Nightmare

*Victoria...

Victoria, wake up...

Victoria, wake up...*

Victoria slowly opened her eyes, her vision blurry and confused. She heard her name being called amidst the chaos, and as she focused her vision, she saw the face of Damien, her husband. A wave of panic washed over her, and a scream escaped her trembling lips.

"No! Stay away from me!" she shouted, struggling to move away from Damien.

Her eyes filled with fear and suspicion as her mind vividly replayed the previous events. The sensation of the knife piercing her body and the image of the hooded man was still fresh in her memory.

Damien was shocked by Victoria's reaction. He tried to approach her, extending his hands in an attempt to calm her.

"Victoria, it's me, Damien."

She looked at Damien with wide eyes, filled with fear and distrust. Still trembling, she replied with a shaky voice, "You... you were trying to kill me! I saw you with the knife! I felt the pain!"

Damien was taken aback by Victoria's words and tried to approach her with outstretched hands, confused and concerned.

"Victoria, I swear I wasn't trying to hurt you! I was just trying to wake you up because we're on our honeymoon... You've been sleeping a lot and missing out on all the fun... You must have had a terrible nightmare."

Victoria recoiled in terror, unwilling to believe Damien's words. She grabbed the lamp from her side to defend herself as she said, "No, we've been married for five years! I saw... the knife... and the blood... I thought you... you killed me..."

Damien looked at her, confused and alarmed. He raised his hands and cautiously approached Victoria.

"Victoria, I promise I didn't do any of that. We just got married. Please, believe me."

"No! You killed me!"

"Please, you need to listen to me. I didn't do this. I would never do something like that," he said with anguish in his voice.

Victoria was terrified, struggling to process the conflicting information in her mind. She tried to get up but felt intense pain in her wounded body, causing her to groan. She looked towards her abdomen, only to find her intact beige silk nightgown.

"The blood was here, you stabbed me multiple times here!" Victoria cried, clutching her abdomen.

Damien frowned, perplexed and concerned about her claim. He approached cautiously, trying to calm her down.

"I... I swear I saw it... you had a knife, trying to kill me," she murmured, her voice trembling.

"I didn't do that. Please, trust me," Damien pleaded, his voice filled with despair.

Victoria was stunned, trying to make sense of the reality that had just unfolded before her. She looked around, seeing her room intact, without any signs of violence. Her heart still raced, and her hands trembled. Damien watched her, confused and worried about her reaction.

"Ethan... he was here... and... you..." she murmured, struggling to speak through sobs.

Damien looked at her with sadness and confusion in his eyes. He slowly approached, being careful not to frighten her even more.

"Darling, it was just a nightmare..."

She looked at him, trying to process the words she had just heard. The vivid memory of the nightmare felt so real, so terrifying. Victoria took a deep breath, trying to calm her confused mind.

"I swear I saw... I felt..."

"It wasn't real," Damien reassured her.

Victoria, still trembling and with tears in her eyes, looked deeply into Damien's eyes. She observed him for a moment, trying to separate reality from the dream that haunted her. The confusion and fear

still lingered on her face, but gradually, she began to calm down.

"I... Did I dream it all? But it felt so real..." Victoria whispered, letting tears stream down her face.

With a sigh, she allowed Damien to approach, letting him hold her gently in his arms. Damien embraced her, holding her tenderly.

"Sometimes, our dreams can be very intense, Victoria. But I'm here now, and I promise nothing bad will happen to you," he said, caressing her hair. "Let's forget this nightmare and enjoy our time together here in the Maldives as husband and wife. I have some activities planned for us."

Victoria nodded slowly, allowing herself to be calmed by Damien's comforting arms. She decided to trust him and move forward.

"Alright. I'll get ready... and try to leave this nightmare behind," Victoria replied, determined to find normalcy amidst the confusion in her mind.

Damien smiled, relieved to have her back. They stepped back a little, looking into each other's eyes, and then Victoria headed towards the bathroom.

Victoria, still trembling from the recent events, tried to find a moment of peace and relaxation as she took a comforting bath in her hotel suite. The hot water cascaded over her body, attempting to soothe her troubled mind. She closed her eyes, wishing for the disturbing images to fade away.

After a few minutes, she turned off the shower and wrapped herself in a soft towel. As she dried herself, she realized she had left her underwear in the bedroom. Victoria sighed and opened the bathroom door, only to come face to face with Damien's voice as he spoke on the phone, oblivious to her presence. Curious and with a sense that something was wrong, Victoria decided to hide in the corner of the bathroom, seeking a chance to eavesdrop on Damien's conversation without being seen.

She managed to catch a few disjointed words from Damien's conversation, enough to understand that he was mentioning a document for accessing accounts. She clearly heard Damien's words as he continued the conversation, "Once Victoria gets out of the shower, I'll ask her to sign the document. We need to ensure we have access to the accounts as soon as possible."

Her heart raced as she realized he intended to ask her to sign that document as soon as she finished her shower. But as Damien prepared to end the call, she heard the words that shattered her world.

"Don't worry, yesterday meant nothing to me. I love you, Amelia," Damien said into the phone.

Victoria's heart constricted in her chest as she processed the words she had just heard. A mix of shock, betrayal, and hurt filled Victoria's inner being. She remained there, leaning against the wall, fighting back the tears that threatened to spill. The name "Amelia" echoed in her mind, awakening the scenes from her "nightmare" and a whirlwind of conflicting emotions.

Her mind was then flooded with a torrent of questions and doubts. So, if what she dreamt was true... It meant that she really had died. That Damien had killed her... But she had been given a second chance. But for what? What was the reason?

Victoria walked over to the mirror, where she stared at her reflection, showing a weary woman gradually giving way to a determined and vengeful one. She felt a mix of despair and hope, knowing that she had been given the opportunity to be reborn and change her fate. The memory of Damien's and Amelia's betrayal still burned in her mind, as well as her husband stabbing her, fueling her thirst for revenge.

Victoria took a deep breath, feeling the flame of vengeance burning within her. With each rapid beat of her heart, Victoria promised herself that she wouldn't allow

the same story to repeat itself.

She stepped away from the mirror, determined to rewrite her story, to build a future where justice prevails, and she becomes the protagonist of her own life. Victoria would no longer be a victim; she would become the author of her revenge and redemption.

As she moved forward, a new fire burned in her eyes as she vowed, "Get ready, Damien. Because from now on, I will be your worst nightmare. My revenge is only beginning."
