rejection. She cursed inwardly and felt like avenging the cruel slander from Sarah, who was now wearing a smirk from behind Ryan's embrace.
Hearing his wife being hurt, of course, made Ryan furious. He had given in to his family's treatment of Sarah, but why did it continue to happen until they had officially become husband and wife?
"Evelyn, enough of our fight last week. You may not like her, but please don't make her feel bad and broken because of what you said. I've given in; what more do you want?" Ryan explained at length. He hugged Sarah again. Witnessed by many invited witnesses, the family quarrel continued. Now, Ellyah has also joined in on their dispute.
"You accuse your older sister? Why don't you ask her first and listen to your wife more? Your sister, who has accompanied you since you were little, and your wife, who has only known you for 3 years? "That's amazing," said Ellery. His eyes glanced at Sarah, who was still peeking out from behind Ryan's arms. She didn't dare look back into her mother-in-law's eyes. Scary, he thought.
"Mom, don't drop Sarah so deep. She's a good woman. Mommy flattered Lily too much to close her eyes about Sarah," Ryan protested.
Suddenly, the steward came. His intention was to calm the almost widespread quarrels between mother and son. The steward pulls Ellyah and Evelyn's arms away from the wedding hall.
"Come on, let's go home. It's free to argue with stupid and blind people," the steward quipped. But before Ellyah left the room, she looked back at her son and daughter-in-law and said something that made the whole room roar. "For God's sake, because you have slandered my son, and as his mother, I am not willing. I swear to you both that one day you will be on your knees in front of your sister. Keep that in mind!
Ellyah left with a deep wound in her heart. She wept bitterly in her husband's arms as she walked away from the wedding hall. Evelyn stared for a while, then went with her parents, while her husband and son followed from behind.
The witnesses began to discuss family matters. They blame the Steward family, and some blame Sarah as his new daughter-in-law.
Scott, stand behind Ryan. He patted his cousin's shoulder and whispered something in Ryan's ear. "Actually, your mother and sister want to hold a family event to ask for blessings. But your wife refused and even slandered them. Quickly apologize. Your mother's heart is hurt."
Scott left the room. He took off the black coat he was wearing. Ryan and Sarah were now in the room with invited guests. Sarah looked at her husband's suddenly pale and silent face for a long time, then she shook her body.
"Honey, don't be silent. The show is about to begin," he whined. Ryan smiled awkwardly and then nodded, following his wife's wishes. His heart was still broken by the fight. How do you apologize to your mom and sister?
Meanwhile, outside the building, Scott saw a beautiful scene that caught his attention. There was someone who came, wearing a beautiful dress and a sparkling face, walking towards the wedding hall. A face that he really wants to look at every day, if possible.
Scott walked up to her and said," Hey, Lily. How are you? You came too?"
Anyone who looks up He smiled and replied," Hey, Scott. I've come by invitation. Has the party started?"
Scott nodded. His gaze was fixed on the one man behind him, who walked up to Lily and then stood side by side. Like a couple of lovers. Scott, jealous.
"Lily, do you want to go straight in or are you going to have a chat first?" asked Bagas while glancing at Scott and Lily alternately.
"Ee..."
"You better go home. I'm sorry to give you an invitation letter. Ryan is not what he used to be; he has even thrown his family away for the woman he is married to now," Scott explained. Lily and Steve looked at each other and frowned.
"This is serious?" asked Lily. Scott nodded. His hand flipped Lily's shoulder and invited her to walk away from the building. Steve followed him from behind. "Why is that? Doesn't Ryan love his mom?"
"That was then. To treat your disappointment, how about this afternoon? I invite you to eat together. You still like shabu-shabu, right?" He asked Lily, who was asked to nod.
"Yes. You want a treat for me?"
"Of course. How's it going, Steve?" Scott asked the man next to Lily
"Can. Let's go to Lily's place," he offered.
"Ok. I go first, you follow."
Arriving at the desired place, they immediately ordered the best food from the restaurant. Resto memories between Ryan and Lily from when they first ate together one year ago. Lily looked around, smiled, and lowered her head. He took a deep breath, trying to let go of his anxiety.
"You want me to order a bento?" asked Steve. Lily shook her head. He was enjoying the food that was in front of him. Vegetables and meat are dipped in hot broth, making it sparkle.
"I want to eat hotpot."
"You still manage your boutique, right? I plan to go there," Abi asked, opening the chat. Lily nodded, her mouth still full of food. Scott smiled at the sight. It's so funny.
"Still. When are you going there?" asked Lily.
"Next week. My girlfriend is going to an event, and I'm being asked to find the best boutique. I recommend your boutique."
"Beloved?"
"Uhm, I don't know."
While eating, Scott was suddenly startled by the sound of a ringing phone that he put next to him. He stood up, left the table, and answered outside the room. After ten minutes, he came back with a worried look.
"Why, Scott?" asked Lily.
"I have to go home. My mom needs help. Thanks for the chat. I paid for the food. Excuse me."
"Be careful; say hello to your mother."
Scott went home. Lily waved her hand until the figure came out of the restaurant area. He went back to eat, finished his meal, and went home with Steve. Luckily, her heart was saved today by Scott.
'At least, today I'm not hurt.'
