Chapter 2

With his large size and long legs, Werren can run three times faster than most normal-sized werewolves. Ten minutes had passed, almost a third of the way, and Werren reached the Eglo Forest. The rocky, up-and-down road did not stop Werren from running and jumping to avoid sharp boulders without leaving a single scratch.

In the middle of the forest, twenty rogues blocked Werren's path. The gray wolf's golden eyes seemed to intimidate anyone who saw them. As if unafraid of death, several of the rogues barked to challenge the relentless Beta Eclipse pack. Daniel returned in human form, followed by one of the largest rogues, who was none other than the leader of the pack.

"What do you want?" asked Daniel flatly, but with intimidating pressure in every sentence.

"We want your life," the rogue leader replied with a vicious smile on his face, followed by a growl from another rogue standing behind him.

"Go home, I don't want to hurt you," Daniel replied, still so relaxed in the face of the impatient rogues.

"Going home? The place to go home is hell. It wouldn't be like this if the big packs didn't attack our little packs so cowardly," one of the rogues shouted unexpectedly.

Daniel raised an eyebrow. If you want to know, in Daniel's mind, Werren is whimpering and begging to be set free to tear the rogue before him and swallow him alive. After a while, Daniel could smell the thick werewolf scent coming from the few rogues in front of him. The smell of defeat. Now Daniel was right. The member of the Carlot Pack, whose Alpha died under the claws of the Beta Eclipse Pack, seeks revenge with the help of the rogue. A plan of vengeance in vain, for their opponent was no ordinary werewolf. A crooked smile appeared on Daniel's handsome face.

"Just a few days after your pack was destroyed, you immediately joined the despicable rogue? Tsk tsk tsk, poor thing," Daniel shook his head, then tilted his head and heard the sound of bone cracking loud enough to keep the crooked smile on his face.

"Bastard."

Immediately, the rogue troupe lunged at Daniel. But before the rogue could touch him, Daniel had jumped first, quickly swapping shifts with Werren in the air, and when the gray wolf's feet landed on the ground, a head was already in his muzzle.

No mercy for you all. I will be your reaper. Werren said after tossing the villain's head into his mouth, satisfied with the bloodlust of killing. Who is next?' A vicious grin appeared on the gray wolf's face. The three rogues were about to pounce on Werren, but Werren's front paws swept across the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust that instantly obscured the two rogues, who immediately howled as they tried to clear the dirt from their eyes. Meanwhile, one of the rogues that had escaped ended up with a long claw on his back and neck, gaping right in his airway, and another rogue lunged at him with outstretched claws, but Werren managed to dodge, then blocked the rogue's movement, immediately sinking his sharp white fangs deep into his opponent's neck. Caught off guard, a rogue managed to leap and claw at Werren's back as he stood on the Beta's massive body. Furiously, Werren ripped open the rogue's stomach, pulling out the source of the internal organs caught in its sharp claws.

Five rogues surrounded him again, three in front and two behind. Werren growled in rage. This time Werren struck first. One blow managed to throw a rogue in front of him hard against a tree. Another rogue was about to attack from behind. Werren threw a kick from his back foot that struck the rogue in the face, scratching the inside of his eye. Another howl of pain woke the demon that seemed to have possessed the gray wolf. Werren leapt to his feet and bit the remaining rogue on the neck, pulling upward with the terrible sound of a broken collarbone. The largest wolf of all the villains Werren faced howled. A dirty looking reddish-brown wolf with crusty yellow fangs and disgusting saliva. Once again the wolf barked with a fierce glare. Werren was not the least bit intimidated. The golden irises seemed even more intimidating when the red irises of his opponent's eyes met theirs. The brown wolf lunged forward, claws outstretched, ready to scratch Werren's neck, but once again the gray wolf was able to dodge. Werren was not only strong, but also very agile and sensitive. With quick respect, Werren pounced and bit the brown wolf's neck. It wasn't enough that Werren tore the brown wolf's skin mercilessly.

Their fight was unequal. Even though Werren had killed several rogues, he still had enough energy to finish off dozens of other rogues. Werren's left shoulder was bitten, fresh blood flowing again because of the depth of the bite the brown wolf gave as a form of resistance.

Werren growled, then clawed at the brown wolf's head to free his fangs, which were still deep enough. Resistance is not easy. Occasionally they rolled on the ground, scratching and slashing at each other as they growled and hissed. Werren's sharp claws dug right under his opponent's jaw, forcing the head away until the bite slipped away, leaving a torn, blood-soaked wound. Not one to give up easily, the wild brown wolf continued to claw and scratch at Werren's chest and stomach, and filled with rage, Werren bit into the brown wolf's neck, tearing and ripping away the skin to reveal bloody but non-lethal flesh. The brown wolf howled hoarsely, feeling extreme pain as he felt his skin being violently torn.It seemed that the gray wolf did not want to give an easy death to the first enemy that got in his way. Furiously, Werren tore and tore at the brown wolf's body, leaving every inch of it covered in cuts and blood. When he was done, Werren threw the poor wolf's body so that it rolled and kissed the ground several times. The brown wolf wasn't really dead, but he was dying from various wounds that never closed or would never close. Werren hissed and turned away to let time do its work.

Blood covered Werren's muzzle and claws, making the gray wolf look even more hideous. The golden eyes looked back at the remaining rogue, whose guts began to shrink. Werren took a step forward as the rogue in front of him took two steps back. Another intimidating growl came from the gray wolf, its jaws slightly open, revealing sharp-tipped fangs red with blood. With a thunderous bark, the remaining rogues ran away.

Werren doesn't need to be hunted, our priority now is Mate," Daniel shouted.

Werren snorted, but did as Daniel said anyway. At high speed, Werren ran again, not caring about the claw marks on his skin, which would soon heal by themselves. It wasn't long before Werren finally reached the border of the Eclipse Pack, after he had left the Eglo Forest and crossed the river and the meadow.

Several of the border warriors barely recognized Werren, his appearance so disheveled, his gray pelt stained with dried blood and dirt, but his wounds almost completely covered. But they know that there is no other werewolf with light gray, almost silver fur and a height slightly smaller than Alpha King, if not Beta Daniel.

Strengthen the guard at the border to make sure that no rogue dares to enter our territory," Werren roared, still running without slowing down in the slightest. The warriors who heard Werren's command nodded and saluted, even though Werren did not answer. Slowly, Werren's running speed slowed as he reached the courtyard of a small mansion not far from the packhouse. After transforming into a human body, Daniel immediately ran quickly, following the flowing smells and intoxicating sensations. He was sure that his mate Liliana would be all right. But Daniel couldn't rest until he met his mate.

The intoxicating scent greeted Daniel when he reached the door. Without wasting any time, Daniel entered the room and tried to find out where the scent was coming from. He believed that it was coming from a very familiar room, the bedroom.Several Omegas seemed to be busy tidying up this and that as they walked around the room where Liliana was. Even Luna stood at the door holding Sean, her son.

"Luna Lyra," who is Daniel?

"I'm glad you finally came," Luna greeted Lyra friendly.

"Is Liliana okay?" asked Daniel with a slightly shaky voice.

"He's fine, maybe just tired," a happy smile appeared on Luna Lyra's lips, making Daniel both relieved and nervous at the same time.

"I'm going to see him now."Before Daniel's hand touched the door, Luna Lyra immediately blocked it with a serious face.

"I won't let you touch my best friend in this state," Luna Lyra's usually friendly tone became sharp and cold.

Surprised for sure, but Daniel was able to neutralize his expression quickly. Luna Lyra was right, their dirty and messy state from the fight in the Eglo Forest was very disturbing. How could it not be, messy hair, clumps of dirt and dust stuck to his clothes, bloodstains that were clearly visible on his jaw and cheeks. Daniel excused himself to clean up as quickly as possible. In less than fifteen minutes, Daniel was clean and dressed in a simple black t-shirt.

Luna Lyra smiled without showing her teeth as she gave a slight nod. Daniel nodded, followed by the sound of Luna's footsteps and the voice of little Sean, who struggled a little, as if he didn't want to leave this place.

A heavy sigh passed, a step Daniel took into the room, followed by the creak of the door opening. A woman was lying down, gently stroking the head of a tiny baby who was fast asleep beside her. Daniel's heart warmed. A beautiful smile formed on his strong jaw. The beautiful woman averted her eyes from her tiny baby and then looked at Daniel with a tired smile that didn't diminish her happiness in the slightest. Daniel was silent, slowly approached the bed and lightly kissed his wife's forehead while whispering, "Thank you for everything and sorry.

"Shhtt..." Liliana, the woman Daniel truly loved as a companion and life partner, placed her index finger on Daniel's lips, forcing him to be silent."There should be no regrets today, for whatever reason," he said quietly. "He needs a name, the most suitable person to name him is you, his father," Liliana's hand returned to lovingly caress the baby's hair, which had already woken up.

Very slowly Daniel took the beautiful girl into his arms. The baby's eyes are gray with curled lashes, just like Daniel's. While the curve of her face is very similar to her mother's face, which looks beautiful, sweet and strong. Truly the perfect mix. It's just that her hair is almost white blonde, unlike her mother's light blonde hair.

"Her hair is special. Our daughter is so special," Daniel murmured, and Liliana nodded in agreement.

"So what name are you going to give our little princess?" asked Liliana, who changed from lying to sitting.

"She's as special as her mother..."

"No, he is more special than me," Liliana cut in. Daniel smiled and so did Liliana.

"Or more special than his mother," Daniel continued, lowering his intonation without losing the seriousness in every word that came out of his mouth.

"That's what I'm going to call my little angel, Lalita," the baby smiled, happy with the name her father had just given her.

"What a beautiful name," praised Liliana, her face radiant despite her exhaustion from the birth.

"Yes, Lalita Yohansen," Daniel repeated, staring intently at the tiny baby in his arms.

Daniel handed Lalita to his mother and then hugged the two of them in the warm embrace of a happy little family. Once again, Daniel kissed the top of his wife's head.

"I am truly sorry for not being with you at such an important moment," he whispered in Liliana's ear.

"No, don't apologize. It's a Beta's job to help the Alpha solve pack problems. Aren't you injured from fighting a rogue yourself?"

Daniel took Liliana's hand and kissed it, "This wound is not worth the pain you feel for our daughter."

They both smiled and looked out the window, where the sun was about to set, tinting the sky with an orange glow. Lalita, the sweet baby, is back to sleep in the warmth of her mother's arms. And the warmth of her father's arms as he held her close until the sun disappeared completely, replaced by the bright white light of the moon.
