Chapter 20

Agatha's Point of View

Amelia strode forward, her eyes blazing with

determination. "I will not let you harm them," she declared, her voice filled with unwavering resolve.

Uncle Achan's face contorted with rage as he lunged towards me and Alden instead, a glint of baleful intent in his eyes. But before he could get to us, Amelia swiftly interposed herself between us, her body acting as a shield against the impending danger.

My heart pounded in my chest as I watched the tense standoff unfold before my eyes. I couldn't bear the thought of losing Amelia, the one person who had always been there for me. I had to do something.

"Stay behind me, Agatha," Amelia whispered, her voice brimming with strength disguised as reassurance.

I nodded, my hands trembling slightly. "I won't let him hurt us, Amelia. We'll fight together."

Amelia shot her a nod, a flicker of determination igniting in her eyes. "Let's do this."

Uncle Achan lunged towards us with a knife glinting ominously in his grasp. With lightning reflexes, Amelia deflected his attack, skillfully blocking his every move. The clash of weapons reverberated through the air, each strike attesting to the fierce battle being waged.

Emotions ran high as I stood there, helpless yet determined. Fear mingled with adrenaline, and my heart was torn between terror and renewed hope.

Together, Amelia and I fought against Uncle Achan, making our bond unbreakable.

I refused to be a pawn in Uncle Achan's game any longer. My voice, once hesitant, now rang out with conviction as I screamed, "Enough, Uncle Achan! Your reign of terror ends here."

Uncle Achan's face contorted with rage, his eyes burning with a monstrous fury. It was a battle of wills, a clash of light and dark. But in that moment, as I stared into the face of evil, I realized that I possessed a power much greater than I ever imagined—the power of love, courage, and unwavering determination.

"Take Alden home, Amelia. Uncle Achan and I have some unclosed business," I said, staring into his eyes.

As Amelia tried to take Alden, Uncle Achan seized that as an opportunity and sprinted away.

"I would have killed you," I said, muttering to myself as I made my way to Alden and Amelia.

"Let's go back to the hotel," I said to them with a smile.

Addison's Point of View

I just got over the phone with Agatha, and she confirmed that she had gotten her brother back.

"You could have let me come with you; going there alone was too dangerous," I said, my voice as alarmed as mine.

"It's fine; we will talk later." She said that and ended the call.

A sigh of relief escaped my lips, though I was enraged.

As Uncle Achan stormed into the house, my anger burned like a raging fire within me. Uncle Achan had crossed a line that I never thought he would dare to cross. How could he have kidnapped Alden? The audacity of his actions left me seething with fury.

He slammed the front door shut, the force of it echoing through the house. My heart pounded in my chest as he made his way towards the living room, where I sat nonchalantly on the couch, a smirk playing on his lips. I could feel my blood boiling as I confronted him.

"What the hell do you think you're doing, Uncle?" I spat, my voice laced with venom. "How could you kidnap Alden? Agatha was devastated!"

Uncle Achan's eyes flickered with amusement as he looked up at me. "Oh, Addison, my boy," he drawled, his voice dripping with false innocence. "You always were too soft. Agatha will get over it. Besides, I have my reasons."

I clenched my fists, struggling to control the rage that threatened to consume me. "Reasons? What reasons could possibly justify this? You've betrayed us all!"

He chuckled, a sound that grated on my nerves. "Betrayal, you say? I prefer to think of it as a necessary sacrifice for the greater good."

I scoffed, unable to comprehend his twisted logic. "The greater good? You've lost your mind, Uncle! Agatha's happiness is not something to be sacrificed for your delusions."

Uncle Achan's smirk widened, his eyes glinting with malice. "You've always been blind, Addison. We are blind to the truth of our world and the power that lies within our grasp. I'm merely doing what needs to be done to protect our kind."

I took a step closer, my voice trembling with anger. "Protect our kind? This is about power and control, not protection! You've become a monster, Uncle!"

He stood up, towering over me with a menacing presence. "Watch your tongue, boy. You may be my nephew, but I won't hesitate to put you in your place."

I refused to back down, my determination fueling my words. "I won't let you get away with this. Agatha deserves better, and I won't rest until I assure that."

Uncle Achan's eyes narrowed, his tone dripping with venom. "You think you can defy me? You're nothing but a naive pup, Addison. You have no idea what you're up against."

I gritted my teeth, my fists trembling with the urge to strike him. "I may be young, but I'm not alone. I will fight for what's right, no matter the cost."

Uncle Achan's laughter filled the room, mocking and cruel. "We shall see, Addison. We shall see." He said that, and I walked out on him.

Later that evening, the moon hung high in the night sky, casting an eerie glow over the dense forest surrounding the house. The air was thick with tension as I sat in the dimly lit living room, my heart pounding in my chest. Uncle Achan, a formidable figure with a grizzled beard and piercing eyes, stood before me, his voice dripping with venom.

"I've had enough of your father's treachery, Addison," he growled, his voice laced with anger. "And I won't rest until Agatha and Alden pay for his sins."
