VICTORIA'S REVENGE BEGINS

Victoria returned to the room, trying to compose herself as if she hadn't overheard Damien's conversation with his lover, Amelia, who happened to be Victoria's best friend. She put on a facade of normalcy, masking the storm of emotions within her. Damien, unaware of her knowledge, approached her with a seemingly innocent invitation.

"Victoria, how about we have breakfast on the balcony?" Damien suggested, his voice laced with a touch of eagerness. "The view is magnificent and would be a perfect start to our day."

Victoria hesitated for a moment, contemplating her next move. She knew she had to play her cards right and not hide her suspicions. So, with a forced smile, she agreed, "Sure, Damien. That sounds lovely."

They went to the balcony, where a table had been set up with a picturesque view of the sea. Damien pulled out a chair for Victoria and helped her settle into it, displaying his usual gentlemanly manners. Once she was seated, Damien placed the document for the release of funds in front of her, his intentions clear.

"Victoria, I'm sorry to bring this up during our vacation, but I spoke to Matthew, your accountant, and he insists that you sign this document. It's necessary for me to gain access to your accounts," Damien explained, his tone tinged with a hint of discomfort.

Victoria maintained her composure, her mind racing with thoughts of revenge. She nodded, feigning understanding. "I understand, Damien. If Matthew thinks it's necessary, then I trust his judgment."

Damien's eyebrows furrowed slightly, noticing her unexpected agreement. But he pushed the doubt aside, assuming she had finally come to her senses. He continued to explain the details of the document, emphasizing its importance.

As he spoke, Victoria glanced toward the vast expanse of the ocean, her eyes searching for an escape from this web of deception. With a feigned sense of excitement, she interrupted him, pointing towards the water.

"Oh, Damien! Look! Dolphins!" Victoria exclaimed, her voice filled with false enthusiasm.

Damien turned his head, following her gaze, momentarily distracted by the possibility of witnessing the playful creatures. In that split second, Victoria seized the opportunity. Swiftly, she tipped over her glass of juice, spilling its contents onto the document, rendering it illegible.

"Oh no! I'm so clumsy!" Victoria exclaimed, her voice laced with faux embarrassment. "I'm terribly sorry, Damien."

Damien rushed back to the table, his focus diverted from the dolphins to the ruined document. He frantically tried to salvage it, but it was clear that his plans had been thwarted.

Victoria maintained her act, playing the role of the apologetic and accident-prone wife, concealing her true intentions beneath the mask of innocence.

"It's alright, Victoria," Damien sighed, his frustration palpable. "We can get another copy from Matthew. I'll handle it later."

Deep inside, Victoria relished this small victory. She had successfully avoided signing the document, buying herself more time to uncover the truth and plan her revenge. With renewed determination, she shifted her gaze back to the ocean, hiding her true emotions behind a facade of tranquility.

As the waves crashed against the shore, Victoria's mind raced with thoughts of retribution. She knew that her journey toward justice had only just begun.

Victoria walked alongside Damien through the luxurious resort in the Maldives, enjoying the paradisiacal scenery. The sun shone in the sky, reflecting on the crystal-clear waters of the ocean. As they strolled along the white sandy beach, Damien questioned the story of the dolphins that Victoria had mentioned earlier.

"Victoria, did you really see dolphins in the sea? It's strange to have them this time of year," Damien said, with a doubtful expression on his face.

"Oh, Damien, don't worry about the dolphins," replied Victoria, trying to appear unconcerned. "Maybe I confused them with another marine species."

"Another species? In the Maldives?" questioned Damien, suspiciously. "You spoke so convincingly at breakfast."

Victoria was about to come up with an excuse when she spotted Ethan Blackwood. Her mind quickly returned to the first encounter she had with Ethan at that moment in her previous life, where he had shown up, and she was absolutely certain that he was there only to disturb their honeymoon, and she had treated him cruelly. It was a moment she deeply regretted now that she had been given a second chance in life. It was Ethan's face that Victoria saw before her death, and he had pleaded for her to stay with him.

Feeling frustrated and anxious, Victoria prepared herself for the uncomfortable encounter. She looked at Damien, whose expression mirrored her own discomfort. But before she could say a word, Ethan approached them with an air of arrogance.

"Well, well, if it isn't the newlyweds," Ethan mocked, his voice dripping with condescension. "Enjoying your honeymoon, I presume?"

Damien's jaw tightened, clearly displeased with Ethan's presence. Victoria gathered her composure and responded politely, yet distantly, "Yes, we are. I'm sorry, Blackwood, but we were busy with something."

Ethan laughed, unfazed by the cold reception. "Of course, of course. Wouldn't want to interrupt your precious time together. Just thought I'd say hello, you know, keep things interesting."

He looked at her as if he could read her thoughts and said, "You look beautiful in that black swimsuit, Victoria."

"Oh, thank you, Ethan," Victoria replied with an awkward smile. "Are you enjoying your stay here as well?"

"It just got better with you here," Ethan complimented.

She blushed, embarrassed, drawing Damien's attention to the situation. Damien looked at Ethan with suspicion, noticing the interaction between the two. He approached Victoria, wrapping his arm around her possessively. Quickly, Victoria disguised it, trying to dispel any suspicion.

"Well, Ethan, it was... interesting," Victoria replied, her voice firm. "But we really need to carry on. Enjoy your stay here."

With that, Victoria gently pulled Damien's arm, urging him to continue walking.

"I can't believe this guy is showing up again during our special moment," Damien muttered to Victoria in a low enough tone for only her to hear.

Victoria nodded, trying to reassure him. "It must be just a coincidence, Damien. Let's keep enjoying our honeymoon and forget about these worries."

As they moved away from Ethan, she couldn't help but feel a mix of relief and lingering regret. She promised herself that this time she would handle Ethan better.

The sun shone brightly over the paradisiacal beach as Victoria and Damien enjoyed their long-awaited honeymoon. The gentle waves breaking on the white sand and the inviting turquoise sea called Damien for a refreshing swim, while Victoria preferred to relax under the warmth of the sun.

Damien smiled at Victoria and said, "Darling, I'm going to take a dip in the sea. I'll be right back!"

As Damien walked away towards the glistening waves, a brief moment of solitude and curiosity took hold of Victoria. Her eyes wandered around until she noticed Damien's phone vibrating, a message notification flashing on the screen. Her curiosity led her to pick up the device, and what she saw made her heart race.

A message from Amelia confirmed their meeting for that same evening. Anger filled her face, but she decided to keep calm and take control of the situation.

With the message in hand, Victoria quickly put the phone back in place. She pretended to sunbathe, but in her mind, she was boiling with plans to punish her cheating husband.

Soon, Damien returned, with wet hair and a carefree smile on his face. Victoria forced a smile and casually asked, "Darling, what's our plan for tonight? I was thinking of a romantic dinner by the seaside."

Damien scratched his neck, hesitating, and replied, "Ah, dear, it turns out I need to meet a business partner. It'll be quick, I promise."

Victoria maintained the facade of a loving smile as her vengeful gears turned inside her. She said suggestively, "You're getting quite red, dear. I think you need some sunscreen. I brought one here in my bag."

Unaware of Victoria's intentions, Damien agreed and lay on his back, ready to receive the sunscreen. Victoria opened her bag and took out the bottle of suntan lotion when she spotted her mineral oil.

She mixed the sunscreen with a bit of mineral oil, creating a deceptive blend. With careful hands, Victoria began applying the liquid to Damien's back, covering him with the viscous substance.

Relaxed by the sunscreen massage, Damien began to feel his eyes getting heavy. The effect of the mixture prepared by Victoria was subtle but effective. He fell asleep, immersed in an induced slumber.

Hours passed, and when Damien finally woke up, he was hit by a terrible burning sensation. He writhed in pain, realizing that he was all red and covered in blisters.

"What... What happened to me?" Damien groaned in pain.

"It seems like you got a bit more sun than you should, dear," Victoria replied, looking at him, satisfied. "Come on, let's go back to the room. A good shower and rest will make you good as new."

Damien stood up and slowly walked back to the resort room. He moved with difficulty, resembling a crab, while Victoria struggled to control her expression and not laugh.

"Darling, let's take it slow. I don't want you to hurt yourself even more," Victoria commented, trying to maintain seriousness.

Damien moaned in pain as he tried to keep up with Victoria's pace. Every step was torture for him.

"This is a curse, Victoria. I can barely move," Damien said through gritted teeth.

"I'm sorry, Damien. I had no idea your skin would react this way," Victoria said, feigning concern.

Victoria concealed a wicked smile as she helped Damien onto the bed.

"I can't believe this. How am I going to explain these burns to... everyone?" Damien said, sitting down cautiously.

"Maybe you can say it was an accident at the beach. An allergic reaction to the sun, perhaps?" Victoria suggested, sitting beside Damien.

Damien looked at Victoria suspiciously, realizing

she seemed to be enjoying the situation.

"This isn't funny, Victoria. I'm suffering here," Damien said, frustrated.

"Sorry, Damien. I didn't mean to seem insensitive. It's just that... well, it's an unusual situation," Victoria explained, struggling not to laugh.

Damien grimaced in pain as he tried to find a comfortable position in bed.

"I just hope this passes soon. And you shouldn't be laughing at me. You should be concerned about my health. Sunstroke can be fatal! You, as my wife, should seek a doctor to evaluate me!" Damien exclaimed, irritated.

Victoria held back her laughter and put on a concerned expression.

"Of course, Damien. I've learned my lesson. Your health and well-being are my priority. I'll go find a doctor for you right away, my dear."

Damien sighed, still feeling intense pain but trusting Victoria's words.

"I hope so. Now, I think it's best to rest for a while. Wake me up when the doctor arrives. I don't want to spend the next few days stuck in this room."

Victoria stood up and walked towards the door, but before leaving, she looked at Damien.

"Rest, darling. I promise I'll bring the doctor soon."

Damien looked at her with gratitude and tenderness.

"Thank you, Victoria."

"You're welcome, dear."

Victoria left the room, finally allowing a satisfied smile to form on her lips.

"A successful revenge. This is just the beginning, Damien," Victoria whispered to herself.
