Amelia's point of view
A month had passed since that fateful night, and my life had taken an unexpected turn. I found myself standing in a dimly lit hotel room, my heart pounding in my chest. The weight of my secret threatened to crush me, leaving me feeling lost and confused.
I stared at the pregnancy test in my hand, the positive result mocking me. How did I let this happen? I never thought I would find myself in this situation. Panic coursed through my veins as I realized the enormity of the decision I had to make.
I paced back and forth, my mind racing with thoughts and emotions. I couldn't keep this from Addison any longer. He deserved to know the truth, no matter how much guilt and shame I felt for betraying him or Agatha. I had to find a way to reach out to him and explain everything.
I remembered the letter I had received from the club owner where I used to work. It contained Addison's contact information, but I hadn't bothered to reach out to him. Guilt had consumed me, and I couldn't bear the thought of facing him after what I had done.
But now, I had no choice. I had to tell him. I had to let him know that I was carrying his baby. With trembling hands, I stole Addison's number from Agatha's phone. I knew it was wrong, but desperation clouded my judgment. I had to take this leap of faith.
With a deep breath, I typed a text message, pouring my heart out in words. "Addison, it's Amelia. I don't know how to say this, but I'm carrying your baby."
As I hit send, my heart raced even faster. The seconds stretched into eternity as I waited for a response. The room felt suffocating, and the silence was deafening. I couldn't bear the weight of the unknown any longer.
Finally, my phone buzzed, and I hastily grabbed it, my hands trembling. Addison had replied. "Amelia? Are you serious? How is this possible?"
Tears welled up in my eyes as I read his response. I could feel the mixture of confusion and shock in his words. How could I explain everything to him? How could I make him understand?
"I know it's hard to believe, but it's true. The masked stripper you had sex with twice about a month ago was me, Amelia. I never meant for any of this to happen. I'm so sorry."
The room seemed to spin around me as I sank onto the edge of the bed. The weight of my confession was crushing, and I couldn't hold back the tears any longer. The reality of my actions and the consequences they carried hit me like a tidal wave.
Addison's reply came swiftly, filled with a mix of anger and disbelief. "Amelia, how could you? You're Agatha's sister! How could you betray her like this?"
His words cut deep, and I couldn't find the strength to defend myself. I had no excuses or justifications. All I had was the truth and the overwhelming guilt that consumed me.
"I know I've made a terrible mistake, Addison. I never intended for any of this to happen. I'm so sorry for betraying Agatha and for betraying you. I don't know what to do."
Silence hung heavy in the air as I waited for his response. The seconds turned into minutes, and I feared that he would never forgive me. The weight of my actions threatened to crush me completely.
Finally, his reply came, filled with a mix of anger, confusion, and a hint of concern. "Amelia, we need to talk. Meet me at the park tomorrow at sunset. We have a lot to discuss."
Relief washed over me, knowing that he was willing to hear me out. I wiped away my tears, determined to face the consequences of my actions. I had to find a way to make things right, for the sake of our child and for the fragile bond between Addison and Agatha.
As I lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, I couldn't help but wonder how my life had taken such a complicated turn. The road ahead was uncertain, but I knew I had to face it head-on. I had to find a way to navigate through the chaos and find redemption, not just for myself but for everyone involved.
And so, with a heavy heart and a glimmer of hope, I drifted off to sleep, knowing that tomorrow would bring a new chapter in my life, one filled with challenges, forgiveness, and the possibility of a brighter future.
The next day, after Agatha had left for work, I sat on the edge of the bed in our dimly lit hotel room, my heart pounding in my chest. The weight of my secret threatened to suffocate me, and I knew I had to find a way to clear my head. Agatha deserves the truth, but I couldn't bring myself to face her. Not yet.
I took a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves, and picked up my phone. With trembling fingers, I dialed Agatha's number. After a few rings, she answered, her voice filled with warmth and concern.
"Amelia, is everything okay?" she asked, her tone laced with worry.
I swallowed hard, my throat dry. "Agatha, I need to talk to you," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "I'm going to see Alden. He's studying in a nearby pack, and I think I need some time away. Maybe up to a week."
There was a brief pause on the other end of the line, and I could almost hear Agatha's confusion. "But why, Amelia? Is something wrong? You can talk to me, you know."
Tears welled up in my eyes as I struggled to find the right words. "It's complicated, Agatha. I just need some space to sort things out. Please understand."
Agatha sighed, her voice filled with concern. "Alright, Amelia. If that's what you need, then I won't stop you. Just promise me you'll take care of yourself and keep in touch."
"I promise," I replied, my voice cracking with emotion. "Thank you, Agatha. I love you."
"I love you too, Amelia," she said softly before hanging up.
I let out a shaky breath and placed my phone on the nightstand. Guilt washed over me, knowing that I had just lied to the person I trusted the most. But I couldn't bear to burden her with the truth, not when she was already dealing with her own problems.
