Chapter 3: Hired

Chapter three: Hired

Natalie

I woke up so early to get ready, I made up my mind and decided to go to the job interview.

"Wish me me, Molly." I placed her down on the rug, taking one final look at myself. I dressed casually, I wore blue jeans and a red sweater.

Weaving goodbye to my dog, I walked out of the house and locked my door.

"I just hope that I get this job." I prayed while taking a seat and waiting patiently for the bus to arrive.

After a few minutes, the bus arrived and I hopped in. I took my phone out from my bag to chest the time and it was already seven-thirty. In the next twenty-five minutes, I should be at the place before the secluded time.

Letting out a sigh of relief, I put my phone away and looked out the window as the bus passed by the busy market street.

'Almight, please I really need this job.'

I got to the building five minutes before the secluded time and walked straight to the front desk.

"Hi, I am here for the job interview." I said to the lady at the front desk.

When the bus stopped me in front of the tall building, I was surprised. I knew about Jacio International Company, it was a very popular and successful company run by Lorenzo. A scary CEO that can kill you in just one glare but I have never really passed by this company. I only realized the pace when I arrived.

"Okay, can I have your information?" She asked politely, I gave her my details and watched her write it down on the system. She picked up the phone on desk and made a call. She hung up after a few minutes and turned to me.

"Can you wait a little bit, please?" I nodded.

She resumed her work that she was doing earlier before I approached her. I decided to look around the place as I waited. It was very spacious and formally decorated all over, it indeed looked like a rich place as you can tell, the decorations looked very expensive and most of them weren't from the county. Especially the huge vase that held red roses inside them. Then the elevator opened and I saw a man walking out of it and made his way towards us.

"This is, Miss. Jackson." The woman at the desk said, introducing me to the man that was now standing in front of us.

"Welcome to Jacio International Company, Miss Jackson. I am Mr. Thomas." He introduced himself politely to and gladly shook his hand.

"Well, Mr. Thomas will be taking you up to the top floor where the interview will be held." The woman said and I nodded.

"If you can please follow me, Miss. Jackson." I waved goodbye to the lady and followed him to the same elevator that he had come from.

The elevator opened after a few seconds of standing and we entered. I watched as he pressed the button to the top floor and then there was a dead silence in the elevator. The only sound that could be heard was my hard breathing as I tried to calm my nervous self down but failed. I was more than nervous with a million thoughts running through my head.

What if I don't get this job? Will my landlady throw me out? Oh might, please help me, I really need this job.

"Nervous?" The man standing next to me asked and broke the silence.

"Yes," I responded, whipping my sweaty hands on my jeans.

"I understand, Mr. Ballmer is not someone anyone would like to meet and I can tell you this because I have been working with him for years and had almost been fired several times. Mr. Ballmer can be quite cold and heartless at times but he also has his days when he can be considerate and raises everyone's pay. However, you should try and never get on his bad side because then, he won't hesitate to fire you for good." There was a hint of fear in his eyes and that got me more nervous.

"But, I am not saying any of this to scare you. It is just to let you know some stuff about him and be cautious how you act and what you say around him. My advice to you is to be polite when he interviews you. And also if he is wrong, just admit that it is your fault and I promise everything will go smoothly if you do that." I nodded my head.

I have to try and get this job, I can't let any negative emotions get into me now. I am already here and there is no turning back. You can do this Natalie, you are strong.

I kept encouraging myself as the elevator went up and stopped a few times and more people entered. I was determined to get this job, I think I can do this. So far, the people I had met were polite to me so this should be a good start. I had hoped that I would get the job. All those positive thoughts went out of my mind when the elevator opened and we stepped out. We entered a room filled with people.

"Here is your number, just take a seat and that woman over there will call your name when it is your turn."

Mr. Thomas said before placing a piece of paper with a number on it into my hand and pointed to a woman dressed in a jumper suit. I nodded my head and smiled at him politely.

"Thank you for everything." He smiled back at me.

"Well, I have other stuff to do now, so I will be going but keep your head high and use what I have said to you. You will do great, good luck Miss. Jackson." He said with a smile before turning around and left.

I sighted, walked over and took a seat in one of the vacant chairs and my eyes immediately scanned the room. I was number 105 and believe me, more people came after me. They were mostly girls who were dressed corporately apart from me. I regretted immediately dressing casually.

Most of them were talking about how rich they were and that they knew they would get the job and all that type of stuff while I just sat there and mentally rolled my eyes.

"I know Lorenzo will choose me, I am literally the richest here and the prettiest. I am sure his little daughter will love me too and then I can marry him." One of the ladies said in a very short dress in a fall to her side while she ran her hands through them and her face caked with a lot of makeup.

She indeed looked rich but the way she is being bold is too much. Since I have been sitting here for almost half an hour, I have come to realize some things. Most of the ladies here weren't even after the nanny job or can even look after a child. All of them were dressed in an expensive clothes and they all bragged that Mr. Ballmer would hire them. But they didn't actually come here for the job.

They just wanted the job so they could get his pants and make him marry them. But there are rumors going around that Mr. Ballmer is single and denies every girl that tried to date him so I guess they were to be his daughter's nanny so that they can get him and his daughter to like them and convince her father to marry them. But that was so wrong because there is someone here that needs the job more than them and can't get it because of foolish thinking.

I sighed and wiped my sweaty hands on my jeans as the line got longer and longer and soon it was my turn. I was actually surprised that none of them even lasted a minute in his office. They just entered and got kicked out at instant.

I had to admit, I was really scared when the lady next me walked boldly into his office. She looked rich and was so beautiful, she looked like every man's dream and that made me scared but when she came out a few seconds later, I looked at her as she angrily stormed out of them without glancing at anyone.

"Miss, Jackson!" My name was finally called and I nervously got up and walked towards the woman. She took me to Mr. Ballmer's office.

As we entered, my eyes immediately scanned the inside as I was left amazed at how beautiful the office actually looked. The walls were painted white, there were also only a few details in the room but it made the room look better, like the little book shelf behind the desk and the painting that was hanging on the walls.

The room gave off a dark aroma, its smell of a strong man's clone mixed with the smell of wine entered my nostrils as I now stood in front of a desk. There was a chair behind the desk and I believe that there was a person inside. The chair was turned, so the person's back was facing me.

"Mr. Ballmer, the next person is here for the interview." The lady announced then the chair suddenly turned around revealing beautiful green eyes.

I was indeed struck by how handsome he is as I stood nervously in front of him. His eyes went to my clothes and then to my face. The lady turned around, giving me a little tap on my shoulder and left me now slightly shaking nervously while looking at him.

"Hi, I am here for the job interview."

I nervously looked at the most handsome man I have ever seen. His hair that was combed all back, making him more appealing. His forest green eyes that held a very deadly glare which could kill. His tin lips that was form in a straight line, causing his face to be emotionless. His beautiful features that was curve by Almighty himself and his figure that stood over me. He was the definition of a greek god.

"And you are?" His deep husky voice asked, still holding his cold emotion.

"I…I am Natalie Jackson." I stammered as his cold eyes continued to stare into mine.

The room fell in sudden silence, he finally averted his eyes from me to a file in his hands. He looked down at the file in his hands for a few minutes before he finally looked up to me again.

"Age?"

"Twenty-five,"

I simply responded feeling a little nervous again by his state. He nodded slightly before looking down at the file again.

"You have the job."

That was all he said as closed the file and he looked at me. I was looking at him with wide eyes.

That's all? No more questions?
