Chapter 5

The sun is still hiding. The wet morning dew still clings to the grass. The piercing cold was like a temptation for all creatures to stay asleep on their warm beds. But this was not the case for Lalita. The little girl had woken up and cleaned her bed on her own before taking a bath.

Lalita has been taught to be independent since childhood. Difa, her nanny and personal maid, almost never served Lalita except for small things like preparing breakfast at the dining table.

Today is Lalita's first day at the training camp. The little girl is excited enough to live her day, which will be very different from the previous days when she trained alone in the garden of her father and mother, now she will train with new friends at the camp, even though she is still a few months old to be really ready.

Daniel and Liliana accompanied Lalita to the camp for young werewolves. Same area, just a different place.

"Here you are, be careful. Be friends with everyone," Liliana said as she kissed Lalita's forehead.

"I can't wait, Mom," Lalita said enthusiastically.

"Remember Lalita, never do a shift in front of everyone. Do you understand?" Daniel added as he held Lalita's shoulders."What's wrong, Dad?"

"It's okay, it's just that Lalita is a special child. If you're intimidated or feel threatened, just be in semi-transformation mode. Don't change shifts," Daniel said gently but firmly.

"Good Daddy."

"Smart kids," Daniel kissed the top of Lalita's head before the little girl disappeared among dozens of werewolves.

Daniel and Liliana wanted to hide Lalita's wolf form, for behind Rione's white fur, as white as snow, lies a great secret.

Lalita walked leisurely, admiring the huge training camp. Even Lalita's sempai was amazed to see the warrior practicing martial arts from punching, kicking, and even doing some backflips more than three times. Lalita also learns self-defense at home, but not as intensely.

"Little brother, your training ground is not here," someone kindly reprimanded Lalita, who was too engrossed in watching the warriors train that Lalita almost forgot her aim if someone didn't reprimand her.

"Yes, I'm sorry, I'm just surprised. This is my first day," Lalita replied with an awkward smile.

"I see, then welcome to training camp."

"Thanks, looks like I have to go."

Good start, Lalita thought. For young werewolves, they get some material before they start training. Lalita entered a room full of tables and chairs. Not many had come, but there were already a few sitting around chatting. All of them had an average age of six years.

"New student, huh?" asked a girl with red hair who was the same height as Lalita.

"Yes," Lalita replied awkwardly.

"Would you like to sit next to me?" the girl offered.

"Of course."

"My name is Ariella, I've met my wolf, it's just that I can't do shifts yet," the girl said after they sat down on the front bench.

"My name is Lalita, I have also met my wolf," Lalita also introduced herself.

It didn't take long for Lalita and Ariella to get along. They're both happy and fun girls, so they're a good match. "I was allowed to come to the camp because I met my wolf a week ago. Even though I'm only a few months old," Lalita said.

"Me too, but I just turned five a few weeks ago. So we're both not old enough and still new here," Ariella said.

They talked and chatted until the teacher entered the room. The classroom was already full of young werewolves. The trainer announced that a new student had joined the camp, which suddenly made Lalita tense. Sure enough, Lalita was asked to come forward and introduce herself. Although nervous, Lalita finally continued after Ariella cheered her on.

"My name is Lalita, nice to meet you all," Lalita said, not forgetting to smile her best smile.

"Wow, look at his almost white hair," exclaimed one of the children.

"Yes," Lalita replied awkwardly.

"Would you like to sit next to me?" the girl offered.

"Of course."

Lalita felt that this was too much and finally followed Rione's advice. Lalita closed her eyes for a moment, which made the girl pout again.

"Wow, grandma's about to cry," some people laughed again, but immediately fell silent as they heard the heavy sound of a wolf growling in anger.

Lalita opened her eyes, revealing her bright blue irises when she was in half transformation mode.

I am five years old, almost six. My hair is faded blond, or you could say almost white. I can already do shifts. Can those of you who are older than me do at least a half transformation?" said Rione with a raised eyebrow as he replied to intimidate the girl who was constantly taunting him.

Seeing Lalita's half transformation, the room fell silent, including the brown-haired girl. Even the trainer was surprised to hear the wolf tell Lalita's story.

"Thank you Lalita, now you may sit," the trainer said before the tension in the room grew even more.

"Thank you," Lalita said in a normal state and her irises returned to their normal dark gray.

"Lalita, I didn't expect you to be able to do shifts, why didn't you tell me?" asked Ariella enthusiastically while Lalita just smiled at Ariella.

Lalita secretly glanced at the girl who had mocked her. Lalita could clearly see the girl's hatred for her, even to the point of gritting her teeth in anger. Lalita could only take a deep breath.

Lunch time arrived. Lalita and Ariella sat under a large tree and ate their lunch. Ariella talked at length about her admiration for Lalita's archery skills. How could it be that Lalita was the first newcomer to beat everyone in a sixty yard archery practice. Even Lalita managed to humiliate the girl who taunted her in class by dropping an arrow that the arrogant girl had shot with her own.

"You should see Astoria's blushing face," Ariella exclaimed, laughing out loud.

"This light brown haired girl is called Astoria?" asked Lalita while eating her salad.

"You just found out?" Ariella stopped laughing.

"I'm new here, how could-"

"Arieelllaaaa... Please accompany me to the coach!" a little girl about Lalita's and Ariella's age cried in a squeaky voice.

"Silvi, can you not scream, my ears hurt!?" Ariella complained, dramatically covering her ears.

"Sorry, heh, you're the new kid everyone's talking about, right? My name is Silvi," the girl said, her voice shrill as she shook Lalita's hand.

"My name is Lalita and yes, today is my first day," Lalita shook Silvi's hand back.

"Don't listen to Silvi, she's usually called 'dum-dum' because her mouth is as wide as the statue on Easter Island," Ariella teased, which immediately made Silvi excited to smack her subject over the head.

"Can I borrow him for a minute?" asked Silvi to Lalita, causing Ariella to slap Silvi's head back.

"Like I'm an object!" Ariella grumbled.

"Sure, just take it," Lalita chuckled at the behavior of her two new friends.

"Thanks, we won't be long," Silvi immediately dragged Ariella along without her consent, causing Ariella to continue grumbling even though she had walked some distance from Lalita, who was still sitting alone under a tree.

Lalita continued to eat quietly, enjoying the fresh air in the open nature of the training camp. Bite after bite, Lalita finally finished her lunch salad. Unfortunately, Lalita's peace did not last long. Astoria, that arrogant girl, came to Lalita with bad intentions.

"Looks like you have more food, this bag is okay for me," Astoria casually took Ariella's lunch package, hoping to provoke Lalita's anger.

"You can take it but wait until Ariella comes because the food is hers," Astoria's face turned irritated.

"I don't need anyone's permission for what I want," Astoria hissed emphatically.

"Really, the food is not mine, if it were mine, I would gladly give it to you," Lalita's words angered Astoria even more.

Without thinking, Astoria immediately pulled Lalita's loosely flowing hair, causing several strands to fall out from the force of the grab. "Good-natured! I hate good-natured people like you!" he snapped.

Unfortunately, Astoria forgot that the person she was bullying was able to change shifts, which could make the wolf angry and turn to claw his face. Like now, Rione took over in half transformation mode. Rione yanked Astoria's hand roughly out of her hair, causing Astoria's hand to blush slightly.

Keep your filthy hands out of my hair," he hissed and turned around.

"I will definitely repay you," Astoria exclaimed before leaving, hiding his fear as best she could.

After Astoria left, Lalita returned in her touch human form just as Silvi and Ariella returned panting from running. "You did it again," Silvi commented as she caught her breath.

"Are you okay or is anyone hurt?" asked Ariella a little panicked.

"I'm fine, I should be the one worrying about you coming back like this."

"We ran as soon as we saw Astoria pulling your hair, luckily she finally left because she was afraid of your wolves," Silvi said with regular breaths.

"Who exactly is Astoria?" asked Lalita innocently.

Silvi and Ariella looked at each other and couldn't stop thinking how anyone could not know an Astoria. After a while it was Silvi who explained it to Lalita because she was the best at telling stories.

"Near the Alpha son?"

"Exactly, that's why you have to be careful with Astoria, Lalita," Silvi advised as the lunch break ended.

"Brother Sean....," a one year old girl wailed below him, showing crocodile tears.

What kind of drama is this again," Stefan grumbled sheepishly.

Let's just get on with it, I don't want to listen to your mother lecture for two hours without stopping. What a waste of time," Sean replied.

Isn't dealing with him a waste of time, too?" sneered Stefan, not wanting to lose.

"What is it?" Sean asked his interlocutor flatly, not caring that his wolf was howling in annoyance.

"There's a new arrogant kid in the camp. Look, he's hurting my hand until it's red like this," Astoria contested, showing her slightly red hand.

"So?"

"Teach him a lesson," Astoria exclaimed fierily.

"It's just a small wound that will heal in a few minutes, this problem doesn't need to be prolonged."

"Anyway, you have to teach him a lesson!" snapped Astoria in a rising voice.

"Okay, tell me who it is and I'll take care of him."

Astoria smiled triumphantly.

    • *Lalita came home from the camp with a happy feeling. How could it be otherwise, Lalita found many new friends and two very pleasant friends, namely Ariella and Silvi. However, an uneasy feeling clung to Lalita's mind when she saw a boy with a flat expression looking at her from a distance.

Rione, do you feel what I feel? Lalita thought of her wolf sleeping in a circle.

Don't worry, I'll scratch his face if he dares to do anything funny,' Rione replied, then yawned widely, and Lalita prayed in her heart that the boy would not come near her. Unfortunately, Lalita's prayer was not answered. Instead, the man walked toward her and stopped right in front of Lalita. Suddenly Lalita took an immediate step back as she felt a strong dominating aura from the boy in front of her.

Shield your eyes, try to see if she's afraid,' Stefan called to his animal who stared at the girl in front of him, but unfortunately was ignored.

"I have a question for you. Why did you hurt Astoria's hand at lunch?" asked Sean straight to the point, still with a flat stare.Hearing this, Lalita lowered her head even more, then replied with a little fear, "I accidentally pulled Astoria's hand because she was pulling my hair. If there is any chance, I will apologize."

She's not lying, can't you smell Astoria in her hair?" said Stevan, who also inhaled the scent of Lalita's hair, which was affected by the wind.

"That's all, thank you," Sean turned and walked away, leaving Lalita standing alone and confused.

It is obvious that Astoria is lying. If he does this to my friend, I won't be afraid of him anymore,' Stevan growled.

I'm embarrassed too, if it wasn't for Mom and Dad, I wouldn't want to do this for him. We just have to wait for Sky's report, as far as I know Astoria won't let go of her target unless the target has really suffered,' Sean said with his usual flat expression.

After Sean left, Lalita continued her journey home. But just as Sean thought, Astoria suddenly came and pushed Lalita so that she fell on a sharp rock."Try it, it will be more painful tomorrow," Astoria mocked with a laugh.

Lalita tried to get up, bearing the pain in her scratched calf. Astoria wanted to push Lalita a second time but failed when she heard an angry voice.

"ASTORIA!"

"How dare you yell at me? I'll tell Sis Sean so he..."

"Tell him what?" challenged the boy who had snapped at Astoria earlier.

Astoria growled, but decided to leave anyway, stamping her feet in annoyance.

"Are you okay?" asked the boy with the brown beads who had helped Lalita.

"Thanks, I'm fine. We're werewolves, after all. Our wounds heal quickly," Lalita tried to smile, but only managed an awkward grin.

"My name is Sky Herder," the boy reached out to shake Lalita's hand. Lalita also shook Sky's hand awkwardly.

"My name is Lalita, and the boy from earlier, do you know him?"

"You mean Sean Anderson. How could you not know who he was?" Now Sky's forehead was wrinkled in surprise, making Lalita giggle a little at the sight.

"No," Lalita replied briefly."He is the son of Alpha Sentinel and a friend of my age. By the way, I am one level above you." Sky was Lalita's size, which annoyed the little girl and she pushed Sky away. Now it was Sky's turn to giggle.

"I never go further than the courtyard when I'm alone. I don't know anything about the outside world because I rarely mingle."

"Then you must mingle diligently, I will be happy to help you."

"Thank you, Sky."

"That's what friends are for," the two laughed, then parted in two different directions after saying goodbye.
