Chapter 4
It is the third morning since Saras has been gone. Two days ago Liliana started to take over the training of Lalita when Daniel was busy with the pile of files in the packhouse. Since Liliana had an appointment with Luna Lyra today, Lalita had to train alone, accompanied by Difa, her caretaker.
"Difa, can you get me that arrow?" Lalita asked, pointing at an arrow that missed the target too far and ended up stuck in the wall.
Difa nodded and happily pulled the arrows out of the wall a moment before the shock stiffened her whole body and she dropped the arrows from her grasp.
"Difa, it hurts..." cried Lalita, who had sat down to the sound of slowly but painfully cracking bones.
Difa realized what was happening. Lalita is doing her shift for the first time today. Difa shouted and demanded that the mansion fence be closed immediately. Several warriors guarding Beta Daniel's mansion were also on standby, as several Omegas lived there.
The process of changing shifts for the first time is an important thing that happens to a werewolf, where they meet a wolf that is in their deepest side. The process is quite painful. Not only that, but humans must be able to control their wolves, who are still wild and don't know anything.
The sound of cracking bones, accompanied by blood vessels that seemed to be boiling, made Lalita scream endlessly in pain. Difa herself didn't know what to do except to lock the doors and fences when Lalita had really changed shifts, her wolf side couldn't escape when it was still wild and dangerous. Finally, the figure of a wolf with white fur like snow appeared. This wolf growled and tried to attack Difa. Several times Difa was almost scratched by the white wolf before two warriors tried to help him. Feeling increasingly threatened, the white wolf howled and managed to escape after climbing over the fence. An extraordinary feeling of panic hung in Difa's heart to see the white wolf run away and hurt someone, considering that Lalita couldn't control it.
Panic was what Liliana and Daniel felt when they knew that Lalita would change shifts for the first time when no one was home. Daniel quickly went to look for Lalita after changing shifts with Werren and so did Liliana.
Lalita realized where the wolf had gone while trying to control the wild wolf.
Listen to me, they are not all bad, stop running before you hurt someone,' Lalita thought, trying to calm her wolf side.
How do I know they all have good intentions,' the wolf roared as he continued to run into the forest.
I am your human, I know more than you know, now listen to me and stop running,' the wolf told Lalita, ignoring her and continuing to increase her speed.
What's your name?" asked Lalita, tired of compromising.
Rione,' the wolf replied, still running, but not as fast as the first time they spoke.
Are you feeling better?
'What do you mean?
'For your first release.
Rione stopped running in the middle of the forest. His breath was panting, but he wasn't tired at all, even though he had run quite far.
I don't understand,' Rione said.
What don't you understand?' Lalita asked, trying to be patient with her wolf side. 'I don't know, everything, I guess.
Let me take over my body again.
Before the wolf could answer, the sound of a long howl startled Rione into running faster through the thick, unfamiliar forest.
In another part of the forest that Lalita entered while trying to control her wolf side. Two seven year old boys could be seen practicing with knives.
"Can you do that, Sky?" a boy with black hair asked, then threw his knife right over a leaf that fell and then stuck in a tree.
"Not yet, I'll definitely be able to do that," replied the boy with brown pearls and golden blond hair like a wheat field.
"Sean, did you hear that?" asked the boy whose name was Sky.
"Yes, like the sound of a wolf running."
The two of them stared at each other before they both changed layers as they felt the sound of a wolf howling followed by footsteps that grew louder as they approached. The boy named Sean turned into a jet black wolf while the boy named Sky turned into a silver wolf. The silver wolf silently readied his sharp and pointed claws at the sound of approaching footsteps, unlike the black wolf who still looked relaxed.
Out of the bushes a white wolf appeared right in front of the two wolves who had just changed shifts. The white wolf that had been running fast now stopped in front of a black wolf that was bigger than him. The glimpse of the white wolf's bright blue irises met the golden irises of the black wolf, causing both of them to freeze in silence.
I don't know them at all. Are they dangerous? Lalita thought to her wolf, who suddenly fell silent.
I don't know,' Rione wanted to growl, but he didn't because he felt a familiar feeling with the black wolf in front of him.
Those eyes are similar to Werren's father's,' Lalita murmured from inside, which the wolf could of course hear.
Is father as charming as him? Rione asked curiously.
I think so.
The two wolves took a step forward and closed the distance between them. The strange feeling of comfort made the eyes of the two wolves seem to be intertwined, neither wanted to let go. Little by little the distance between them closed until their movements stopped as a large gray wolf suddenly jumped over the tall bushes that surrounded them.
The silver wolf growled and barked, showing his sharp teeth in surprise, but he failed to recognize the gray wolf. The gray wolf was none other than Werren, the wolf side of Lalita's father, Beta Daniel.
The black wolf was the first to break eye contact with the white wolf and stare at Werren. Werren bowed in greeting, as did the black and silver wolves.
'The gray wolf is our father?
'Correct.
After the formalities were completed, Werren approached Rione, sniffing her scent to confirm that the wolf was indeed his daughter. After making sure that Werren tried to lick Rione's head, he made sure that Lalita could control the wolf or not. Rione let his father lick his head for sure, believing in Lalita and the calm he could get thanks to the black wolf's help.'You are very beautiful,' Werren thought to Rione.
Thank you, Daddy,' Rione replied.
Let's go home,' Werren asked, gesturing for Rione to follow him.
Rione followed Werren. Before disappearing behind the bushes, Rione turned to look at the black wolf one last time, trying to remember the bright golden web that was so comforting.
After they left, Sean and Sky changed shifts to become human again.
"Have you ever seen a white wolf before?" asked Sky after returning to human form.
Sean just shrugged and walked away, leaving Sky, who had memorized the cold and stiff nature of the Alpha Guardian's son, to speak sparingly.Who was that white wolf just now?" asked Stefan, who was on Sean's wolf side.
"I don't know,' Sean replied lazily.
How come you want to know about other wolves,' Sean quipped, making Stefan snort in annoyance at his cold and indifferent nature.
Why were you so calm about the white wolf earlier and not as alert as Storm?
'Why do you want to know about your wolf side? Stevan's joke made Sean snort again and then he cut off his thoughts unilaterally.
Rione followed Werren to the edge of the forest. Before leaving the forest, Werren wanted Rione to change position into a half transformation before they returned to the mansion.
Rione is calm and able to control Lalita. It doesn't take long for Rione to transform into a half-form with Lalita's body except for the blue eyes.
"We're going home with a half-transformation. Do you mind?" asked Werren.
"Not at all father."
Werren smiled, then took off at an unusual speed, but was followed by Rione, who was seeing the world for the first time. It wasn't long before they finally arrived at the mansion and were greeted by Liliana with both joy and concern.
"Lalita," Liliana cried, immediately hugging her little daughter's body tightly.
She is our mother? Rione thought to Lalita.
'Yes, isn't my face a very similar duplicate of hers? Of course she is our mother.
"Our daughter can change shifts at such a young age, isn't she special?" Daniel said and took Liliana and Lalita in one arm at the same time.
Rione looked briefly into Daniel's eyes. The gray pearl indicates that the father is not in a half transformation. Finally, Lalita regained control of her body and touched the wolf inside her.
I like my family and I'm starting to love you too, Lalita,' Rione thought as he felt the warmth of his father and mother's embrace.
I love you too, Rione,' Lalita replied.
The training camp was still crowded even though the sun had begun to hide its rays. Some warriors were still actively practicing, either alone or in small groups. The clashing of swords and the sound of action movies could still be heard from all around. But in a few seconds, the voices faded to reveal the arrival of a seven-year-old child with jet-black hair.
"Why stop? Keep training," the boy said flatly.
The warriors' training that had been halted resumed. Who else could stop the activities of the camp, whose size was no joke, if not Anderson's descendant. The Alpha blood that every Anderson descendant possessed gave him a strong dominant aura. Another Alpha candidate. Even though he was young, the aura he radiated was dominant.
The boy went to the southern camp where the warriors were training in their wolf form. Nearly thirty pairs of wolves battled each other, showing off their individual skills.
"Sean, the training for young werewolves your age ended four hours ago," said Axellio, Sky's older brother, his best friend, who held a Gamma position."I need a release," Sean said flatly.
"Maybe tomorrow you'll be able to let go of your wolf," Axell said.
"I want it now. Aren't you alone Uncle Axell, how about we fight?" challenged Sean, which surprised Axell and his wolf Arow.
"I'll summon Sky, aren't you the same age?" Axell looked reluctant.
"I've beaten Sky three times in training. I want to fight you. Are you afraid, Uncle?" Sean flashed that intimidating grin that only Anderson descendants had, and it made Axell's hair tingle.
How could a young werewolf under the age of ten intimidate an adult werewolf of twenty? But it was considered reasonable considering the status of Sean, who did not disappoint.
Axell once saw Alpha Sentinel grin as he half-transformed into a rogue on the verge of death. Axell still remembers the rogue's body shaking violently with fear and then dying horribly with a blue face, out of breath from the Alpha's strangulation. It didn't stop there, even the rogue's neck was broken by the tight grip on his throat.
Axell groaned, not out of fear, but more out of disgust for his Alpha if anything happened to his son. But Arow assured Axell that he would hold back because he did not want to hurt Sean.
After entering the arena circle, which was covered in dirt, Axell immediately switched shifts with Arow. Sean smiled crookedly and then participated in the shift change with Stefan, his black wolf, as dark as the night. Even though Stevan's body is not as big as Arow's, Stevan is already twice the size of a wolf of his age. The privilege that only Anderson's descendants have as Alpha King of all the packs in the immortal world.
Stefan growled, then pounced on Arow's neck, leaving a gaping gash without any resistance. Noticing that his opponent didn't react at all, Stevan walked away, barking his intimidating aura.
Fight me, don't let your reputation as a Gamma fade by kneeling before a young werewolf without a fight, coward! ' Stefan laughed without any sense of humor.
Arow snorted, then raised his head defiantly, as if he didn't accept Stefan's mockery. While Stefan himself was happy that his tactic had succeeded in provoking Gamma's anger.
Stevan lunged at Arow again, causing the two wolves to roll on the grassless ground as they slashed at each other. This time Arow showed his once doubted aggressiveness as a Gamma wolf. Stefan was beginning to be overwhelmed, but he was really enjoying his fight with one of the strongest Gammas in his pack. Arow locked Stevan's movements tightly while sinking his fangs into Stevan's shoulder, causing a rancid, reddish warm liquid to seep down his fangs. Not to be outdone, Stevan clawed back at Arow's stomach, trying to free himself from the bonds that bound him.
For a moment, the two wolves were free, but still kept a wary distance from each other. Their situation could also be described as chaotic, even though the cuts on their bodies had begun to close.
Stefan's breathing began to become irregular, but his strength was still more than enough to continue the fight. Seeing Arow's condition, which was slightly better than his own, made Stefan a bit pessimistic about winning this battle. Still, Stefan was quite satisfied to be able to taste the toughness of the Gamma, which really didn't need to be questioned.
Meanwhile, Arow was amazed by the abilities of the Alpha's son, who was able to put up a significant resistance equal to his courage. Even when he was young, Stevan had already put up a tough fight, especially as an adult. Once again, the Eclipse Pack has the powerful heir Arow.
Stevan lunged at Arow again and the two wolves wrestled on the dusty, dry ground. Arow slammed Stevan's body to the ground while Stevan managed to claw at Arow's muzzle. Their struggle ended when a baritone voice interrupted them.
Dad?
"You're in trouble, boy."
-
- *"Sean, what are you thinking, challenging a Gamma to a stupid game? It's not funny, boy."
"Come on Dad, I just..."
"Just what!" interrupted Alpha Sentinel, raising his voice an octave.
"Just think, Axell is Gamma, even he is ten years older than you. What do you expect?" Sentinel grumbled for a long time at his son, who was fighting like crazy.
"I'm tired of playing with 'them'. Most of them can't switch shifts yet. I'm aware of my responsibility to lead this pack one day. That's why I have to be strong," Sean replied coldly.
"Isn't Sky Gamma Damenik's son the same age as you? I heard he can change shifts quite early, just like you."
"I've beaten Sky several times and I'm bored." Sean rolled his eyes and looked at his father coldly. You can't blame 'them' just because they can't change shifts. Most of them are over ten and seventeen at the latest," Sentinel explained, trying to be understanding.
"Because they have no burden, while I have a great responsibility in the future."
Sentinel exhaled. Too soon for Sean. The child might grow up too soon.
"This is just Daddy's son." Sentinel crouched down in front of his son as he sat on the couch.
"Father is proud because you already know your responsibility. But remember, don't be like before, challenging older people is not good." The Sentinel ruffled Sean's hair angrily as the owner tried to get rid of his father's hand.
"Father's tired, wants to rest and you're procrastinating," Sentinel sat next to Sean, enjoying the soft red couch to lean against while shielding his eyes from the light with his arm.
"Just sign the papers, what's so hard? Besides, Uncle Daniel always helps Dad," Sean scoffed.
"There are a lot of papers today. Daniel only helps with a quarter and your father takes care of the rest." Sentinel replied without turning to Sean.
"No wonder I saw Uncle Daniel in the woods chasing a white wolf that seemed to be changing shifts for the first time."
Sentinel stiffened instantly. His head was spinning, searching for the memory of the white wolf written in an ancient legend that was highly classified.
"Are you sure the color of the wolf is white?" Sean nodded. The Sentinel fell silent, lost in thought.
"It's not too late, why don't you come play with me for a while," the Sentinel says to his son, returning to the real world. It was too late for the Sentinel to stop Sean, as he had already changed shifts on his beloved carpet.
"Not again," the Sentinel groaned in frustration.
