Chapter 12
Agatha's POV
I sat in the hotel room with Amelia and Alden, but was lost in thought. It's been five days now and Addison hasn't called me, neither is he taking my calls.
“Babe? Are you okay?” Amelia asked after she studied my actions for a while.
“I don't think so, Amelia.”
She got up from the chair and sat on the bed where I was seated.
“What's wrong?”
“It's Addison, he hasn't called me since the incident and isn't taking my calls either.”
“Hmm.” She hummed and winked at me.
“What's that for?” I rolled my eyes.
“You told me you're not in love with him, but here you are, all worked up because of him.” She shrieked softly.
“Who told you I'm worked up because of him? I'm stressed because of us. We already agreed that he would be paying me for being his mate, and I was thinking we would be able to make a living with that. Above all, get to hide from the killer.”
“You worried yourself too much, Agatha.” She said after a huff. “I'm certain we would make a living for ourselves. I've been considering taking a job, so I can't assist you.”
“No, Amelia. You can't do that. Who would stay with Alden? He's still too young to protect himself, please.”
“But take a look at you, you're stressed and worn out. Your boss even made you do extra hours and today being your rest day, you can't even relax.”
“It's nothing, babe. We'll get through it.”
“Okay, no problem.” She said and hugged me.
Alpha Alston's POV.
It's been four years now since I've asked Addison to find his mate, but he would rather stick with his girlfriend, Alison, and this infuriated me more.
But I just got good news from Achan - he told me Addison had found his mate. I grabbed my phone and dialed his number.
“Hey, dad. How ate you doing?” He asked immediately he picked the call.
“I guess I'll be better if you see me in person and explain things to me.” I said in a hushed and lively tone.
“What do you mean by that, dad?”
“Your mate…. When do you intend to tell me about her?” A snigger appeared on my lips.
“How did you find out about her?”
“Your Uncle told me about her. I need you to meet me in the mansion, we have a lot to talk about.”
“Okay, dad. I'll see you soon.” He said, and I ended the call.
A sigh of relief escaped from my lip.
At alas, I can die in peace and know that he would be in safe hands.
After some hours, I heard a car honk I'm the compound and when I looked down from the corridor, it was Addison's car, but to my greatest surprise, he came with Alison.
I watched with intense rage as he pulled out the door for her, and they walked side by side.
“It should be his mate, not this blood sucking werewolf.” I cussed in a hushed, yet, enraged tone.
“Good evening, dad. How are you faring this evening?” He greeted as they approached me and sat opposite me.
“It would have been better if you came alone.” I spat and looked away from Alison.
“I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused you, but Addison insisted I come with him.”
“And you could have refused......” I snapped. “Or better still, stay away from him.”
“Dad!” He growled as her distorted gaze fell on the floor.
“I didn't bring her here for you to insult her, dad.”
“Maybe you should have never brought her here. This isn't supposed to be the conversation we should be having, she's just nothing but a confusion in this family.”
He gritted his teeth and his fangs elongated as he stared at me.
“She's the one I love, and I will only get married to her.”
“Not while I'm alive.”
“You, of course, would be dead then. And I'll rule this pack together with her.”
My eyes glimmered – it was the first time he would raise his voice at me, all because of this blood sucking wolf.
“She is not what the Pack needs. The Moon Goddess has a reason for giving you a mate, and I believe that you both would lead this pack into harmony.”
“Harmony? Is that what this is about? Alison, here, gives me peace and joy......” His grip on her hand tightened. “And I'm sure she can give that to the Pack as well. I don't need to be with a mate to prove that to you.”
“Are you saying the Moon Goddess made a mistake? Is that what you're saying?” I growled and thudded my fist on the small table in front of me.
“No, dad. I'm just saying, potentially sometimes, we should own up to our decisions rather than letting someone decide for us. Alison is the one I love, and I'll make her my Luna.”
He uttered briskly and stood up with here.
“We'll take her leave now.” He concluded, and they headed toward the door.
“Alison!” I called out and they altered their next steps.
“Stay away from him, or I'll make you.” I threatened without sparing them a glance.
Addison's POV.
I walked Alison back to the car, and we got into the car.
“I'm sorry for everything that happened, I thought I could make him see reasons to like you rather than force my mate on me.”
“It's fine, Addison.” She shrugged her shoulders. “In life, some things are not just meant to be.”
She fastened her seat belt and I took her hands in mine while staring deep into her beautiful green eyes.
“Not like our love, babe. We'll last forever and stand the test of time.” She smiled.
I'm glad my words could make her smile and give her more hope not to give up on our love.
I ignited the car into motion and drove out of the mansion.
“So, what's going to happen with your mate?” She looked at me while driving and our eyes locked.
“I don't know.....” I shrugged. “Maybe she would have to accept her fate and move on.”
