Chapter 1 Unexpected Mating Bond

CHAPTER ONE

ALLISON POV

I woke to the sound of Aurora shouting and her rampage carrying on. Her shouting removed the sleep from my eyes, causing me to wake up and get ready for my activities.

I have many business partners I am meeting today, and I didn't want to keep them waiting.

I was just about to get dressed when Aurora stormed in, looking at me all dressed. "You are still not ready. You are supposed to drop me off," she mumbled.

"Drop you where?" I questioned, as I had no idea what she was talking about. "Today's the mating ritual, and you are supposed to go and get paired," she replied.

"Did you forget about that too?" She questioned, folding her hands. "I don't know, Aurora. It's not like I did forget. It just felt pointless," I replied.

"So you will miss this match too, like the rest?" She asked. "Do you plan on ever settling down?" She questioned further.

"Yes, when I am away from here, at least a guy will get to look at me without comparing my beauty to my sister," I thought but looked at her calmly before creating another lie.

"The moon goddess shouldn't be in charge of pairing. Shouldhe should let people meet and fall in love,". I continue, watching her roll her eyes.

"Come on, sis. It would be best if you weren't talking about that trash. She pairs everyone right, pairs an arrogant with a calm person so he could work on his anger," she began explaining.

"And for me, I know she paired me with the king because who else is a better fit in terms of character and beauty if not for my king," she boasted.

"We plan on making our relationship after the mating ritual because it would be a perfect time to announce that we are dating," she said.

"And we have our wedding the following month. I get crowned as queen, the position perfect enough for a beauty like me," she proudly said.

"I wonder what would have happened if they were not mates, oh her disappointment, and I know the King won't know how lucky he was not getting married to her," I thought, looking at my sister, who was waiting for my response.

"You forgot to add the point where you give birth to him," I teased. Aurora never mentioned the idea of pregnancy as she didn't want anything to ruin her body.

"Mother, Allison is teasing me," she yelled. "Allison, be gentle on your sister. She is the reason you are living a fancy life," our mother shouted back.

Her words hurt me. It was true, but it was never confirmed. I maintain the family wealth by going into business and bargaining with my partner. I am the one bringing me money.

I'm beautiful too, not as angelic as her, but I am beautiful; they never acknowledge that. "Yes, and if not for her beauty added to the business, we would not have been wealthy," I sarcastically yelled.

"Nathan, Allison talking back to me, "Our mother reported, and I knew it would be him coming to my room.

"You better stop it now," I warned Aurora. "Why would? You always argue that you bring more money. I don't mind you punishing me," she mocked.

"I'm the only one that can carry you to the king's Palace, except you don't want me to take you. You better stop," I threatened.

"Daddy, don't bother coming. We were just playing a game," she yelled. "Are you sure, honey?" Our father asked as Aurora looked at me.

"Go on, answer, "I mumbled. "Yes, Father, Allison is so gentle to me," she scoffed.

"That's better," I muttered. "Now, wait in the living room. I will come after I get dressed," I said as she nodded, leaving.

I hated them, I really did, and that is why, for the past few days, I have been buying my own house outside the city. I wanted to move, move to a place no one could find me.

Today, I will check on the finishing and then the new Identity I created there.

Soon, I will be able to leave this place, and they will see, and they will see how important I was in this family and how it was always me who stabilized us.

Packing my document, I finally headed out as Aurora followed me, entering the back seat.

"What happened to the front?" I asked. "It gives people the room to see my beauty free of charge. I don't want that," she snapped as I signed, looking at the narcissist's being that came as my sister.

"Besides, being the future queen, I'm just practicing for where I would see myself sitting in the car," she continued.

I drove to the palace, where surprisingly, the King was waiting outside for her.

He helped her out and went ahead kissing her. My inner wolf became restless, and it couldn't be that I had found a mate because it was still thirty minutes before the ritual.

It could just be that she was irritated by their act. With this concluding thought, I drove up, past the city to fight, dropped off some of my clothes in my new house, and returned to attend the sequences of meetings that cage me.

By evening I was exhausted as I returned home, trying not to sleep when driving. "I'm home," I called but found Aurora's red eyes staring at me.

"Allison," she says, coming to hug me. "Aurora, why are you crying?" I asked, seeing how seriously red her eyes were.

"We weren't mated, Alli; he wasn't my mate," she burst out crying with my mom coming out.

"Allison, did you beat your sister again? How often do I warn you her face is not meant for crying? You shouldn't hurt your younger sister," our mom scolded.

"I just came in. If you can't see that already, besides, she was already crying. How is it possible I made her eyes that red in less than how many minutes," I defended, rolling my eyes.

"Is it true dear?" She asked, coming to hug Aurora. "Mommy, we were not mated," Aurora repeated, crying.

"Oh baby, how? What happened?" She asked. "I don't know, Mommy, it wasn't supposed to be like that," she muttered.

"I arrived at his palace thirty minutes before the mating hour," she explained.

"Thirty minutes, why thirty minutes? Don't you know it would badly affect the results," our mother said.

"Why didn't you take your sister earlier than that?" Mother accused.

"Mother, the timing doesn't affect us. We are matched from the moment we are born," I corrected.

"What do you know about that stuff? You never believe in it anyway, and you are twenty-two, and not once did you ever attend the mating ritual," Mother directed at me.

"You always bury yourself in your work. Do you want to end up mate less," she yelled. "How is my matter related to Aurora not being mated to her precious king," I questioned, and soon enough, my father slapped me.

"Is that how you want to talk to your mother? I won't accept it under this roof," he yelled.

"Of course you won't, I was the one who bothered in trying to console this narcissistic sister I have, and it was my mistake. I came home tired, alright? Please let me rest and leave me out of your dramas," I yelled, walking out.

As I dressed, I could still hear her cry and then sobbing. After the shower, I found Aurora sitting on my bed.

"Can I stay with you tonight?" She questioned. "I don't know, Aurora. I don't want to get hit by them," I replied.

"I'm sorry," she mumbled. "Are you sorry? You could have stopped them, but you let it happen, believe it or not, you enjoyed the show our parents gave you just now," I said.

"It's not like that, sister," she muttered. "I'm devastated. Please be reasonable, and I just missed spending the rest of my life with the love of my life. I don't want any shady games," she snaps.

"Aurora, let me ask you one question, do you really love the king, or do you only want what his power and position can give you," I questioned.

"Why would you ask that?" She questioned. "Because whenever you talk about him, you only talk about the things we showcase to you, his power, his wealth. For real, do you know anything about this man, what he likes and does? You, you have been around him for years, yet you don't even know what killed his parents," I yelled.

"He doesn't like to talk about it," she defended. "He talks about it every time at their memorial, and I'm sure you don't remember why because you are self-centered," I said.

"How could you?" She asked. "I'm coming to you to help me with my pain, and you open the injury," she says, her eyes tearing up.

"I hate coming to you. I regret having you as my sister. Do you know how it feels not having a sister who is not beautiful," she questioned, slapping me directly with her insulting words.

"And just when I thought you had some use in my life, you insulted me. I hate you. I hope you never find your mate," she yelled, standing up and leaving.

Gosh, she is unbearable, and it made me ask if I was too far with my words on her. I decided to go after her to apologize for my actions.

"Aurora, Aurora, let's talk," I called as I left the house. "Aurora, come now. I'm sorry. I will listen to you from now on," I beg, scanning around as I head to the garden.

I'm not too fond of the night, and I hate stepping out at night. It was a scary thing, something I had feared till now.

I found out she was out in the garden, and when I went outside, I met the King out there talking to her.

She was hugging him and crying as she talked. This made my inner wolf feel more restless as it began affecting me. It was twice as wild as this morning as she started scratching her barrier, circling the circle she was in.

"Mate, mate, mate," my inner wolf screamed when I locked her with the King. "Oh no," I mumbled as we both realized what had happened.

No doubt I mated with him, and he did not feel that my mate was the king, my sister's love interest. How could this happen to me? Why was I mated to him?
